It should be noted that Stockton 100% would have a couple rings with a shot this good. The whole post season fell apart and the Suns definitely had the most ideal path in the West. Giannis winning will make a lot of other players look like straight up busters. Too many players look elsewhere for blame instead of looking at what they need to do to approve. They take the easy way out. It wasn't impossible for Durant to win a title in OKC, he just didn't want to do the work necessary to make it happen. It wasn't impossible for Harden in Houston either.

Although Giannis has deficiencies, his proficiencies make up for many of those deficiencies. Shaq could never shoot, but he was still the best in the league. Chris Broussard is doing some revisionist history here. Every year other than maybe 2014 and 2015 the winner of finals MVP was viewed by many to be the best player in the world. After Dirk and the Mavs won the the 2011 NBA Finals ESPN came out with a rankings of the best NBA players in the world, and LeBron was number one on that list. Skip and Stephen A. Had a fit the next day on first take, and thought Dirk should've been number one. Won LeBron won it back to back titles everyone accepted he was the best in the world. The season after the Warriors won it all Steph was declared the best in the world by any pundits, and he went on to become the first unanimous MVP in NBA history! He was later dethroned in the finals by LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, and LeBron was once again back on top. The next two years Kevin Durant won Finals MVP and was thought as the best in the world by many pundits. In 2019 when the Raptors won it all Kawhi was viewed as the best player in the world with LeBron and Kevin Durant both coming off injuries. In 2020 when the Lakers won the chip LeBron was once again viewed as the best player in the world. You can go even further back when Kobe and Dwade being declared by many pundits as the best in the world when they won it all.

There’s always going be some kind of injury. Those aren’t excuses, injuries are part of the game gotta stay in shape. Stop giving them a pass when every time a teammate of Lebrons gets injured you guys destroy him over it

Sorry but during the 2011 playoffs Dirk was the best player in the world. Beat Kobe and Pau then KD, Russ and Harden then Lebron Wade and Bosh as the only all-star on his team = best in the world.

I just realized how bad a take this was from Brousard. At this time Giannis was a two time reigning MVP and had won defensive player of the year. Of course winning the title would cement him as the best player in the league 😂😂.

How is CP3 not #1? He ain't getting younger so if he doesn't get a title he'll be joining the ringless club with charles, stockon, malone & co. Giannis is still young so he still has plenty of chances.
