I'd never heard of this guy...I found him while researching my new Squier 51. Love this guitar, but man he plays it WAY better than I can!

I played guitar in a band for years, traveled the country in the big hair era of metal. Know matter how many solos I nailed, I never played guitar until I heard the blues, then felt them. You have to feel them, then you will just play like magic.

Just finished watching the first episode of "Blues Stories" by one of my harmonica heroes, Jason Ricci. Jason told a couple of his favorite memories of Nick Curran and tearfully entreated all his viewers to check out Nick's music. Well, any musician who inspires that kind of love and respect from my mentor and friend...I had to check it out. This is the first video on my search results list, and already...I get it, and I can't wait to find more.

@Dylan Bishop: The guitar is a Squier '51.
@jukeking110 жыл бұрын
Began life as a Squire'51. Telecaster bridge and pickup added. Some innards changed too. Nick was just the best we've seen in a VERY LONG time. Sure still sad over his passing. Nick has the tone in his soul.

Does anyone know what type of guitar he's playing. I know it's a fender, but any further info besides that?

ever figure that out Dylan? im looking into fender offsets to try and find out.

Squier 51, just in case you were still looking. :)
@jackarnold46705 жыл бұрын
The Squier 51 was a strange mutt long before Fender started doing "pawn shop" hybrids. They were given no respect but in the hands of a master like Nick they sounded just great.
@TheDans73005 жыл бұрын
Looks like a Squier 51 body with a Telecaster bridge and maybe an aftermarket neck or Fender telecaster neck. Those Squier 51's were a guitar modders dream I've owned two and just got the Japanese made Fender Pawnshop version which is tremendous. Nick Curran is such an inspiration and the fact that he played that guitar is the reason I do too.

Dude was just too damn good. Too. Damn. Good. Same with Stevie Ray Vaughan. They were here, paid their dues, became masters of their craft, then they were gone.
