A couple details about the movie: If you go back to the scene where Stitch is used to play a vinyl recording, Nani has a lot of trophies in her room. It is assumed that she was a professional surfer, or working to become one, before her parents died and she had to give up on that dream to raise Lilo. There's a scene that was cut from the movie that explains why Lilo takes pictures of tourists. Basically she's had a lot of interactions with ignorant tourists who were treating her like an exotic animal ("oh, look! A local!"). So she started taking their pictures like they are the exotic animals, to get back a little bit of emotional control over those situations, as a way to help her deal. This is one of my all-time favourite movies. I love your reactions, and all the picks you've listed make me so excited to see more of your channel. Much love from Germany!

Theres so many good details about this movie! But Nani and David really are the best. Keep in mind Nani was 19, she just lost her parents too and now has to be the parent. Its also implied she was a professional surfer and gave up her dream when her parents died. Its also implied that Nani and David did have a thing, but after her parents died he backed off to give her space and to help support her. He never tries to push her anything either. Also 'Lilo' means Lost in Hawaiian, where as 'Stitch' is to put together.

Because, generally speaking, hammerheads are scared off *incredibly easily,* like, quite a few people have said that they can be quite annoying to try to swim with because the air bubbles alone can often be enough to scare them off. (Just to be clear, regardless of this, I’m not suggesting anyone actually attempt to approach hammerheads without training, they *are* still animals with serrated teeth and an insane bite force).

I like David in this movie, based entirely on the fact that his presence is entirely additional. Any scene he is in doesn't need him, any plot relevance he holds could just as easily be filled by Nani or just left empty. But, even though he has no need to be there, he is, and while he is he is supporting Nani, vibing with Lilo, saving Stitch, and just being a kind and caring guy to this family. And though he wants to be Nani's partner, he isn't pushy about it, and still cares about them when that goal is being denied.

Why is Pudge the fish important? Because of this, Lilo has come to the conclusion that Pudge the fish controls the weather-as he is a fish in water and rain comes from the water- and gives him peanut butter sandwiches so no other kid has to go through what she did. She is coping with the loss of her dead parents. And this is her only way of being able to express her feelings about this. I read somewhere on Disney facts sideline that explained that she blames herself because on the day she didn't feed him a sandwich, the storm happened, and her parents died. So, this is why she thinks Pudge the fish controls the weather and it's a sad tale yes. But she has a lot to deal with being a 7-year-old who's being raised by a teenage sister. Lilo is also heavily damaged herself. She suffers from abandoned child syndrome which is a common illness among children who have lost their parents. She also has a behavioral disorder called intermittent explosive disorder in which she often has outbursts of anger and usually takes it out on her classmates violently. I wanted to share this with you.

His behavior is the result of his neglect, he was made to be a monster & he embraces that, but he grows from that because he wants more than that. The scene with the spaceship chase through the city was actually redone after the movie was already made. Originally they hijack a plane and chase down Gantu though the city. They changed it because it involved the plane crashing into a building. Right before it was set to be released in theaters, 9/11 happened, and they made the executive decision to delay the release in theaters to reanimate it so now its just a spaceship that LOOKS like a plane.

What's sad about Nanis luau job is that this is actually what Hawaiians had to do when the western culture took over. A luau was a sacred practice until the westerners took the concept and had the audacity to change it into a time to stuff your face with food and put on grass skirts and coconut bras and dance the hula. And when they had these events, they didn't even let actual Hawaiian people in, so to make money to take care of themselves, the Hawaiians were hired to work in these disgraceful events to clean up after the tourists like slaves only to make less than a buck.

This movie means so much to me was my comfort movie as a kid after my mum passed. I really related to Lilo. I’ve got a Disney/ animations tattoo sleeve I working on atm so far I’ve got the 2 volcanoes from Lava for my son with Te fiti underneath. Later this year I’m getting Lilo & stitch on my forearm along with Ariel and Flounder, as well as the main cast of Nemo. Loved the reaction

Lilo and Stitch is such a good movie!! One of my favorite Disney films (you're right, it defintiely feels pretty different from most of their other movies!), and it makes me really happy as a Hawaiian who used to be a really weird kid. Funny fact: The reason Lilo has an obsession with photographing tourists is most likely a joke about how tourists go to places like Hawaii and take pictures of locals, so Lilo does the opposite 😂

I love this movie because it touches very quickly on colonization, gentrification, grief, sisterhood, and how unjust the United States systems are. Lilo taking a picture of the tourist in HER home land (because thats what tourists do with everything), Nani singing the song that was made from their Queen to her, CPS targeting low-income and barely surviving (and mostly POC) families and separating them, even if they do all the right things. And Nani having to make sacrifices to her own life and giving up her ambitions to raise Lilo, which is a reality for a lot of people. Mertle (or whatever her name is) treating Lilo like an outcast in her own land when SHE is just another gentrifier and colonizer, and having the nerve to treat her like an alien. Even the music of the movie is so well thought out and having a Native Hawaiian like Mark Kealiʻi Hoʻomalu put his cultural touch on it made it soo much better. Several of these issues are still extremely prevalent in the United States. This movie is very special to me.

Your timing for this video drop is on point. Right when the live action Stitch dropped. It's like you knew. Stitch is absolutely my favorite Disney character 💙

The song Nani sings to Lilo is the song the queen of Hawaii wrote before she was forcibly removed from the throne by the US. Also, the ship was originally going to fly through a city. Then 9/11 happened and they changed it to the mountains.

Ive literally binged all your animated reactions LOL. I love your reactions and sobbing to Coco is how I found you tbh. Speaking of classics: Have you seen Treasure Planet or BROTHER BEAR? 2 of my most fav Disney classics that I think are underrated af
