I used to drive a London Cab. One of my fellow drivers I was in conversation with told me he needed an operation & it would be a couple of years before he was top of the list. He wasn't rich but decided to go private. He went in for a couple of sessions then told the Doc he'd like to come in again but couldn't afford it. Said Doc checked his position on the NHS waiting list & bumped him up to the top reassuring my colleague that he'd be doing the operation at the NHS hospital himself. Sometimes you just have to play the system to your advantage. As for the Civil Service, how can Lefties find a home in the Civil Service while raging against rich people when they have highly attractive salaries & Index Linked Pensions ? That is to say, when the cost of living goes up, the pension goes up by the same percentage.

PFI was and is a disaster. Pay for ever on many multi million projects. If they do that with net zero investments our bills will be quadrupled not jus doubled. Windfarms are the choice of labour but we don’t have the money so it goes onto the bills at extortionate prices as we shall shortly see.
