Great video! We used 853's years ago in JROTC man those were tack drivers. I'd love to get one one day. Cant beat a 499B love mine, amazing accuracy as well. Nice head to head. 🤠👍

Was the 853 really small? They are advertised as a smaller youth version of the 753 and the 753 is already pretty small!

@@WalnutandSteel The ones we used had a large heavy wooden stock, They may have been tweaked for our particular unit.. I don't remember them being small. They sell refurbished models of the ones we used on the CMMP I may be wrong, I'm wanting to say it was the Elite after looking at the photos. 26+ years ago, I tend to get a bit hazy on remembering.

Any bb gun that can match a pellet gun in accuracy is a winner in my book.

Have you tried the match BBs Daisy makes for the 499? Their Precision Ground Shot is sized exactly to the bore of the 499B. Which also means it takes longer for the BB to wander down to the magnet. Patience is a virtue.

I did try the match bb’s they did pretty good but my groups are always better with the black diamonds.

Great shooting , sir! Earlier this week, I splurged and bought a 753S. It arrived on Friday, May 10, 2024, (a semi retirement gift to myself.) It is a grand air rifle, though I am struggling a bit with the peep sight. Yet, what fun to shoot that 753S!

Nice woodwork on the Daisy BB gun.I always think that pellets are more accurate than BB 's.For two reasons,1/most pellet rifles, and pistols, have rifled barrels,2/the skirt of the pellets seal the barrel causing straighter flight.

And pellets are stabilized by the hollow base, so they naturally want to turn nose first into the wind as they fly. Kind of like stubby arrows. Even through a smoothbore they should fly straighter past 7 yards or so.

both daisy quality air guns you have would love to own the 753s model. my favorite is the 880 models variants l own in .22 cal versions . would have been cool if daisy came out with a .20 cal version l would use the sheridan pellets.on it. but the 880 models in .177 and .22 cal versions are perfect pellet guns for me along side the older sheridan c models. my go to pellet guns.

Pretty good shooting!! I thought maybe the muzzleloader/499 might win. Its darn accurate for a BB shooter. Maybe for a tie breaker when necessary use the little 1/2 inch pasters that cover previous shots. They are tiny targets. Have a great day. 👍🙏🇺🇸

How many single stroke pneumatic rifles do you have? It might be fun to see a march between them like the current ones you are doing with the wadcutter pellets and the crosman 1701 pistol

I misread your original question I thought you were asking about pcp’s but now I see you said single stroke. I do have several a few real high end single strokes and then a few daisy 840’s and a crosman that are smooth bore but still pretty accurate
