All bodybuilders look good until they stand on stage next to another bodybuilder. Kevin looked good but even when he was competing against Dorian he lacked the back to compete against Dorian's back. Or against Ronnie Coleman where Ronnie had size, fullness, flow and an amazing back. Ronnie's back shots were unbeatable especially with his lats, Christmas tree, shredded glutes and bicep peaks. Or even guys like Flex Wheeler who would take aesthetics to another level. Kevin was great but the era he was competing in had the best the world had ever seen.
@waqasbashir9164 жыл бұрын
Even to his own admission, he wasn't dedicated like Dorian. Kevin is famous for taking upto 6 months off to party and all. He was extremely gifted generically and was able to prepare for the shows within a few months. If he had done that for the whole year and had the mentality of Ronnie or Dorian, who knows what could have happened!

I guess your comment pretty much sums up this whole uncrowned Mr. Olympia issue. All those Ronnie and Dorian lovers can keep on babbling about bigger backs and legs etc... Real Kevin Levrone fans will just facepalm and admire the perfect body and presentation of the people´s champ :-)

@kt95 gy you don't know anything about bodybuilding. Nasser uncrowned king? Lol!!! dude was a freak show, bad structure, weak back, weak triceps, pointy delts, probably was using synthol in his delts, relied mostly on gear, he only came 2nd in 1997, two 3rd places in 96, and 98. He was bigger than ronnie and Yates, but had ton of flaws, below average poser, guys like Kevin and Shawn and flex where real uncrowned Mr o. Bodybuilding is not just about who has the most mass or who is the biggest freak on stage, it's about size mixed with perfect shape along with perfect symmetry followed with perfect presentation. 90s we're epitome of bodybuilding. Any person who understands bodybuilding know Kevin and Shawn were the most robbed guys on Olympia stage.
@JK-vt3mq6 жыл бұрын
he did not get robbed.. His legs are pretty skinny compare to his upper body. legs are half of your body not just likr 5%
@rawintensity81416 жыл бұрын
@@JK-vt3mq are you new to bodybuilding? Because you sound totally like you are. 30 inch quads are not skinny, Kevin's legs started to fade at the end of his career. You could see the quadsweep go away from the 2002 Mr Olympia where he placed 2nd, his last Mr Olympia was his worst. 2003, he placed I think 6th. He retired after show of strength in 2003. But in 90s his quads were pretty big. You can't expect everyone to have quads like Tom platz and Paul demayo. So the next time you call a hall of fame bodybuilder skinny legs you better do your homework and come before arguing.
@spitshinetommy37216 жыл бұрын
@@rawintensity8141 Nasser was uncrowned in 1997 because you could make an argument he should have beat Dorian that year. You can't make that argument for Kevin, Flex, and Shawn in the years they came in 2nd, though they were overall more consistent and (IMO) better than Nasser.

The ironic thing about this video is that Kevin Levrone never really did "sacrifice" enough to get to the top. If you do some digging, you'd learn that he was known for taking months off from the gym to play in bands and what-not. He was a guy that would shrink in the offseason and then "grow into" shows. His genetics were so good that he could do this and still pull off an Olympia-contending physique, but what would have been the outcome if he actually gave it his all year round? Lets not beat around the bush: he got outworked by Dorian, and then he got outworked by Ronnie. Those two basically set the standard for sacrificing EVERYTHING, which is why they were able to blow everyone away. Flex Wheeler falls into the same category of simply not being committed enough, unfortunately.
@akashsingh47244 жыл бұрын
His training style was vicious he told in an interview dig it that if he trained year around he would have hurted himself.....altho he still did and tore his pec benchin 600 for 2 which is also a feat in itself and still won around 20 shows after that 👍 one n only MMM.

Damn, this dude was a beast! Definitely an uncrowned Mr. O. He is a bigger better version of Phil Heath. He has that "3D" effect but without the gut. Kevin maintained this look his whole career. Unfortunately he competed during the years in which aesthetics took second place to politics. Otherwise he should have had at least 2 titles. I think he was the first AESTHETIC mass monster. Dorian Yates was a mass monster but he always looked asymmetrical. Nothing lined up, and Dorian had horrible tri's and bi's during his last two O's.
