Hi Nibs, I have a Diana 52 that has eaten a few scopes. I now have put the Diana zero recoil mount on it and mounted a Hawke scope. 1 year on and all is great and accurate.

Hawke makes scopes for springers. I own two. Both are on magnum rifles. No problems.

As far as I can tell from different videos I've watched from online stores, the spring does belong towards the rear. I bought two of these after I saw your initial video, one dovetail and one picatinny mount and the picatinny mount has a lot less play/wiggle. Almost zero movement with the picatinny version. Next I need to mount them an test it out

Hope the new scope mount works out for you and will keep its zero

The Crossman Shockwave, a .22 break-barrel has a weird recoil impulse. It actually hurts my shoulder! I have a Barska 3-9 on it and probably 100 rounds through it and still no issues. Very cheap, so if it breaks I won't cry 😢😅 I do like that mount. If I enjoyed the Shockwave a little more and wanted a good scope for it I would definitely be looking for that mount!

I am having a huge problem with this mount. I done the fix you did and now it is perfect in that regard . One super major issue i cant get any scope to fit in the rings without hitting the base because most scopes have that wierd screw on the bottom. All i see that would fit is a busnell 23.99$ free scope with muzzleloader. That was the only thing that will fit. A 30mm is closer to the mount, and i dont see any 30mm clearing the base. I contacted the company on amazon to see in they make medium rings to give it more space to clear. Lol i was so mad i got it perfect with your mod and no scope will clear.. thanks maybe u can ask them.

I have found the cvlife 3-9x40ao fits these quite nicely and are just about perfect size for a springer.

seems like a good concept but l will stick with my open sights or peep sights l was shooting my 1322 pump pistol with the crosman stock on it using the peep sights at about 12 yards and it is shooting dime size groups. very fun gun. it's the perfect back pack gun l would like to get the drifter one from crosman.
@cyruslever5867 ай бұрын
It's a pistol. That has no recoil because it's pneumatic. They're good little guns I had one for years that I recently gave away to some kids with a bunch of other bb,airsoft,crossbows,slingshots. They're really accurate with a peep sight.... this is more for a magnum break barrel with a big spring. They arent looking for a dime at 12, more like a quarter at 40. Tho alot of people can't shoot springers accurately and will be happy with a tennis ball at 30. My hatsan 125 I can do a quarter at 25 with open sights. Which is plenty good but just like having a scope better. Maybe I'm getting old but I can't always see both sights and the target and open sights are still always a guessing game of how perfectly sneered on the notch and the target you were when the pellet cam out. Where as a scope is point and click and you know where the croshair was when you sent the shot. So either you did something or the scope is out of alignment. Irons or a peep sight if your sights are set perfectly you can still have shots spread out if you're riding the edge of the rear sight or twisting when you shoot and you'll still be able to see the front sight the whole time it won't be as obvious it's something you did

Also out there at even 30 yard having a little magnification is never a bad thing. And when your pushing shots 60-80 yards (if your gun can push the fpe to still have power at that distance)you really will want magnification.

Interesting video, I have never used one of these scope mounts, looks to be a good idea, but haven't they received some terrible criticism, probably from people opposed to the idea rather than the practice as they refuse to buy them. Me I am just too tight, so I work on the gun, in my opinion it is the high frequency vibrations that cause the damage to scopes and that can be tamed, at least enough to protect the scope. I lost a couple of reticles forty years ago before I started tuning out vibration non since. Of course it is not just reticles that go many these days are engraved/ printed on glass, but the internals shake loose, well they do on cheap scopes indeed we have all experienced cheap scopes that are already in pieces internally straight out of the box, no need to fit it to a gun the factory already messed it up for you so thoughtful of them to save us the bother of wrecking them ourselves. Biggest scope wrecking problem are the Walther type piston seals you know the ones with the hole in the middle, trouble is almost every body uses them second only in scope wrecking terms to steel headed pistons using O rings or piston rings. When they start to wear your scope starts to suffer and if they fit badly from day one your scope is on a highway to hell. It is long past the time airgun manufacturers gave up on Polo type seals in particular on high powered guns they were only designed for low powered target rifles in the first place. Both HW and FWB had the right idea a great pity no one has though to improve on their designs rather than opt out with a plastic polo.

From what I’ve heard there is no scope that is springer proof but it sounds like the Diana mount works according to the review below hope urs works out. Personally I’m done with springers. Just concentrating on multi pumps. My Winchester 1977xs is insane just was finally shooting it past 20y. One hole at 35y using 10.5g crosman domed 6p getting me 625fps blew through an empty spray paint can. Also 2chimpmunks and a starling 😁check it out if Amazon gets them back in stock

Do you think this little gizmo would allow the use of a red dot on a springer without killing it ? I have a red dot but won't mount it on my springers as I don't want to risk scrambling the components. For $20 or so, well worth trying if it helps preserve my regular scopes.

Only if its a 1” or 30mm tube type red dot.

I’ve noticed that you have several vintage rifle scopes on some of your springers in standard mounts it seems. Have you had problems with them breaking ?
@WalnutandSteel9 ай бұрын
I have not had any issues yet, but to be fair those springers have very mild shot cycles

Hello sir. Can you please tell me is that finally worth buying the mount? Is it scope saviour or not.. thanks

I think it is definitely worth buying. Only time will tell if it really saves a scope but so far I think it will

Hey Nibs have you had any issue with the Buck Rail silencer on the Dragonfly yet? I’ve had 2 of them on mine and both have cracked right after the where the threaded insert is. Terry replaced the first one but I have asked about the second with him Just curious I have 2 other Buck Rail silencers on a 1377 and a 2240 with no problems

Hmmm I gotta have about a dozen of the 1/2x20 ones and have not had any issues. Terry also makes a 10x1.0 metric suppressor that will thread directly on the barrel of the dragonfly its listed on his site for the diana products like the chaser and stormrider
