​@bepisman7273 my grandmom was raised by farmers who lived through the great depression. At this point hoarding is a generational trauma. Every time im cleaning out my room and I find some peice of trash like some twine or something its hard for me to throw it out because "what if I need it". Then I think back to my grandmother who said the same thing about the piles of cloths from the 70s with visable mold growing on them and the 8 matresses in her attic with blood stains or tears (my brother got a matres from her and it was infested with spiders). And then I think of my mother whos 6 foot wide hallways turned into 2 foot wide hallways and who cant use half her house because of junk (a lot of witch my grandmother pawned off on her). Its hard to overcome a scarcity mindset when its been drilled into you since birth, but no way Im going to live in that kind of environment.

The previous owner of my parent’s house, that they had to evict unfortunately. Because he stayed there for 6 months right when my parents bought it. He lived without water or electricity for almost two years. He used to light up the fireplace for warmth, with random trash and turn it off with him pissing on the fire. He had three dogs, who constantly shitted on his expensive ass rugs, because they used to have uncontrolled diarrhea. He hoarded so bad, that the city didn’t allow us going up to the 2nd floor for safety hazards. Until my parents had to bring a company to clean it up. I remember that we also found lots and lots of dildos. Next to vodka bottles filled piss, and semen.
