Day 1 player here.. Got my account terminated for playing too much with Niantic thinking I was cheating😂 Appealed to them, they said they'll look into my account, said I was using modified rooted software, showed them proof that I was always using a phone that would literally void my warranty if I rooted it and i wouldn't bother rooting a phone just for a game and they rejected the appeal. All of it happened during this Rocket Event. I'm done with this game. Had tons of fun with my local community arranging meet ups for raids and CDay but I'm older now and married and don't have any more time to start from scratch again. Goodbye PoGo 🎉

I would 100% work with Nianatic for accessibility concerns. I’ve been playing PoGo in my wheelchair since 2017. I have been an accessibility consultant in my community for a few years. It takes a LONG time for any company, government, agency to listen to accessibility concerns. It would be a pretty cool thing to make PoGo a game for everyone for all ranges and abilities. Gaming has come such a long way in terms of accessibility but there is still quite a ways to go. We need strong advocates and voices who will add ideas, strategies to the game.

John is entitled to his own opinion but I actually enjoy these videos more than your structured ones. They allow viewers to relate to you on a more personal level. You aren't trying to be anyone but yourself and I admire that. Coming from someone who also has ADHD, I have countlessly been made to feel like the way I am needs to be filtered or changed. damn one of those comments went in!!! I think your distracted mind is very fun and enjoyable during these yap sessions. While there's always things going a little wrong with this game, its fun to have a online community that all enjoys the same thing, even if lots of people don't have those local groups. I luckily live in a college town so raids are decently consistent. A great Trainer Tips quote is that you won't catch everything in pokemon go, so try to enjoy the game more than the grind. Just going on walks/ runs and having an autocatcher going, completely ignoring pogo has been one of my favorite ways to play the game recently. Yap sesh done; love the videos

I agree with your comment about Niantic's approach on accessibility. This game is about going outside to a populated area and completing objectives that are not from the comfort of your home. If you're not in the healthy and able category or don't live an urban environment you're kinda out of luck. Your only options at that point are to find a solution that will allow you to go out, give up or pay up. That doesn't mean that you can't or shouldn't contribute to developing your community as a Wayfarer and plan for the future. I've seen some trainers go out of their way and contribute hours if not days of their time submitting POI's that developed their rural community into a habitat of Pokestops and Gyms. Then if you really wanted to get the ball rolling, collaborate with your local organizations or government to fund art or add stuff that could meet Wayfarer criteria near the location you play. I've noticed a lot of submissions for Little Free Libraries all over the place, just don't shove it right in the front of your lawn.

This will have been the second time in POGO History where spoofers actually affected legit players. First was the gym bots in the early days and then it was this. Other than that, spoofers don't hurt players at all. Them having hundreds of shundos doesn't affect your ability to play. And no spoofers don't care about GBL.
@AdventGO2 ай бұрын

@jarodoakfield1452 ай бұрын
Nope it doesn’t for your own play ( most of the times) but still , cheating is cheating and deserves a reaction. Even using maps is cheating imho. How you think these so called pro players have a ridiculous amount of shundos? . Ok some players can have many but it all depends on the % of catches. If someone flexes about it to me i just ask to see their amount of pokémon caught / hatched / raided and do the maths. The chance to catch a SHUNDO community day Pokemon is 1/43200 when weather boosted or 1/102400 when not weather boosted. In the wild it’s even much much more : 1 in over a million. For hatches it’s 1/216000. So if i c collections with 100 shundos they either have caught / hatched many millions of Pokémon or had extreme “luck” 😂

Late, but! If you ever need for historical reasons, some 'testers' did what I couldn't, and the ban was in fact 160 per 24 hours, then dropped to ~60 when the Take-Over started, then hell got raised and Niantic silently unbanned a lot of players and raised the limit to around 900 in 24 hours, while simultaneously dropping the "Taps count" portion of it (as far as anyone has been able to prove yet). There's a second thread I made on Reddit when the event first went live, if you ever want to shove it in your 'for historical data purposes' cabinet 😂 Post-Take-Over, the limit was dropped to 600 in 24 hours, appears to be a rolling 24 hours (there's always that one "I did 900 before I got banned! It only took 30 hours!" person...). And still results in an account lock-out of 24~36 hours. Still, at the end of the day, it should be a limit, not a lock-out or a ban, full stop. (And if I hear one more argument over "It's a ban!" "No it's not!" I'll physically scream... semantics, fml)
@dav1d19932 ай бұрын
The fact Niantic even tries to set limits in a game that is about exploring is absurd to begin with, when things like this happen it actually stops me from trusting Niantic and their games. Then again The Pokemon Company haven't been on the ball dealing with cheaters in the main games so I guess it is a case of the apple not falling far from the tree.
@franciscolaurean85502 ай бұрын

Like it’s one thing to roll it out without telling people and making it really low, it’s another to do it, make the limit really low, and do it during the point where the rockets have the most focus, like I get trying to combat cheaters, but you should at least not do things that will get actual legit players in trouble, or at least test to see if it’s reasonable for legit players to break that hard limit when they don’t know the limits a thing

DAX what are your thoughts on some kind of 3 times strike system? My idea being with the pokemon, pokestop and grunts cap youd get a warning rather than a 7 day ban (if they where to do that for the pokemon caught or pokestops). This warning is like a clear message which says what you did. This will help when they make a cap to low as players arent instantly banner or anything making it less demotivating. While i think it also handles cheaters in some sense as they either continue to cheat and get banned or stop. I wonder what bigger grinders think about such a system as i wont ever hit a limit :)

Niantic being ableist isn’t surprising and people always use the excuse of claiming we want unreasonable adjustments when we just want things to be more accessible and things being more accessible is better for everyone. It’s this kind of ableist attitude towards disabled people keeping us from a better world for disabled people and everyone will eventually be disabled at some point, also not all disabilities are physical or visible. Also re: the rude comment calling you lazy and the adhd stuff, I recommend a book called ‘laziness does not exist’ by Dr Devon Price it’s a fantastic read. Also if you are considering if you have ADHD I will say it’s worth getting assessed on its own for helping understand yourself more and maybe getting medicated if that’s what you want to do. It’d hopefully help with issues with motivation and with burnout you’ve mentioned in other videos. Also just from my own experience with it I want3d to say that maybe you should try and do less and not have the goal of doing more or being more motivated as you’ve mentioned before. It’s something I am struggling with a lot and especially am struggling with mom now as my meds situation has been a real hassle to figure out and continues to be that way after thinking we’d finally gotten to the point where it wasn’t the case.

There’s a couple of things to address here. Spoofers(some of them at least) have features that allow to “insta win” against grunts. So all they do is click on a grunt, hit battle and instantly skip the battle and win. I think that’s how they can do over 100 an hour. Secondly you can be a very busy person and still cheat because they have bots who perform actions like battling grunts or farming stardust while they essentially do whatever else they want.

I worked on and finished the level 45 requirement where you have to battle 50 leaders during this Team rocket event. I did so many fights I never want to see another grunt ever again. The idea that people were getting banned for playing normally is INSANE, there is no way you weren't (s-word)ing from home if you were hitting the cap. I 100% don't buy it.
@AimeeGirl2 ай бұрын
Like, if you abuse the auto catch and hit the catch cap, you may not be able to catch anymore for awhile, but you can still play the game and do other things, like open gifts, battle, hatch eggs, etc. At least they didn't give you a soft ban. Same with daily pvp battles. Why don't they just make your account not able to battle grunts, but able to do other stuff? Even if it was a mistake, you could easily miss an event, like the one going on now, if you got banned say yesterday. That's a total wasted weekend. you'd miss the classic CD too. Definitely needs to be fixed.

@Roneish19962 ай бұрын
Yeah I was playing a bunch during this event trying to get field research tasks with mysterious components to get a bunch of rocket radars to save for whenever their parties are changed next and because I’ll stack the black rocket radars for a better shadow legendary, this meant I would constantly have to click in and out of the Pokéstops to spin ones with grunts that I am not interested in fighting, so I’d be worrying that I’d do that so often that I’d get banned. I didn’t even think about it until now that I could have even been banned and forced to missed out on the beldum community day and the timed research from twitch drops.

Also, as someone with ADHD and unmedicated, I found moments in the video I could relate to. About the accessibility thing especially with raiding in POGO- I decided to put a common gripe to the test & tried to play shadow Lugia on foot, which is supposedly how Niantic want people to be playing the game. Friggin oats it was rough! Over 5hours on foot got me a grand total of 3 Lugia raids & I had to walk over 15km to do them- I was the only nutjob on foot, everyone else was in their cars. I gave up at 4pm & drove the final 1 hour I played. I did 3 Lugia raids via car in less than 30mins (no more Lugia spawned in for the final 30mins, so I called it quits as it is winter here). The stats- 5+hours on foot = just 3 Lugia raids done vs 25mins in a car = 3 Lugia raids. I later asked in the city group how many Lugia people had been able to do from their cars during the timeframe I played & the number ranged from 15 to 27! So, it begs the question- Why the double standards with Niantic nerfing RRPs yet continuing to do shadow raids in the 'spread out randomly over the whole weekend' format, if the whole purpose is supposedly to try to 'encourage' people to get out/explore/exercise, interact with each other & play the game together/build in person communities, instead of playing alone from home? Why push a format that in reality can only be played effectively if people raid alone from their cars? How is that any different than remote raiding when the end result is essentially the same with lack of in-person interactions, exploring/exercise & community building etc.?

Lol, it's not about getting people out to explore, exercise, interact, or anything else of that nature. It's ALL about collecting (and selling) YOUR data . . . which they can't do with you raiding comfortably from home. :)

@@whiterabbit6341 Read between the lines of my comment 😉 Niantic won't change anything if comments aren't constructive about what needs to be fixed & why- they have been up front with that & as much I dislike their way of running the game, I can at least respect when communication is clear & concise on what they will acknowledge & what they won't.

I assume the ban is on clicking on them because a cheater would check the text to find the right one and only battle a certain type of grunt to chase a specific pokemon. I think the old limit would have been fine if its battles. 160 x 5 minutes (considering walking and fighting) is over 10 hours constant play. BUT tbh I don't think any normal (casual) player that did not intentionally tested it, was affected.

ya most likely that is what the BAN is from

The real question on the ban is the "600" over the course of an hour, a day, or a week, or what. The only test was 600 over 30 minutes.

Was finishing up playing around midnight rest and hit with the ban wave for going over 1k catches in a day using the quick catch method. Learned later ALOT of people were hit with this as well. Made appeals but only got the automated responses from Niantic. Thankfully got the ban lifted about 24 hours later.

The question with Merch is why does everyone make their shirts black or super dark colors? It's hot, and boring. I'm so sick of people wearing black. I'd buy t-shirts supporting you . . . in colors, or even white. Gotta offer 100% (breathable) cotton! Now that's quality. :)

ya if I make merch ill make it multi coloreddd

All of these reasons are why in the play store it's dropped from 4.1 stars to 3.6 stars. Making it niantics lowest rated game next to peridot. Ingress, pikmin bloom & monster hunter now are around 4.4 stars as of typing this

I don't think it's actually meant to affect the gaming experience. Niantic wants to counteract unfair playing styles. There are players who create dozens of accounts to scan the environment and make it available as a map. A way to specifically search for Pokémon that interest you. These accounts also often scan Poké Stops to search for specific quests. I think that's why there are tap limits and it's enough just to talk to the grunt to ban scan accounts. In my opinion it's really stupid to ruin part of the experience for players who simply play a lot. Limitations are often tailored to casual players, which I find rather problematic. As a very diligent player you will be equated with scan accounts. But it is probably the only way for Niantic to take action against these maps... I think it's good that you bring up such topics. Best wishes and have a good day. 😊

Personally, I don't mind the yap and it seems like you genuinely enjoy the format. If I didn't like it, I wouldn't watch. Most important thing is that you enjoy doing what you do. keep doing what ur doing daxi 👍

My biggest issues are still the COVID changes reversion - which was probably the peak player count moment, second to '16 release ofc, for PoGo. It's quite hard for me to keep playing. Local raids in cities of millions with at most 200~ concurrent players. Remotes are very hard to get via normal gameplay even with the 7-day chance to get one. How am I gonna ever raid a local shadow? Very few cities have the player numbers of Singapore Tokyo etc.I can barely do 1 remote per week with what I am able to gather from Gyms and effectively drain my resources to buy anything else. Can't hook new players because the starting Pokémon and item space is absurdly low, and you essentially need to pay a full android game price to just start playing.

I got false banned and a strike on my account because I’m a pilot and flew to several different countries / cities over the span of 3 days for work and they said I was cheating 😵💫😵💫
