Stop people like you are the main reason this country can't unite. This int labor this is a way for many people especially people from less fortunate backgrounds to change their life. As for degree's etc, that's on the student the blame goes directly on them nobody else. People need to hold thier selves accountable and get shit done! no more blamming and expecting shit from anyone damn.

More positive by FAR comes from college football programs like this than negative. Do I and MANY others (coaches included) think players should benefit for their likeness and other marketable items.. YES.. and in time this will be sorted out -- but when a video game company (EA) aren't willing to work out terms on a single game which makes BILLIONS each year (NCAA XX) because the courts have ruled players must be paid for their likeness -- then we have a long way to go. Still -- is it better to REMOVE collegiate athletics.. specifically football programs? Or To keep them? OBVIOUSLY to keep them -- players earn scholarships which they get degrees with for free (Alabama's grad rate is near 100% among players now) -- Coaches like Saban (and his staff to some degree) help prepare these players (the ones you see on the field and the guys who never make the field) for LIFE at a pivotal time in their lives.. at an impressionable time in their lives whether they go on to the NFL or not. The vast majority of players who played under Saban at Alabama will come back and full admit that Nick Saban and Alabama was CRITICAL to their success now financially AND as men. This is valuable. Go complain to those who can do something about it -- The NCAA, perhaps conference commissioners (who would have pull/influence) etc. Not youtube comment sections to fans or coaches or players who really can't do anything. Maybe if 50 Million people got together and protested for players to make money they would .. but why aren't people doing this ? Because collegiate players are already benefiting -- and we have MUCH larger issues to be concerned about honestly that people are still too apathetic to 'fight'.

RH - I do not know what your football background may be, but I do not think that you have a realistic view. There is no other sport that brings this kind of attention to such a low number of contests on a national stage. The young men who play can reap great financial rewards,and, if they do what they are supposed to do, get free undergraduate AND postgraduate degrees in the process. It is my understanding,and confirmation, ,that injured players do KEEP their scholarships. I understand your point, but the schools have programs to make these degrees available to the student-athletes who wish to earn them.

He deserves the $11 million dollar he makes.. Alabama has made so much money since Saban became a head coach and the players have the best dorms, nutritionists, gym area, lounge area, equipment, apparel, coaches, strength and conditioning and lord knows what else.. They are also on tv every week!! That's why players sign with BAMA after visiting the campus because no other college can offer what BAMA offers!! Alabama is also a pipeline to the NFL!

Everyone hates on Alabama but honestly they’re the only team in the SEC and NCAA that works as hard as they do. No other team can outwork them. The athletic department hires the best coaches and recruiting staff there is. There are a lot of games I can say that they honestly should have lost or wondered how they won but it’s because they want it more than the other team! It pays to be a winner.

What bama fans are sad/mad if the playoffs are changed? I know I'm fine with it either way. More spots made = higher chance Alabama is in them (despite Alabama being 100% in playoffs so far) -- It actually makes it more likely Alabama wins as it gives Bama a bit of Wiggle room and it makes it more likely SEC National Championships occur in the future.

@GuessTechSports7 жыл бұрын
Course he doesn't tell them the money he makes.. They all KNOW what he makes.. it's public knowledge. His LITERAL contract is in PDF form on the internet. Come on man. All of these top coaches make 'similar' money -- A lower paid P5 coach STILL makes millions per year -- and coordinators are making multi-millions a year now at many spots. Don't paint Nick Saban in a negative light because he's being paid a lot of money. He makes the people PAYING him 100's of millions every year. He's underpaid if you want to get down to brass tacks.
@roadtoad77047 жыл бұрын
That $11 million is not per year. The latest contract, signed last year, kept Saban's salary the same. He was given a $3 million signing bonus making it $11 million for 1 year only. Actually, Saban is only the 3rd highest paid coach, behind Harbaugh and Jimbo Fisher.

It's HOW Cam's DAD got that money that was the issue not the money itself. Cam was going to the NFL obviously.. Although Cam did exhibit some negative behavior when he stole the laptop(s).. but we all make mistakes and that's still, imo, fairly minor. Nick has made a ton of money -- When you are the best at what you do.. that tends to happen. Of course he cares about money -- money is a facilitator for everyone. It's a catalyst for people who aren't interested in "Money" to have the resources to do the "GOOD" things they wish to do and make a significant impact. Nick Saban has his own Charitable organization "Nick's Kids".. he doesn't JUST give to Charity .. He runs one. Nick earnestly cares about his players future .. he's not putting on a show. Saban doesn't have to.. at this point.. Win over ANYONE. His accomplishments have long since secured him a job as the HC for as long as he wishes to Coach. he could be as grumpy, mean.. and NON philanthropic as he wants right now. WIth that he still does MORE than he ever has for others.. why do you think that is? I'm sick of people who think people who have money.. like Nick Saban.. = Bad.. and people without money = Good. That's now how humankind works.

GuessTechSports you should probably go to the doctor because you're also making an argument from your own mind and and you still failed the test of reality. Who said people with money or evil? Only you. Who said people without money or not evil? Only you. Charities a nice butt you don't know that 90% of them are profit base meaning they are a business and regardless of what you hear their main goal is to stay in business so they can pay the people that work there. And just think about it he's coaching players has made a lot of money off of it and so now you saying he's a philanthropist when the players I'm not able to get anything but a so-called education. They can pull the scholarships anytime so don't let that player loses speed I don't let that player loses hands but catching a ball what is amazing when the player is not actually smart enough for college but fast enough for the football team that still there. What about the players who don't make it? It's amazing how the coaches make it even when they get fired they get the remainder of their contract but when the player gets fired it don't get the remainder of the scholarship. You can remove all the coaches from all the football teams and you still will have a winner at the end of the season because the players are the ones who actually of the more important piece of the puzzle but they get nothing so why should I care about a coach. He may be a good man but I will not believe it commercial from ESPN like some of my gullible brothers out there and some of my gullible sisters. Who cares how a father receive funding for a house if his player is that good and don't ever believe a story in its entirety. I just purchase a house last month actually and it took years and a lot of hard work to get where I'm at but I can tell you when I was Cam Newton age and my father did what he had to do to get a house for our family I would be proud. The problem is with you is you think people are stealing Furman University when actually the universities are stealing from the players.
