My longest relationship after coming out as a trans woman lasted about 2 years, and he replaced me with a cis woman (pressure from his friends & family, internal religious moral conflict, etc.). I'm also friendzoned by 4 other "nice guys" who complain on Facebook "Why can't I ever get a girlfriend? Why is it that nobody wants me?", due to being trans. My point being is that it's ironic, and downright hypocritical of "nice guys" to treat me how the "Stacys" treat them.

Ughh, this is painful to watch. As a teenager, I had a lot of self-pity because every girlfriend I had cheated on me til I was 16, then I remained single until my mid 20s. It was really hard, but I had to stop feeling sorry for myself before women started to find me attractive. Now I'm with the love of my life. I almost wish I could tell teenage me to chill out, and stop having expectations of others altogether. But we learn by making mistakes, or at least I do. I was never the guy who just wanted sex, but I did get jealous and self-pitying which is really embarrassing to look back on, especially since I used to get really drunk and complain about it to whoever would listen. I'm glad that's over.

I like that Sam asked in the beginning if we had been nice guys once, cause I think subreddits like these are kinda made for us to see ourselves in a moral higher ground, while we all have the same chances of being assholes equally, in one aspect or another. I cringe at myself when I remember one time I was a nice guy in middle school, and I feel bad for being like this ever in my life, when what matters is that I'm not like that anymore and that I already have the conscience to never be like that again.
