Don't panic, start out easy, don't buy things you don't need, budget every money, always save a portion of your pay atleast 5%, Invest from your pay check; it grows and helps you accumulate wealth easily.

When we first moved to the UK I used to spend hours and hours every week in the library. We still go there. It's relaxing, cozy and so interesting. Library is the most democratic place to be in. Everyone is equal, all have access and you don't have to pay to get knowledge. 📚 Thank you for your videos! I like them. ☺️

Pretty good ideas Nicholas!! After reading book Essentialism many years ago, my minimalism took off. One of the things that always amazes me is in the amount of money people spend on tech/electronics. The 'latest' gadget is the way 'they' get you. I have a 7 year old Droid, and it still functions for all the things I need. Along with surrendering your ego to having the latest tech, preserving what you have and getting the longest amount of life out of that tech can save money. Preventative maintenance, keeping it clean, having it protected, and turning it off every day can extend life of many electronics. While I look geeky wearing my wired headphones at the gym, they still function for what I need. Keeping e-products until they become broken, incompatible, or obsolete is a key to saving. Keep sharing your stories!!

I set priorities in my Bullet Journal's monthly spread. Usually a short list of recruiting expenses. It now includes a note to contribute remaining funds to savings that goes beyond my required minimums. I find this gives me more flexibility later as it pads my emergency fund.

I really enjoy watching your videos. They are of very good quality. I just finished this one and it actually makes me think that in order to save money, you just have to live more ecologically. I have had a water bottle for so long that I would like to know how much money I have saved with it. I also bought a bike that allows me to get around without paying for public transportation. I also gave up buying books to go to the library and take my coffee with me to avoid buying it on the way to work. In short, when you think about it, everything that is ecological is economical. I'm a huge user of my local library so I'm glad you added it into the list. I use it for books, ebooks, audio book, emagazines, and a weekly rhyme time for my little one and a knitting group for myself. All for free!

The only problem with just having 1 external storage drive is if that drive fails, your data is gone. It may be a good option to have 2 for redundancy. I just opted for cloud storage. It’s more convenient to find something without having to bring the drive with me. Also, great video though. It gives me ideas.

Besides having multiple drives, I definitely would recommend also using some sort of cloud backup. If something like a break-in or fire or something were to happen, you could lose all your drives and still be safe.

Libraries are the absolute best. My card is heavily used for both audiobooks and ebooks. It still amazes me that I get all this content for free. I go though about 80-100 books a year.

Thanks man! Went to see what the libraries in my country have and found that a library card gives free access to e-books from the largest e-book store here. Yay!

Libraries really are a life changer, I could not live without them. In Finland, we have a great library system: not only books but movies, newspapers, magazines, video and board games, and also tools, gym equipment etc. you don't need so often. In the libraries, we have 3d printers, sewing machines, large-scale printers, meeting rooms, etc. Great point about the cloud. I have an old 0,99 €/month iCloud setup but should really be more mindful about what I'm storing in there: mostly pictures that I have not seen for years and which are not worth saving.

Thanks for great videos. Utilising library is great saving tip that I use quite a lot. We have lots of e-books and audiobooks you can loan through application to even skip going there physucally. There are also video games you can loan and some libraries even have power tools etc. I understand this of course varies from country to country. I live in northern Europe.

Nice! And yes, a very similar list. - I've been cutting my own hair for about the last 15 years. I use the Wahl Peanut corded trimmer. Sure, it was $60, but it fits in an old pencil bag and has probably saved me several thousands of dollars in haircuts-let alone the hassle of setting up and driving to appointments. - My wife and I bought reusable thin cloth kitchen towels (marketed as "unpaper towels" on Amazon) during the Great Paper Towel Shortage 2020 and we don't miss paper towels at all. I also realize how much others will use paper towels to literally clean up light water spills or to dry their hands just to throw them in the trash. Nuts! - Most people don't know that your library card gives you the ability to digitally check out e-books and audiobooks that you can enjoy from your device.

I stopped drinking Starbucks and just make it at home. The iCloud thing is so annoying that I bought an external just to back up my photos. I have also deleted off my apps any shopping apps off my list of apps so that I’m not tempted to purchase things that are not useful. This was a great video thanks you.

I took your tip from a previous video about cutting your own hair and bought a Wahl clipper set. Even though I only pay $15 (including tip) for my haircuts every two weeks I’ll still save a lot of money. Within 2 - 3 haircuts I will have paid for the clippers then the rest is just money in my pocket. For those of you who are unsure about doing this, there are tons of videos on KZbin about DIY haircuts for men. If you have short hair, like I do, it’s really not that hard.

Great video for life in suberbia. I save money by living off grid. I own 3 properties outright in Hawaii. I drive a 30 year old Landcruiser. I get water from my roof and store it, run everything with either solar or propane.

If u only have one hard drive for backing up, u're not really backing up anything safely. SSDs fail over time. One needs at least three backups to be safe.

I paid 2.99 a month for 200gb of storage with cloud Math: 35.88 a year I just saw a 200gb external hard drive on amazon with good ratings for about $35...yea you're onto something

I don’t have a hard drive, but I neither have cloud storage I’d have to pay for. My parents are computer scientists and so my father actually has an own server for us at home that’s basically like our own cloud. When I’ll move out sometime next year or so, I’ll get myself a hard drive, too, tho.

About changing napkins for handkerchiefs, the idea is not bad but I wonder: what if you use it to clean your hand with some greasy food for example? What are your uses for handkerchiefs and when there is no way to change them and you still need paper towels?

Speaking for myself, I use cotton dish towels more than linen handkerchiefs (i use handkerchiefs for my pocket or bag) which are easy to wash in hot water (and sanitizer sometimes). If I know it's going to be a messier meal, I'll use the uglier towels which will eventually get retired as cleaning rags or recycled. They work for 90% of kitchen and meals tasks (drying foods or dishes, spilled liquid, napkins, wrapping cleaned herbs in the fridge) but I keep a roll of paper towels and go thru about half a roll a year for those really greasy or bacteria-laden jobs.

Do you have to pay for a plastic bag in the USA? Here, in the Netherlands, it's normal to bring you're own bag to the grocery store and use it over and over again. When you don't have a bag with you, you have to pay for one. Many people do that also.. And there are thrown a lot of bags in the street and in the bushes, unfortunately. But it saves us money to always have a bag with us 😊
