I'm a Bama fan but I gotta be honest: As proud as I am that they fought back, they don't look like a championship caliber team. The last two seasons really seem to be missing really good on field leadership especially on Defense. When we lost Dylan Moses and Josh McMillan before the season I figured this was going to be a big hurdle at some point and I believe that was the biggest difference today.

Eric Williams there was a ton of yards off rushing lol. It’s not just about a team being balanced. It’s a lot harder to defend against the spread. It’s doesn’t matter if your playing traditional umbrella style power football. The offense spreads the defense and makes u show coverages a lot more then the past.

Just giving up the explosive offense wouldn’t of made the game that much closer unless u can play power football plus stop and explosive team and not give up any big plays putting u behind. If u play power football and get behind u have to then abandon it which then u have to create a team that is focused on that. Then u don’t have play making ability to catch up.

This was actually our last hoorah season for quite some time imo. Our defense has been getting worse every season and we will lose the majority of our receivers and Tua next season so it's fair to say our offense will take a large step back. Basically, it feels like the Bama dynasty is winding down.

During the first half it seemed to me Alabama had no will or championship heart I am used to seeing. Alabama showed their inner strength the 2nd half. They never gave up. Don't blame the players for the bad coaching !! We should have went to the locker room to adjust, AT WORST down 19-13, with 2:30 seconds left we had a 2nd and 3, we hike the ball with 20 seconds left on the play clock instead of milking it, AND we throw a pass AWAY out of bounds to set up a 3rd and 3 that we fail to get. We should have milked the clock, RAN THE DAMNED BALL, then ran it again IF NEEDED on 3rd and 1 and milked the clock down to one minute or so before we started using hurry up mode, them maybe we get a TD or FG and its 20-19 or 10-16 at worst. Not only do we screw that up and allow them to get at our dead tired defense, BEFORE we can make half time adjustments, but then we try a PASS and get an interception with 25 seconds left on the clock, leading to another TD before half when there was almost no chance of even getting in FG range at that point in time !! Now we were shaft]d by the Refs on that catch, he WAS NOT PUSHED OUT, and he never REESTABLISHED, meaning he has to get both feet back in BEFORE he can touch the ball. The foot that backed out on his own volition, never reestablished. The players on defense have 5 starters out for the year. We lose boat loads of Jrs to the draft every year and of course many Srs so those 5 injuries to starters was always going to make this defense very suspect, the last thing they needed was for Saban to given the other team a free 14 points right before the half, Saban lost that game.

LSU is REALLY good this year. Bama can’t win every game against teams this good. I suspect the difference in strength of schedule really helped LSU and hurt Alabama at the start of the game because LSU was already battle tested and prepared for a team this good. It took Bama 3 quarters to adjust

I'm a Michigan fan. And I used to not be able to stand it that Alabama was so good, for so long. But I've come to an understanding that Nick Saban is a fantastic coach, and an interesting person. If Alabama had been sharp in the 1st half they would have likely won. They got too far in a hole though. I don't see a reason why Alabama should fall out of the top 4. These 2 teams could meet again this year. I am sure Alabama will be sharp from the word go then. That could be a game for the centuries.

And call it an excuse or whatever. It's just a fact that Tua wasn't 100 percent, and the LB's for Bama were targets the whole game against LSU, the young inexperienced LB's at that. Given the remainder of the season, and more games under their belt, and a healthy Tua(and I hate saying that because it does look like an excuse,but you cant help what happens to a player when it's an injury. LSU fan here. It wasn’t a great game like everyone says. LSU should have won by 3-4 touchdowns seeing as how this was the worst fundamental game I’ve seen Bama play in a long long time. I think you play this game 10 times and Bama still wins 6-7 of them. LSU has the youngest and weakest defense I’ve seen in 10 years. I’d make a bet that Bama finds a way into the tournament and manages to beat everyone in typical Bama fashion. I hope LSU keeps rolling, but 1 offensive injury and they’re screwed. We’ll see how everything plays out in the next few weeks

You know if Bama played the first half the way they played the second half this game would have swung the other way. The only time I've watched a team just flat out beat Bama recently was Clemson.

There are lot of different takes from this game: #1. LSU looks like they can score on anybody. Anyone who has played or coached can see that the LSU O has a tremendous scheme and players. #2. for everybody trashing Bama's D, they have a bunch of freshman and sophomores all over the place, and the seniors and juniors are the ones who looked the worst. Not to mention the defense basically held LSU to 6 points for most of the second half and were dealt short fields quite a bit in the first half. #3. The stupid mistakes in the first half came back to bite the team in the butt. The pick by tua, the punter fumble added up to 10 crucial points. #4 both coordinators were/are awful. Golding is ok, but for F$&k's sake can you teach people how to blitz. All year long we blitz and it sucks and gets picked up. Our guys don't understand how to blitz. Sark called an awful first half. LSU was all over the LOS. #5. Our LB's indeed suck, but that is youth and inexerprience. I feel comfortable saying if Moses was out there Burrow and Helaire wouldnt have had the same success. It's hard to get good LB play out of the cards that have been dealt. #6. I'm a bama fan, they didnt deserve to win this game and in the end they might not deserve to go to the CFP. The schedule is awful and this is a "good" loss, but you've got to worry about the PAC 12 and the big 10. Right now here's my 4: 1 LSU 2 Ohio St. 3 Clemson 4 ????????? Minnesota Bama needs to hope the Pac 12 falls apart and that the big 12 falls apart

It’s was painful to watch the 1st quarter! Between the poor playing not controlling the ball and the bad sportsmanship. We did not play Bama type ball! We must control emotions and penalties! because with the receivers Alabama has and 2 timeouts the goal was to try to get a couple of plays and play for a field goal. It didn't workout because Tua made a bad decision but that is not a bad coaching call. Alabama scored a TD in the 4th quarter on a bomb that only took 1 play and 16 seconds.

mike boyer Yes, and I was gonna mention the one play TD in my comment, but unfortunately, that TD has no correlation to the INT before half simply bc it happened after the INT. Saban couldn’t have predicted the one play TD all the way before halftime. If the one play TD happened before the INT, I would actually see why he would go for it. Also, I don’t think it was a bad play on Tua per se, I think Patrick Queen just did his job perfectly, and he jumped the route perfectly. The receiver looked pretty open to Tua, but when he threw the ball Queen jumped it and picked it off.

I saw this. I saw no pressure dialed up on df . Three times isn’t enough against a team like lsu . LSU has been on fire all year. Perhaps get our dc in check coach. Clearly he isn’t. Tua made a big mistake on first drive at the scoring position. O line did not give him proper protection in first half. We made penalties turn overs at critical moments . It is what it is. Najee had a great game though. Which hasn’t been as well this season. I saw some things in first and second half both. They fought back in. That was a job well done. Myself I’d like to see a little more pressure dialed up from our df against these better teams . It makes a huge difference.

I said in the spring that this would be the year that the gross lack of ability in retaining coaches, injuries, etc would fully manifest the problems in the is program, and that Bama wouldn’t be in the SEC championship or playoffs. Go ahead everyone, tell me I’m crazy, bad “team spirit” etc. That’s cool. I also said that LSU would win this game and it wouldn’t be close. Yes, the score was close but this wasn’t close. Coach Saban, has done an amazing job and is the GOAT, however he is checked out, and will retire in less than 2 years. It’s clear the fire in his belly is no longer there. Now on to Tua... I also said in the spring that Tua wasn’t an NFL QB, and wouldn’t win the biggest games. Currently, Tua is 1-3. All other games are trash games and the ONLY ones that matter are the wins that really count. If Saban doesn’t get his fire back, retain coaches this is a wrap for this run which has been unreal, and amazing to watch. Go ahead everyone, tee off on me. It’s a free country. Saban played an injured Tua 99% of the plays. Tua blatantly dropped the ball for no reason. Refs turned a blind eye to penalties and an "expert" didn't catch the LSU player out of bounds for the controversial catch. Above all, Alabama seemed to have forgotten they had a game tonight and were too busy daydreaming for the game. Horrible game. Saban needs to start putting faith into his 2nd and 3rd stringers because Tua proves he's not the best all the time. I hope Tua sits out the rest of the games to recover and send Saban a stern message after tonight. LSU finally won after 9 years trying, but it wasn't 100% theirs thabks to some blind refs, blind "experts" and Bama not having their head in the game.

Well I give Tua credit but he absolutely has to be the leader and Make leadership decisions by protecting the ball. 2 unforced turnovers 3 if you count the fumbled snap by the punter. No excuse there. We keep saying don't waste a failure but the defense never improved. Mental breakdowns. Horrible gap discipline the whole game. Its unacceptable. Its not the Bama way and sadly this defense is what it is. Its not playoff caliber defense by a long shot. I think we drop in the polls to about 7. We will need major help to get back in it. Poor preparation on the defense really showed.

We are the better team hands down!! Went to the game very sloppy play. Tua fumbles within the 10 no one touched him ,punter misses snap, refs killed us on spots etc. Take nothing from lsu. We lost we didnt get beat.Real Young up front 3 freshman d lineman. Lsu took advantage of that. Joe was taking a nap in that pocket.We literally gave them 2 tds on a platter, but those have time adjustments were great. 1stop we win. Davanta Smith went for over 200 on stingley

Chit... under the radar, playing nobody, CLEMSON hiding, is honestly the best team in cfp. Best defense hands down when the starters are playing. 42 - 0 at halftime against nc state. I don't know how turnovers turned into 14 points. However, if it is, he made up for 14 points and 2 more tds. on 1 foot. Plus he threw 4 to 5 balls that were catchable but didn't. On defence , if they are going to double team than 1 player that's in the front needs to go and intercept the ball. They both wait until receiver catches the ball. I've been saying this for along time now. That''s common sense!

I personally don't see how you could leave Bama out. Yes, we lost. Yes, we r most likely out of the SEC championship game. But if the playoffs are meant for the four best teams then i simply can't see why Bama would not be in. If Bama is going to be discredited for a loss against a #2 rank team then I don't see who would take our place. Clemson will be in the top 4 but who will take Penn State's place? Wouldn't make sense after a Georgia loss to unranked South Carolina. Please reply and let me know what u think!
