hi don i just wanted to say i really appreciate your videos. its cool seeing a youtube reseller who isnt justtalking about clothing and actually showing real vintage items not 1998 "vintage". really cool stuff, now i know to keep my eyes open for paper.

Thanks so much! We always try to only sell the items with the best profit margin, and for us that area is mostly paper, and vintage items.

sublime90 we agree with you, it is really cool that "The Auction Professor" talks about things we like and things we mainly sell and have for years. Tired of seeing the same old same old ( no pun intended lol ) youtube videos talk about the same thing over and over, clothing and video games.

Glad they have been helpful. If you are branching out the one thing you should do is research everything so that you don't over pay. Getting the items cheap is the key, and making sure they are something that would sell.

I thought about selling things on ebay and have been watching videos. I'm retired and could use a bit of a monthly supplement. The thought of selling clothing did not excite me but the things you are showing I have always loved. Just never knew the value. I can't wait to get somewhere to browse. Thanks again.

We have a record cleaner, but you can use the softest cloth you have, and some light dish soap. Never get the label wet though, and never scrub a disc. Only use light effort.

Your pricing on the the majority of your 45s toward the beginning seem a bit inflated as compared to Discogs pricing. The last few seemed about right, but saying 75$ for a 5-10$ 45? Big score on the Neil diamond wow! The warren Miller w. Generic sleeve is between 10& 20 max. Ronnie savoy 30-40. But if you get the prices you’re claiming more power to you!! Love your channel though ! Always enjoying what you’re doing.
@TheAuctionProfessor
@TheAuctionProfessor 3 жыл бұрын
Yes we get these prices. We sell records on eBay, Amazon, and Discogs with Amazon using being the best place do being able to sell them for far more there than anywhere else. Discogs is probably the worst place to sell records though because we get far more on eBay, and Amazon over sales on Discogs. We usually only sell the cheaper records on Discogs as that is the best place for lower value discs.

Very informative video! One problem I have is the amount of time it takes to research some of these vintage items, especially the ones with no marking or name . Any tips ?
@TheAuctionProfessor
@TheAuctionProfessor 6 жыл бұрын
It would depend on which items you're talking about. Such as the Marx figures, once you've found them, and examined them you should know from that point what to look for. I have a video up from 5 or 6 weeks ago that I go into just Marx toys. Some items will take time to look them up for sure, but once you've done it enough you wont have to look again. Research though is key. Most of the items I sell, and show, are things you should run into at some point, but without spending the time to research the items you'll be missing out. The margins are higher for what we sell, compared to clothing, books, and etc.

Truly love your channel and have recommended it to quite a few people looking to up their ebay game. I do have a question for you, i purchased a nice album full of chinese postcards which i actually have a video of on my channel (2 videos to be exact)... my question is would you break something like that up or would you sell it as an album? Thanks for your videos and the inspiration you provide!
@TheAuctionProfessor
@TheAuctionProfessor 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for the kind words, and recommendations. I watched your videos, and I would sell those together as an album. They are modern cards from what I can see. The China cards that sell for the big bucks, are pre-1950 cards, and especially RPPC's. I would think an album like that would go in the $45-$75 range. Show the best image out of the album as the main picture for your listings as well. I would also leave the listing title very basic to force people to check out the listing for details. it should increase your chances.

The Auction Professor thanks so much for taking the time to respond, I have them listed now as one lot, I listed them a bit higher than you suggested but with best offer on... whatever happens I paid less than 3$ for the whole book full, surprisingly enough at the goodwill bins. Thank you again!

When you sell collectible advertising pens, since they are vintage most ink is dried up and thus won't arrive in usable condition...should that be mentioned in the listing?
@TheAuctionProfessor
@TheAuctionProfessor 6 жыл бұрын
That would be up to you. I've only had one person ask in the past, and would assume most people would understand that the ink would be dried up at this point. Some of the pens can have the ink cartridge replaced, but many there wont be one available due to the age, and constructions.
