Wow .36 is pretty good. Good combo with the Diana & the Hammer/not Thor's. Vogels usually do well. They did have 6,000 for only a penny each. Keep having fun. 🎯🇺🇸👍🙏

Great shooting Nibs.👍 I definitely don't have the science, but I have seen many heavier pellets impact higher on the target 🎯 than the lighter pellets. I believe that it has to do with ballistic coefficient. Ps, the front of the scope might need a little blue loc-tight, because my piece on the adjustable objective came loose.

Sorry Chuck. I tried the ain non Magnum hammers and it slowly shook apart by shot 500. The Magnum still going strong at more than 2k. Still I've read others got bad ones that have gone bad early.

It's also happened with me many times as well with the heavier pellets impacting higher on the target than the point of aim. They just defy the laws of gravity! Lol😊

The heavier pellet are moving slower and are in the barrel longer so the recoil impulse is affecting the point of impact higher on heavier pellets than it would lighter ones as they are out of the barrel sooner before the recoil has a chance to throw them high

I have used the 3-9 x 32 AO Hammers scope on my Crosman Nitro Venom Dusk (.177) and my Benjamin Jim Shockey Steel Eagle Nitro piston 2 (.22). I still use It (have owned it for over 7 years), and have put 1000's of rounds down range with this scope. It was the first after market scope I ever bought for a "springer". Both if these rifles trashed other scopes that I had for my powder burners. The scopes that came with these guns didn't last more than 25 to 50 shots before the reticles decided to either cant to one side or just fall down inside the scope itself. I use UTG scopes on my PCP's but still use the Hammers on my spring guns. It has never lost zero and is one I can count on. The Hammers scope is a very good scope, even more so for their price point!

CPHPS BABY. One thing I noticed is you don’t check the skirts for damage which is a must w/the crosman’s any little imperfections will affect accuracy still really good though hopefully the scope lasts. I wish hammer made a non AO model for hunting

As many times as I've watched your channel I can't believe I forgot to subscribe each time. The 4-12x40 Hammers scope really caught my attention because I bought on last summer and couldn't figure out which gun was going to get which scope. I finally put the Hammers 4-12x40 on my Gamo Hunter Extreme pro in .22 caliber. I held off because I wanted a really good scope in the 4-16 range on that gun. It's one of my favorites and planned on shooting 50-100 yards at some point to see how it would do. I was quite impressed looking through the Hammers scope. Much better than I expected. I hope to do a video on that gun and scope pretty soon shooting at 25 and 50 yards. I somehow missed Vogel pellets, Not sure when they come out. I went and ordered some domed and waddcutters. I really like the neat hole the waddcutters punch through the paper, but have had no lucky finding one that would shoot well through any of my guns. I normally stick to JSB and H&N round nose or diablo pellets because, well, you seen the group the H&N's gave vs the others. The Vogels being USA made I had to try them. Hopefully the hammers scopes live up to their reputation.

I've experienced the same thing with heavy pellets after zeroing with light pellets. It only happens with my springers not my pcp's. I think the heavier pellet causes more muzzle flip. Opposite and equal reactions.

Most likely reason the heavier pellets shoot higher than lower is the dwell time in the barrel. You may want to check that by using a chronograph. The heaver pellets should move slower than the lighter ones meaning the heaver pellet stays in the barrel longer dealing with the harmonics of the barrel longer thus changing POI. Also using the rifle rest, you should try to always place the fore stock at the same location on the stock each time. This could also cause some POI problems. I found that shooting off of a rest and then off hand my POI changed ( using the artillery hold).

As far as heavier pellets hitting higher. I've always chalked it up to how they leave the barrel. It could the heavier pellet exits the barrel slower so the barrel is pointed slightly higher up by the time it exits. Just a theory that it has to do with the extra time in the barrel allows more barrel movement.

Hi Nibs. I have that exact scope and I love it. Mounted it on the Diana 45 in a heavy duty RWS Lockdown mount for springers and wow what a great combo. Very clear and sharp glass and amazing gun The only problem I had was the mount that came with the scope would slide back on rail when shooting so the RWS mount fixed that issue

Due to the weight of the pellet and energy of the gun you will have a higher arch of impact. Great shooting Nibs.
