Great podcast .. I was in the same boat as Nick with having a family and trying to start a detailing career/business.. Its very frustrating cause i was learning so much, ordering new products, not wanting to turn down any detailing jobs but then having to make time for the family.. Like he said detailing is very labor intensive .. But I guess since me and wife been together so long we had no choice but to figure it out.. I love the DIY Detail brand because its very informative and Jimbo keep doing ya thing...

Great podcast, Nick is an awesome dude. I haven't been able to find it now, but Yvan mention several times that he was approached by a company/investors that wanted to create a new detailing product line and have him as a consultant and face of the brand. Somehwere along the way I think some sort of ownership stake was offered too. Clean. by Pan, THOR, Detail Co seem like a similar setup. Instead of building a brand and trying to get KZbinrs to showcase it and companies like Rag Co and others to carry it...build brands with KZbin detailers as the "owners" and then bring on other brands to generate buzz, diversify the business and separate themselves from the established detail suppliers who are more discerning about what they carry. thats not to say that DIY, Pan and Detail co all have the same white labeled stuff, they are very different products and I believe they all had their own individual input on the chemicals, but i think there is a backend investor/business and blender connection. back when THOR launched, the promotional emails had the same Omaha address as DIY Detail for christ's sake! Just own it and tell the full story instead of making it seem like the two circle jerks (Jamie and Eddie) are spending their life savings and maxing out their credit cards to buy towels and build a business. Eddie has been whoring himself out to get to 8K subscribers and buying views/engagement by giving a bunch of stuff away on livestreams to become the Mr Beast of detailing...there's no way he started this whole thing in the way they have been portraying it. they are employees trying to provide for their families and there is nothing wrong with that. just own it and stop with the facade,

@@BXGreen_DrivewayDetailsonly after they got called out on it. The initial launch videos and livestream remarks from Eddie made it seem otherwise. They're still just employees (not sole proprietors), just like Yvan and Nick are. Nothing wrong with that, just facts.

I think this is the best summary of it. Nick and Yvan have been fairly open about it, but Eddie and Jamie def tried to act like this wasnt the case which is weird.

I remember hearing that too. It it also true that B&B bought Adam's, and owns DIY? That's the rumbling I've heard. Not sure if there is any truth to it though. The shop I do side work for had their own lime made by B&B. Should be ready to launch soon, but I have to wonder how much saturation the market can bear.

Bet I can guess who is funding it and the rest of them . I think it is someone that builds business and just keeps building and building until failure because he spends all his time building and not managing them.
@gtileo21 күн бұрын
Yvan has talked about this before, i remember him mentioning it in the video he did on Pans channel talking about the DIY Detail Line up of products. don't think its any different with Clean by Scam or with THOR and Detail Co. someone else is funding them they're just the faces advertising the company. i mentioned this on Pan's brand unveiling and he jumped down my throat about it. i wouldn't be surprised if THOR was forced to be Pan's exclusive dealer, Jamie and Eddie being small useless channels they wouldn't have really had much traction if it wasn't for Pan's recognition

Pop 1/2 a addy, work all night and morning from 10:45 PM until 11:00 AM. Nobody sees you. No interaction. Drink Ghost Energy and sugar-free Rockstar throughout. Vape inbetween. What exactly is a white label company? It seems to be a Hot Topic
@autodetailingpodcast18 күн бұрын
A private label company makes products that other businesses can sell under their own brand name. For car detailing products, this means the private label company creates items like car wash soaps, waxes, or cleaners, but they don’t sell them with their own name on the bottle. Instead, they let other companies put their brand name and logo on the products. For example, if you wanted to start selling car wash soap with your own logo on it, you could work with a private label company. They would make the soap for you, and you’d just design the label to make it look like your own product. It’s like having a secret helper who makes products for your business

@professorlacy2247 that i assumed, what i meant was Nick made a comment about being friends with someone and defending Jimbo to them and saying he's a good guy
@autodetailingpodcast20 күн бұрын
Eddie and Jamie started a hit job on my product brand right after I launched. This was after I did 2 podcast episodes with them and we had really good conversations. They took a some unfair shots at my brand when it was at an early stage for no apparent reason (at the time, now it makes more sense with their THOR brand). I called them out on their lies and they basically gas lit me. That’s the quick story at least. So in this podcast Nick is explaining that he was defending me to them because he was/is good friends with Eddie.

@@autodetailingpodcast doesn't really surprise me, they both have big mouths. I really don't know how they even started this endeavor. My personal opinion is they're the wrong face for a brand/ distribution company
@contemplativerooster20 күн бұрын
@@gtileoyeah I think their market growth could be limited with those two as the face of the company, Eddie especially. He's entertaining to a point, but he got obnoxious with the videos he filmed with Pan in his garage. Pure cringe. Loose lips are going to sink that ship pretty quick I think, he's all over the place and is walking ADHD. They are launching products and brands so fast that they can't properly serve them and their customers. Their warehouse packing/shipping is a disaster too. Sloppy as Eddie's underwear after hot wings on a 100 degree day.

@jeffc683220 күн бұрын
The Pan products I've tried (the rinseless and the spray polish) are actually very good and have very unique formulations compared to other brands. The tire dressing isn't for me (I don't like solvent dressings), I don't use strong sealants any more, and pH neutral soaps are pretty boring to me. I may try one of his coatings some day, depending on how they do out in the real world, but I'm interested to see what else he comes out with.
