Ty Agaisse was a 3 time finalist, 1 time champ with both loses coming to Suriano. It definitely wasn't no walk in the park.

They probably had a plaque for Agaisse just in case.

Nick Suriano could have been one of the great ones! Even coming from a 1A level high school he got accepted to the Penn State program under Cael Sanderson he just imploded after his loss to Gilman and started quittting. He quit Penn State, he quit the Olympic trials after he lost to Tomasello refusing to even wrestle his consolation matches, he quit Rutgers bacause they said he wouldn't wrestle as a starter against Micic, I think he has now missed 3 opportunitites to win an NCAA title after losing to Lee at 125lbs.

Lol he’s one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of jersey. He never lost and won it 4 times. NJ is no joke whatsoever . Nick is a two time national finalist and a national champion, Rutgers’ first champ ever. He’s ridiculous on the freestyle circuit as well. He beat a solid wrestler in daton fix in the finals, he ain’t no slouch. You have no idea what you are talking about .Stop hating man he probably beat that ass up or someone close to you . Hater

There is way more to the story than what you just told. Nick is and always will be a champ with heart.

NJ is rated #37 out of 50 in high school level wrestling. Suriano also went to a 1A school - not a 6A or 7A. That's why he looked so sad against Gilman. Losing wasn't something he was used to - YET. Now he has 8 or 9 losses. Maybe going to high school in Iowa, Oklahoma or Pennsylvania would have better prepared him for college level wrestling?

where did you get those stats from? NJ is one of the 3 toughest states for highschool wrestling. Also even if you think that, which isn't true, Suriano went to bergen catholic which traveled all around the country to wrestle

Using Flow Wrestling's rankings of 470 individuals nationally, They gave each state 10 points for an individual that appeared in the Top 20 and 5 points for an individual appearing in the honorable mention section. Additionally, they added 20 points for a #1 ranking, 19 for a #2 ranking, 18 for #3, and so on, down to 1 point for a #20 ranking. So, a #20 position equals 11 points total and a #1 position equals 30 points total. These points give each state a “Total Depth” rating. NJ did not do very well. Nobody talks about the 5 matches Suriano lost in the Super32 and other tournaments that did not count against his record. He's strong, tough and fit - just not a great wrestler.

Ask anyone that knows anything about wrestling and they will tell you NJ is probably the second best state in the country for wrestling. what you wrote is one of the most insane statements I have ever read.

@@davidraine4657 You must be from NJ - sorry - I just call it like it is - no offense meant. You have to remember that some states have so many 6A and 7A schools they easily field a team with wrestlers 4 and 5 deep at every weight class.
