I always thought that Don Panini "attacked" Ichigo after being healed because he knew that the Exequias were about to arrive, so he was more or less hurrying Ichigo along by playing the part of wanting to continue fighting just so that he could get him to leave. Hence why he gladly gave his life holding them off.

5:33 i am SO HAPPY you caught that. people love saying this is the worst arc because ''its just the soul society again. kubo didn't know what to do next so he just did the same arc twice.'' and that couldn't be further from the truth. the arc's are so alike on purpose. to show how similar and yet how different the 2 realms and races are.

👏👏👏👏 Well said, totally agree. The soul reapers are what the espadas & arrancars should aspire to become. And the arrancaras & espada's are what the soul reapers could become, if they supress their humanity. (kenpachi >Noitera, Ichigo > grimjow, Mayuri > szayaloporo, Yamamooto > Aizen) They are greater because they do not supress their humanity. Mayuri changed, szayel did not, Yama found the Gotei to maintain peace & he cares about his subordinates, Aizen is the opposite. I can go on & on & on. 👍

Bleach is very deep & has interesting themes, Kubo is a great writer but some are too simple minded to get his writing. 👍

Definitely. The Hueco Mundo arc is like the reflection of a photo negative of the Soul Society arc. The image is inverted- in more ways than one.

While he doesn't get too many moments in the story, Don Panini is always so much fun to read about. I've always loved how those tufts of hair on his head resemble the horns of his Hollow mask.

Ichigo sparing Dordoni and having Nel heal him only to have that flatly rejected shows not only the ruthless state of Hueco Mundo but also drives home that this is a conflict fought with finality in the mix. Either you slay or you die while the opposition wipes out your home or loved ones. Only Orhime can now pull the mercy card.

Even though it’s short, I always loved the Dordoni fight. He was ruthless but didn’t feel evil at all. Just wanted a fight and thought a lesson to this boy (niño) who is still growing. I really enjoy how Kubo made hollows and Arrancar not just an evil group but so complex and personal. Also I love how you’re already looking at Noitra’s character. Especially how him boasting shows insecurity

I LOVE that you called Ishida's Selle Schneider a lightsaber, that's what Bleach Abridged called it too, if you've ever seen that it's hysterical 🤣 I am glad you caught Noiitra's little quirk quickly. That insecurity will come into play in a big way later on. Also, keep an eye on Nel too. You're right again, she is a free spirited kid at heart, and that never changes even when you do finally see her inner power 💯

I really love how characters like Don Panini really just drive in the fact that Hollows really were once human. Seeing them express more than simple emotions of regret, longing and hatred and instead emotions that compell them to do selfless acts like sacrificing themselves is just beautiful Also I highly recommend seeing Chad's "La Muerte" in the anime. The sound effect that came with it is badass. Also your analysis of Nnoitora is just absolutely incredible especially with considering the way he boasts and relating that to a potential insecurity is next level observation. I wish I could be that good.

I love that you mentioned that the arrancar saga is not just about the rescue of Orihime and Aizen, but really about Ichigo's coming to understand himself and how he will work with the hollow side of him

Don Tortellini's death was so sad for me back when i saw it on TV. Hes one of the few villains i actually enjoy being on the screen and his death brings nothing but despair to little me back in the days

yup, this arc starts getting more and more meaningful, it's building slowly, and I'm of the opinion that the heights the coming parts get could have not been achieved without this part being cut off, next villain is going to be a more emotional one if I remember correctly.

You killed me with the GOT quote "an Espada that need to say I'm the best is not the best", not only that's true in general, but the primera will somehow be defined by that thought. Anyway, leaving aside the disrespect of Kubo towards Chad, taken out after his first victory in the arc, the Privaron worked well as intro of the real battle, as the current Espadas (over than Aizen trio) are the real deal. You will see it soon, so I don't say anything else, but still talking about the Privaron, Don Panini especially was such a nice guy for a minor character (personally better than many villains in the final arc of Bleach), Cirucci wasn't bad either, Gantenbainne is a bite more forgettable.

In Nnoitra’s defense, in hindsight, the top x Espada are monsters. So you can say he is the top arrancar for sure. But not Vasto Lorde level like the top tiers

I believe Grimjaw would be more than capable to deal with the espada that replaced him (for a brief moment) even without his arm. It's just that he knows Aizen wouldn't give him his position back without his arm. He is stuborn but knows one or two things about power hierarchy.

If Grimmjow's demotion wasn't a temporary "All according to Plan" by Aizen he probably would have joined the 100s, though given he had lost his initial number and given those currently in their group he might not have followed the implied pattern of just having their initial number + 100 put on him, since even with only one arm he can stomp most other Arrancar so too useful to just erase. Also Nnoitra and his Numerous's Tesra relationship is an interesting one beyond the normal groups of Espada and their subordinates, beyond Tesra being a tier 3 simp being part of his reason for blocking Chad, though the full interesting parts of their relationship is a still a bit off.

I personally think that Grimmjow would've become someone else's fracción, because the Privaron Espada are more of a risk to the espada because of their motivations, while Grimmjow's punishment was acting on his own while not directly defying orders or authority.
