The show started when Diane and BoJack's friendship started, and it ended when it ended. I think you nailed it. Everyone has moved on from making BoJack a centerpiece of their lives. Bojack has found a little peace but he's still tempted by his old life and worries he'll fall back into old habits. So realistic. As another commenter said, life goes on. Every day is a new struggle. You never get a happy ending, because there's always more show... until there isn't.
