Great video on a little known railroad, Sean. Thanks for the background history and running that unique A-B-A set on your layout. It's great to see examples of some of the lesser known railroads that once operated in the early 20th century.

I've heard of this Paint Scheme referred to as the Fried Egg Scheme because of the red dot with the white band. I enjoyed the video, Great Job Sean!

I love it Sean. I am really thinking of buying a set from them. I already have an ABBA FA-1’s that Weaver made backbin the nineties. They ran good for me then, but not near as good as these new ones with Legacy. I like your videos, keep up the great work, and thank you for your time and information you do for all of us model railroaders. ❤️👍🇺🇸🚂

Fun video Sean! Williams was making Lehigh & New England Alco FA's in the early 2000s and at least up to 2012. Being Williams products they were conventional operation only but the quality was top-notch. I'm sure there's some out there to be found and since there's little to no interest in Williams product the prices are typically pretty darn reasonable. Yeah, the L&NE was kind of obscure but some of it was their own fault. While not discouraging railfan activity they didn't eactly encourage it either. They were pretty much a no-frills coal and cement (coal and cement are reflected in the diesel paint scheme) hauling railroad with no pretensions of grandeur, they even discontinued passenger service in 1937 and few cared. Still, they're an important part on "Anthracite Railroad" history. That's one good-lookin' set! Thanks for sharing it with us!

The Lehigh and New England is actually a pretty popular road among my circle. Probably because it checked out early and it was still healthy! Also because of their interchange with the Susquehanna in far western NJ. Ironically their cement branches still survive. It was primarily a cement hauler along with some bridge traffic all the way to Maybrook NY and had anthracite traffic. Their diesels are odd ones, FA1 and RS2s, which means we get rs3s and FA2s in o scale. I was able to get an ancient set of 2 rail FA1s in Lehigh and New England, which were just okay great models.

Fine looking units. I like the smoke, given that Alco's were called 'Honorary Steam Locomotives'. As usual, the first horn sounds the best, although the second horn, which sounds like a single chime Leslie, is befitting for the time. The old E units in the early years of Amtrak, had that type of deep sounding horn. The first bell is the best. The rest either sound muted, or just plain clunky, with no resonance at all, like somebody is holding a hand on them. No comment on the crew talk. They seem to be nice runners and the fact that they all have working smoke units is a plus. I do like the directional lighting and It would be nice if I could retrofit my post-war diesels with it, along with remote control couplers. Maybe someone like Sid can figure out a way for that to become possible. Either way, an excellent and informative review and video, as always.

Good review, Sean. Fine looking paint scheme for sure. I don’t think that’s making it back to Nicholas Smith. 😊

I’m pretty sure Sean that Weaver made a run of these a long time ago. That’s when Weavers Alco’s PA and FA were chain driven

L&NE had FAs with small side-mounted number boards, not the type depicted here.
