I'm guessing expansion joints on the edge are not needed? Hard to imagine a floor that size not expanding and contracting some.

Access is so important. If you aren’t sure what the driver’s capabilities are with the chutes or if the ground is able to support a 70K lb truck full of concrete, don’t take the chance and go ahead and get a pump. It’s a tough lesson to learn when you get a truck stuck no where near where the concrete is supposed to go.

That’s why they’re all wheel drive and have the lowest possible ‘granny’ gearing imaginable and on board tire inflate/deflate capability, exactly because they tend to get stuck so easily. It’s not their fault. It’s just that 35 tons is a LOT of weight and if they hit a soft spot in the dirt they go down. And god help them if they gotta turn their wheels a little bit. They just start plowing ruts in the ground at that point. Seen it more times than I care to remember and I’m just saying, good straight-shot, stable ground access is a must for those things.

@@psidvicious think just renting buggies is the better solution just because pumps are a pain in the neck to get and majority makes you do a downpayment which is pricey as hell.

@@unknowngaming4781 Buggies are awesome. If they work for the situation, use them 👍Line or boom pumps are readily available in my area, in whatever size needed. Just make sure the concrete gets where it needs to go. Buying a load of mud that went off in the drum because the truck got stuck is no fun. Especially when the stuck truck blocks the only access for the next trucks, already on the road.

@@psidvicious in this situation buggies over pump any day especially in a 6-10-yard pour where access is right there. Pump cost too much for a job like this. And if the concrete is going off in the drum that's just you not telling the driver to wet the drum or add delay or the crew just getting the mud down way to slow for the weather and slump.

Way too much water in the concrete mix. A couple of Brentwood wheelbarrows will get your concrete mix anywhere you need it when the truck cannot reach your job.
