2 things I love about this board: cables are just cabling around unrestrained, and that GLS audio cable. Nick is for real. This is very un-youtube-guitar-channel content.

Loved this! Tasty tones, and an actual "guitar-forward" board walk-through. The joy you have as a player comes through, and I love that you avoid the PnW pedal board status quo with a sense of humor and great tones that could work about anywhere musically. I would love to hear you create more of this content!

Thanks so much for showing off the Opaque Drive! I made it cause I wasn't really getting the right balance of bite, punch, and compression out of any overdrive pedal or modeler. I use it to boost (or overdrive) my favorite tube amplifiers, Friedman's BE families and Peavey's 6505 formula, but come Sundays I'll put the Gold side in soft mode and go into a solid-state Quilter or whatever AC15/Deville the church may have lying around.

@worshipartistry7 ай бұрын
thanks dude! I set them the same as far as the EQ/gain/volume/etc....but I do use two different IR's. I use the WT Bogner Duende cab IR + the Super 100jh cab IR. Sometimes I'll adjust the bass in the EQ to flavor, since the super 100 cab IR is a bit more bassy

Are those Revv D 20 loud enough for gigs? Also how’s the quality of this amps?
@worshipartistry5 ай бұрын
They are absolutely loud enough. I play out with them and 1x12 cab and I've never had any complaints. But what is super cool to me, is the XLR out on them with virtual (IR) cabs, which sounds great and gives you a quiet stage if you need that with a clean signal to FOH. The quality is very good, they sound fantastic, and are built well. They also have some lunchbox style ones in metal enclosures, which are built well too. You can't go wrong with REVV, great customer service too.

Nick, why amps, pedals and not Helix, Kemper or Fractal?
@worshipartistry7 ай бұрын
great question, probably not a great answer haha...I do have a quad cortex and throughly enjoy it. I have owned a Helix and I do own a HX stomp (use it for amps sometimes, but mostly for FX anymore) and mainly use digital solutions for quick things where I can only bring a gigbag or something and it fits in the front pocket. I have actually many times taken my Jennings and quad cortex with just a gigbag and it was a wonderful time. But I really just prefer the way the tube amps take drives. It's just better to me, even while using the virtual cabs on the D20. I think modelers are great, there's nothing wrong with them, I just prefer amps really. These D20's weigh like 9 pounds each or something, so they are nothing to carry in, they sound fantastic and it's the amp I really want, especially with the cabs built in and has the xlr out. Now if I was into like HUGE amps all the time, I'd probably only use the quad cortex with a capture of it when playing live. But these are no inconvenience at all.

Truth is church players aren’t usually full time musicians which means they actually make money. 😉 It’s more of a hobby and people spend money on their hobbies. The irony is when I was full time gigging and actually needed decent gear on a daily basis I couldn’t afford it. Such is life.
