Been listening to basho for a few years now but only came across this album a few months ago and it's really something special. I've found that a CGCGAD tuning evokes some of the emotion of this album for me, although I don't know if it's the tuning used on any of the pieces themselves

I set out to do this exact thing, except it was Robbie Basho - ‘California Raga’. I did not learn it, BUT I found my own chords, triads and linear climbing shapes. I created my own Raga!

Ha, i've listened to this song so often.. And until now to realize it's quite easy to hear what tuning it is if you use the harmonics at the end. It's CGCGBE. Tune it and you'll see the song will quite reveal it self. Gr

Basho is one of those, much like the poet who was him namesake, who can never be replicated. To me, that is what makes him extra special and what I aspire to in my guitar playing. How he plays it IS the song.
