To be fair Baron, at 10:14, you can see as the second bus enters the yellow box zone, the exit is actually clear, its only once hes in the box that the little black van in front of the first bus stops because of the taxi that is pulled up on the very left, which causes both buses to have to stop suddenly. Yes I know, its easy to judge after the event on video

I had winter hand control bags on my sport bike once and was out in the country. Passed a woman and proceeded to accelerate to about 130, then somehow my kill switch got hit and moments later she passed me as I'm sitting on the side of the road furiously pushing buttons under the bags. I know she was probably thinking some really self righteous thoughts...

I think I have actually cycled on that bit of road (indeed, raced on it, if you call time trials racing). But that was at 6 am on a Sunday a couple of decades back. I'd certainly use the service road unless it was very very shit (like some are, full of diesel, potholes and people ducking in and out, dropping you back on the main road for awkward junctions). Generally more unpleasant than unsafe, though, with very good visibility - it's sliproads and roundabouts where you get SMIDSYed.

When are you going to Barcelona? If it's April or later, I wouldn't go down the coast if I were you - I'd take the opportunity to go over the Pyrenees. Go through Llivia, Puigcerda, and down the N152 / N260 to Ripoll, and then to Barcelona. Check the condition of the passes for snow beforehand of course; by late April, they should be clear though.

The wreck that totalled my 98 VFR (was hit by a deer..) happened about 4 miles after passing a guy on a 2 lane twisty road with no shoulder. While going 65mph..in a 30mph limit. Was good fun. Old guy actually stopped to help me collect bits of the bike. He looked relieved when I told him what actually happened, and that my speed wasn't a factor. Then he told me he was a rider himself and my passing him made him wish he had his bike. Was all pretty funny at the time. :)

The later 1st-gen Scirocco, with the 1.6L engine and the 5-speed, was a very nice car and quite reliable. I'd rather have one of those than a DeLorean. Unfortunately they tended to rust.

Another thing is that sometimes bike lanes where cyclists are supposed to ride are in a really bad shape and/or it's dangerous to go on that, but motorists especially cars can't know that. Some infrastructures are made for slow cyclist but as soon as you're a little faster this becomes a real problem. I currently live in Belgium and some of what I see sometimes are real aberrations...
@maidstoneonbike12 жыл бұрын
As a cyclist, I'd say that although he has every right to be there, I personally would try to avoid roads like that. However, for some ultra-serious cyclists, dual carriageways are the best way to train, due to length and good surface.
@SkyRocket15911 жыл бұрын
As a cyclist, I can respond. This happened to me one time, I entered this kind of road (even a bigger one) by mistake, I didn't saw any sign, and when I realized it it was too late. I was finally happy to get out, after a few kms. So please stop assuming right away that cyclists do that to annoy others road users or that they consider everything is allowed to them, this may be true for cyclists with not a lot of experience ...
@TbfmediaTheYellowPeril12 жыл бұрын
You can go across the hatched markings, it's only if they're bounded by an unbroken white line that you can't (then they're treated like double whites). Technically though, you should be indicating when you pass like that, but most people don't as they're concentrating more on not getting killed.
@TheSarcasticEngineer10 жыл бұрын
Mountain bikes don't have engines. Every bump in the road, every curb, every shitty patch is our legs powering over it. Some, on not so fast roads, take the simple option of just riding on the road, it's less taxing on a long haul ride.
