Gotta agree. He was like the Tony Romo of the NCAA Wrestling Championships. For many years, it's been vanilla. Jeff Blatnick was amazing with his commentary. Watch the Rob Rohn (Lehigh) finals match. Jeff called everything correctly after Rohn's cement job. But I liked DC -- he's reaching the younger generation. That's what this sport needs.

He worked for turns the whole time but just had little opportunity against Suriano, who was doing all he could just to prevent giving Glory an opening. I agree that the better wrestler won, but disagree with anyone who thinks that Glory was doing anything but trying to score points for the entire bout.

I'm not happy he left Rutgers either Robert, but we have no idea his reasons. He left to try and make the Olympics, so maybe things changed when he tried to return. It definitely looks like he wasn't supported by the coaches in Penn State when he got injured, so that appears to be the reason he left there. There's a few options in MMA nowadays.....I'd assume he'd wanna go the best one right now. He's gotta start training specifically for that first though, so he's a ways away.

Even if lee came back this year it wouldve been a still recovering and not fully healthy lee vs a healthy and more offensive than we've ever seen suriano due to his time in freestyle than in previous years. I dont know who would win bc im convinced lee can turn just about anyone on top but from a neutral position which is likely where it wouldve been and those key factors playing in, i think suriano probably wouldve had the edge just by a little. That first time they wrestled in college suriano lost but he was also injured and he only time he beat lee was as a freshmen and lee a 8th grader. Healthy im takin lee but odds this year wouldbe been suriano

@@joeyvecchione2911 he did but he got surgery and with the time it takes sat out, and trying to fully recover from that i think suriano wouldve had the edge. I like both wrestlers and i'd prolly take lee anyday over suriano but bc of that factor i cant see it being anymore than either a 5-4 or a 3-2 at worst 7-2 in favor of suriano bc of it being more shots and lee not being able to get off too many attacks of his own. However freestyle coming up maybe we'll see lee back and him duke it out with suriano again which i think lee is the better freestyle wrestler of the two but upsets happen so ya never know fs

Ref is so quick with both the count and the whistle. He thinks it's Suriano that stole his lunch but it's the guy in the fifth row back eating a sandwich.

That was to close for comfort. Nick had to put some excitement into the otherwise boring/conservative match

Has Suriano set any type of NCAA record for having different National titles under different teams? lol ..Btw i wish DC commentated all NCAA Nationals. With his UFC stuff, idk how that would work. I just really like his insight, and expert opinion. Just a great commentator all around

What's crazy is there should have been a 5 seconds on the leg stall call at the end of period 2 which means the match should have been 4-4 and Glory wouldn't have cut Suriano.

@Mark Huf then why waste your time saying anything? I just thought it was something interesting to point out dude, no need to be a dick. I didn't care who won, but you can see there's 5 seconds on the clock when Suriano is on the leg at the end of period 2.
