I wonder why getting the right mindset didn’t work for the guy from Barbados when he was back in Bardabos. When he was being systematically oppressed back in his country did he not know about this miraculous power of the mind? Does mind power not work in Barbados. When he was being suppressed back in his country,he didn’t look at his mind,he looked at his feet and got the hell up out of there.

This is a complicated topic and Nick oversimplifies too much to advance his narrative. African Immigrants from Nigeria are self-selected. It is expensive to immigrate as a non-refugee. The vast majority of Nigerian are either wealthy or educated and usually both. So they have a head start already when they arrive. What these statistics don't show is that the average income levels of the second generation children of these Nigerian immigrants is in line with that of American born blacks. So culture and other environmental/systemic factors operate as a confound against attributing the originally observed disparity to biology.

As a Nigerian, you have no idea what you're saying. Our upper class is much poorer than your lower-class. Unless you're a politician (or part of the top 1%) you're not making as much as a middle-class American.

The black Haitian lady lied. Immigrants who come in America on visa can’t get any government assistance at all because they don’t even have documents. It’s common sense people. One has to have certain documentation like ID, social security, etc to ask for anything in a government building. Only those who come with refugee status get an apartment paid for them for a month or two and a food stamp for a month or two before they get a job. In fact as soon as you land In America as a refugee, the social worker will help find you a job, any job, just so the government assistance can stop as soon as possible. Then you will be left to fend for your damn self. Which is good. It’s not like the government helps refugees for a long time. Take it from a person who came here as a refugee. As a matter of fact, since I spoke English when I first came to America, the only assistance i received was rent for one month. Then the social worker helped apply for a job, I went for the interview and got the job. I have never seen that social worker ever since. Stop lying that refugees receive more assistance than citizens. That’s a damn lie.
