Macro Bortolotti was also cleared of doping and was not suspended. His ranking is much lower than Jannik and nobody seems to care. I think all other players who spoke against Jannik needs to question themselves why. Is this double standard ? Am I envious of Jannik because he is world number 1 ? If they call for same single way of treatment i.e. no double standard, they themselves should voice opposition against everyone else like Macro who was treated the same way as Jannik regarding the doping decision. @@CraigYahne the bottom line is he didn’t dope…….why is this so difficult…you’ll are always comparing Sinner’s case with others, get it guys it’s totally different……he was able to address it immediately and went through the whole process and came out on top…….does Sinner look to you as someone into this stuff. Let me give you the benefit of the doubt that Sinner is guilty, take a good look at him and his came he has got much better since that….instead of his level dropping or he having issues then you could have make your judgement but he has gotten much much better. So what’s the problem, plus he will live with this for the rest of his life but I know he’s innocent. Don’t you think in spite of all that has happened and still going on, he has had the ability to put this aside and play incredible tennis, you should try doing that under pressure, but he did it because deep inside he knew he did nothing wrong. Let them keep talking including you but he’s innocent, deal with it.

Different substance. Different amount found in blood. Different explanations- none for Halep. But they were both able to employ expensive legal teams, Halep and Sinner both being high earning players. So this different treatment argument is just untrue. Sinner was lucky that he worked out quickly where the contamination came from otherwise he probably would not have been able to appeal successfully his suspension like in Halep's case. The only similar case was an Italian player ranked quite low and he had the same treatment as Sinner. The fact is none of the people in the public eye who commented on this are either legal experts or doping experts/pharmacologists or players who think they were treated unfairly themselves. Just attention seekers. To me it says more about their personality and sportsmanship than anything else, you just don't kick someone on the ground no matter what you think privately. Especially if you have been in a media storm yourself before and for things far worse than doping.

I understand that Sinner's fans have a strong tendency to believe this story. Objectively speaking, however, the positive doping tests should not be swept under the carpet in this way. There was already a prominent Clostebol case in Italia in 2022. Basketball player Riccardo Moraschini was banned for a year after testing positive in January 2022. His partner had cut her finger while preparing food and also treated the wound with a Clostebol ointment. Help! And now Sinner's naive physiotherapist. So in future, any athlete can come up with a story like this. Rules no longer count.

NIck has his own issues but his point is a good one. Sinner is being protected and lower ranked (or less popular) players would not be. There needs to be a very clear standard no matter which player. Why does Sara Errani come to mind in this context? She's an Italian tennis player with a strikingly deep voice (reminiscent of Francesca Schiavone). Traces of letrozole, a hormonal and metabolic drug, were found in a urine sample taken from Errani on 16 February 2017. She claimed that her mother had to take the drug because she had developed a tumour years ago. When preparing pasta for the family, her mother had accidentally contaminated the food with letrozole. The pasta eater was nevertheless banned. Incidentally, Sara has just won an Olympic gold medal in doubles, together with another Italian tennis player who has made a huge leap in performance this year: Jasmine Paolini. - I can't help but think that the sport of tennis is facing similar revelations as cycling during the Armstrong era.
@Sobchak2
@Sobchak2 2 ай бұрын
Sara Errani doesn't have a deep voice at all, why do you have to make things up? Letrozole is an aromatase inhibitor used to treat estrogen-dependent breast cancer in post menopausal women. That's what Sara Errani's mother was taking to treat her own breast cancer. Letrozole is a banned substance because men who take anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS) have sometimes used it to prevent the feminising effects of AAS. Also, letrozole can increase serum testosterone in men. It wouldn't have made any sense for Sara Errani to take letrozole to improve her sport performances, really. It's not very difficult to understand it, but you do need to have some notions of pharmacology to be able to have an informed opinion on this.

Let me see if I understand this -- Sharapova and Halep were treated badly, so, to be consistent, Sinner should also be treated badly? Perhaps Sinner's treatment is a sign that the powers that be that their handling of the two women stars wasn't done properly and that it was time to do it correctly. To immediately announce that someone failed a drug test and punish them, before a full investigation of the facts has been done, is criminal -- in America, at least, you are innocent until proven guilty. I've watched Sinner play tennis, and it's not doping that makes him a great player -- it's his stroke mechanics, court sense, and solid mental center that make him great. Just the mental part alone has a vastly greater effect on how a player does on court compared to doping -- just look at how the mental strain on Alcaraz at the Olympics representing his country kept him from getting the gold medal, and its brutal aftereffects at the US Open. I, for one, am looking forward to seeing Sinner play his next match...

Darren Cahill has integrity. If he says Sinner is without any wrongdoing in the steroid matter it's game over. Period. Uncle Tony knows Sinner and knows he has no intention to cheat. The critics, chief of whom seems to be Nick Kyrgios, are talking w/out information. Kyrgios has not been a credit to the game of tennis. Insulting chair umpires, linesmen, ball kids, his "box", etc. He has played matches that he hasn't put out full effort. And now espn has him involved in the commentary on US Open matches. His integrity is far less than Cahill's, to be sure. Who wants to hear what he has to say about Sinner. Let him get back on the court and show if he has anything left in the tank. In the meantime, STFU.

No one can escape the fact that Sinner was given preferential treatment - that's the problem As Gaudenzi runs the ATP, that preferential treatment is not surprising

"Minute trace amounts of clostebol". What a dumb argument that makes Sinner 100% guilty, when its common knowledge that the time of the sampling is the most crucial among the other factors. Meaning, that if the sample was taken a few days earlier, it is most probable that the dope quantity would be higher. Unless you believe the fiction with the sliced pinky 🤣 Sinners' downward spiral starts now that he got caught and there is no more juice.

@Ineddiblehulk Maybe Nick should do some proper research before making bull-headed comments - and maybe you should too before trusting everything Kyrgios says. Marco Bortolotti (2023) and Matilde Paoletti (2021) - both italian players who had a similar cases (re: Clostebol) and were exonerated quickly. These were the precedent cases referenced in Sinner's trial report. These were lower ranked players who were given due process and were treated as fairly as possible. Why should Sinner be treated differently from them? Wouldn't that be anti-double standard discrimination? Come back when you've got facts to prove and not just sticking up for an ignorant Twitter troll who hasn't even won a Masters 1000 but talks like he's the Michael Phelps of tennis. Please.

There is no fallout. Kyrgios is working very hard to get back into the limelight and whatever he says, is of no consequence. Djokovic is boiling inside because Sinner keeps beating him, so we know HIS motivation to poke his nose into this. It is usually those who are about to be forgotten who make the biggest stink.

The H2H is still 4-3 in favour of Novak - my dear child 😂😂😂😂😂 That hard fought Turin round robin win - inspite of Novak winning more points - is of no consequence because Novak won when it mattered in the Turin finals by spanking both the kid and Sinner back to back in straight sets. LoL 😂😂 Sinner was humiliated in front of his home crowd in Turin finals. And he erred by beating Rune and paid a big price. LoL 😂 😂 😂 Still he leads in Grand slams 2-1.
