Nice Vintage Mail Day! Plus: Goodbye, PWCC

Showing three recent pickups, two of which arrived today. One is my first CGC slab -- they are pretty nice.
One thing that's not so nice: PWCC labels firmly affixed on the backs of slabs. Not a good look - so much so that I don't plan to buy from them again.

UPDATE: Thank you for the comments about the PWCC labels. The labels are a little stubborn at first (hence I stopped ... and complained a bit in the video), but with some careful peeling the labels do indeed come off OK. Minimal if any scuffs or residue. So, my concern was unfounded. Still, I'm glad I put it out there, because I figured I'd be leaving them on. Thanks again!

Wow John, that 53 Campy is an amazing-looking card! That is one of my favorite Campy cards and the color on the one you picked up is fantastic. Can't wait to see that one get slabbed! That Cepeda is another great-looking card, I like the way the CGC slab looks! Well done my friend, congrats!

Thanks, Steve. The red just jumps out on that Campy. And I like green background cards, too! I've always liked that '59 Cepeda; someday I'll probably pick up a '58 Spahn, maybe even an Aaron. Those are so nice.

You can get some great deals on CSG cards. I have several of them. Anyway - that Cepeda is nice and love the Campy!

Hey Jason, I guess I overstated it since the labels eventually come off pretty clean. Didn't seem obvious at first, though, and even for a $20 slab, I want to keep it as clean as I can! Really liked finding the Campy! Thanks for the comment!

Great cards John. I have not bought from them directly since the shill bidding but I have gone on there hunting. I have purchased cards on ebay that had that sticker on there. I didnt have a problem getting them off but I think its dumb of them, we hate sticky stuff on our slabs , they should sleeve them and put that on the sleeve, love that campy ❤🍒🤙🤙

Thanks, Dylan. I'm certainly glad they do come off pretty clean as it turns out. But it kind of threw me for a loop to be honest. By comparison, I like how COMC will just put a slip in a toploader, or just bagged with the slab, for their back-end tracking.

Nice cards. I've never had a problem removing the sticker from PWCC. They always came off in one piece with nothing left on the slab.

Thanks for the comment about the label. I should've just kept going with the one I was testing it on (the Parker RC that I didn't show in this video), but it didn't seem promising at first.

Nice cards you acquired. The label you described for PWCC reminds of the sticker you get on the back of the sleeve for acquired from eBay that was verified via the eBay Authenticity program. I like the sleeve for the cards obtained on eBay, but I could do without the sticker with the QR code. Unless the QR code is for the PSA website, I don't want it. They can put the sticker on the box or something, but not the sleeve in my opinion.

I'm not a huge fan of the eBay authentication sticker on the sleeve either but I guess I can live with that a bit more vs. a PWCC sticker on the slab. Thankfully they do come off with little more than minimal fuss, but still not the best customer experience.

That's a super Campanella card. Can't give any feedback on grading since I've never sent cards in for grading. I collect in the raw ungraded.

These comments definitely helped. Even for a $15-20 slab, I didn't want to risk it at first-- I've gotten enough Scotch tape on toploaders on eBay packages where it might make me question my purchase. This kind of fell into that category in terms of buying experience. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks, James. I mean, the platform they have isn't bad, although I'm not a fan of them emphasizing their vault. Between that, and the sticker question, and the no slab sleeves in shipping, I'm at the very least taking a break from them. I would happily pay an extra dime, maybe even a quarter, to have the slab in a sleeve.

They could just as easily put the slab in a sleeve and then put the label on the sleeve
