Cat food and limes are my EDC as well, so glad to see another minimalist who also cares about his mental health.

Same 😢. Plz describe your situation so maybe I can see mine clearer. Is it a paint problem ? Organize ? Dusty ?

1:56 You probably already know it, but you can rinse your filter lightly before start brewing coffee to heat up the equipment and avoid the papery taste in your coffee, which results in a slightly better cup.

@@NicholasGarofola I wouldn't consider it a mistake, but a gap of improvement :D Loved the content btw, I found those methods very realistic and applicable on our daily lives. Enjoy your slightly better coffee as we enjoy our slightly tidier homes

@@NicholasGarofola Try a reusable cloth filter. Zero paper = zero papery taste.

I also do the drop zone area, it's next to my desk. Keys, phone, badge for work, etc. It's a Naruto box I got as a gift for Christmas 😂

The one minute rule is huge. I really struggle with dishes also but that is why I focus on it more now. Before, I would let it clutter up and then it would bog down my mind more. Now I put it straight into the dishwasher. Great advice in this video. Thank you

I used to hate dishes, now I have very few dishes at all, so it never becomes much of a problem.

hey, as someone who has been practicing minimalism for some time now I found these tips really cool, and not as obvious to practice unless you commit to making them a habit and think about your actual use and frequency you need each item its nice to see content that isn't about the first stages of decluttering but the day to day routine to keeping life simple! thanks :)

Its funny. I was planning on building a large hanger construction to hang all my backpacks (I have like 6) but I just realized that I really use one every day and one for sport every other day. I will stow the others in the basement so they wont give optical distress in my room (and I saved money for not building that hanger thingy).

The drop zone…great idea, like a lot of handy little tips you leave in your videos. The idea of emptying everything including your phone, makes you appreciate other things without being constantly glued to your screen! Keep em coming! Da iawn.

I so needed this video right now. Due a declutter so this will help! Agree totally with the put away before putting down is so helpful. I have the bad habit of just putting it down then ending up with a pile of stuff to put away after. This was awesome as usual Nicholas! Oh and sorry you sweat a lot 🥵🥵

One minute rule is awesome. For me, it just gets the ball rolling and it often cascades into an all-out cleaning sesh.

The “one touch rule”. If you have something in your hand, put it in its home when you put it down, so that you don’t have to move it around. One touch

Following the one (or two or three) minute rule can make a huge difference in whether or not things (or tasks) start to pile up. If I get a bit overwhelmed and I have a few days where I'm unable to keep up with this rule then I take a chunk of time on an otherwise slower day and I work at taking care of all those little tasks. It's a nice way to sort of catch up and reset a lot of little things in a short amount of time. Also, because it tends to be tasks that add to the clutter it can leave me feeling quite accomplished, again, after just a short amount of time.
