LeBron James just went down 3-0 in the 2018 NBA Finals at the hands of Kevin Durant who exploded in Game 3 with 43 points and 13 boards. Knowing that King James has a heavy decision on his hands in free agency, Nick Wright reveals to Cris Carter and Jenna Wolfe the cataclysmic consequences for the sport of basketball if LeBron joins KD, Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors.

Let's see Larry Hughes was a borderline all-star in Washington before he joined the Cavs, Chris Bosh went from being a dominate 20 10 guy to almost useless at times, Kevin Love almost a 30 and 10 guy goes to being almost useless, Rodney Hood goes from 16ppg to like 6, Jordan Clarkson seemed like a promising young star averaging 15+ppg on Lakers. But LeBron makes all his teammates better? Getting a pass to a open shooter who can shoot is completely different than making a player better. Duncan made Tony, Manu and Kawahi better cause they are successful even without him, Kobe and Shaq made each other better by pushing each other and their teammates like Derek Fisher. Hakeem made Maxwell, Kenny, Horry better. Jordan made Pippen a top 50 player, there's no way Scottie becomes that without MJ pushing him in practice. Who was Steve Kerr before the Bulls? And what did he become after? Making teammates better means they actually become better as a player and stay that way without you. LeBron makes great passes but they're too open shooters who can already shoot. What can they do when either he's not playing or not open? I could easily argue LeBron does not actually make his teammates better, he just gives more willing to give the ball to the open man.
@AG-er5vmTG

I agree. There really is a difference between making your players better and an unselfish ball dominant player who always makes the right pass.. especially when that right pass is to guys standing still.

It's not all about numbers/stats, while playing with better players Lebrons numbers also declined. From year 2 in Cleveland Lebron was averaging at least 27.2ppg - since he went to Miami it happened only once, and that happened this season. Both Bosh and Love weren't making the playoffs, Hood wasn't on the team long enough to gel in (he proved in gm3 that he was underused this season).The season Lebron left Bosh's numbers went up again, but his efficiency went down (he went from shooting 54 & 52% to 46%), and by playing with Lebron Bosh expanded his game and became a 3 point threat. Using the same logic you could say that Hakeem made Kenny worse, because Kenny went from an 18/8 guy to 11/4 in the championship seasons. Glen Rice went from 22ppg to 15ppg onn the championship Lakers team, Ron Harper was a 20/6/5 guy in 93/94 and averaged 7ppg in 95/96. If you're gonna use simple numbers you'll get to see that on bad teams players stats go up while playing with lesser talent. Once KD left Westbrook averaged a triple double - twice. Is he a better player today? I dont think so. Back to the Bulls - Steve Kerr joined the Bulls in 93/94, as did Toni Kukoc. This team almost beat the Knicks in that seasons playoffs, not because MJ made them better, but Phil Jacksons system made them better. Not to mention the increase in stats Pippen, Grant & BJ Armstrong had. This is why MJ couldn't win before Jackson came, it wasn't because of him, Phil pushed them all. The exact season Jackson joined the Lakers they won the title - Del Harris couldn't do it with Shaq, Kobe & Rice. So I'm not sure about the logic that because the Bulls played much better without MJ, this means that MJ was the better team player. I really don't understand your logic. If you had a car and your tire went flat, you can easily replace it with another one. But if your engine goes down, you're in for a big change and have real problems. Lebron definitely helped make Kyrie better just by the fact that Kyrie got the chance to compete in the playoffs, finals etc. Without that experience no way he could be the talent he is.

So this "All time best player ever" has only performed well when he joins a team full of really good players facing a team with 1 great player and nothing else? Where was all this top 50 talk in the Rockets series or when he was on OKC? It's easy to play well when there is no pressure. What do we remember great players for? Shots at the buzzer or 4th and 1 in the 4th quarter, rising to the occasion. As A kid everyone said "Jordan at the buzzer," as we threw a shot up. What are going to say about KD, "Up by 20, playing inferior teams, never good enough to carry a team on his own, but goes for 30+ in lopsided competition." These commentators and journalists have thoroughly disrespected Le Bron since day 1, they are so thirsty to discredit him and give praise to everyone else. It's getting pathetic at this point. If LeBron was on the Warriors, they would have won the finals in 2 games. KD is not the reason the Warriors win, he contributes to the wins, but LeBron is THE REASON every team he's on wins. Period. Remove LeBron and KD from these teams and the warriors still go, at least the WC finals, but the Cav's wouldn't win 40 games without LeBron. KD will never be seen as the best player.

what's your name? Im not saying he isnt a great player (on court skills) but his performance on this warriors team isnt more impressive than Lebron's on this Cavs team. He has always been really good, but not great (at least he hasnt shown it) becuase his points never seem to be the difference in his team winning or losing. Game 1 Lebron went off. KD was invisible. Game 2 Curry went off, KD had similar numbers but qas invisible. Up 2 games against this scrub Cleveland swuad and he has a great game and now its time to crown him the best player? They were up by 3 and he hit a 3 in the end. That counts as great nowdays. Hitting a 3 with no consequences, if you miss, is clutch nowdays and worth discussion and praise?

True KD has had Westbrook(Prime), Harden, Curry(Prime), Klay(Prime), Draymond(Prime), and Iggy Lebron has had Wade, Bosh(non existent), Ray Allen(literally at the end of his career and far out of his prime), Kyrie, and Love(who has been non existent in the playoffs until this year) Overall KD has had much more help on a single team than Lebron has had on a single team

Lebron is better than KD, but I honestly want to see lebron just embrace what these folks blame him for. Go create another super team in Houston and take it to the Warriors region and beat them. EVERYONE, who loves basketball wants to see the dynasty get knocked out. It happened with my Heat in 2014 and it’s about time for the Warriors to get what’s coming to them. What would it do? They already deluded themselves into thinking Lebron made the first superteam, may as well make another one and compete. This is a different era, he isn’t gonna be able to take out 4 all stars by himself. No one can.

I'm not giving KD credit Cris Carter. Joined a 73 win team, didn't show up in game 1 which could have changed the series, and now is clutch with 2 games in hand and 3pts ahead with less than a minute in game 3. You're acting like he just decided a close series. All he did was secure a sweep, and prove how badly he's ruined competition in this league.

Or...... He came back to his hometown despite the utter incompetence on the part of the owner and front office. The only reason he did it is because he happens to be born in the area. He brought home the chip, and owes that city absolutely nothing. Lucky they had him as long as they did. If he wasn't from the area, he wouldnt have come back. I still don’t understand why cris Carter would say its lebron fault Durant chose to go to the warriors. He do know lebron didn’t go join the Celtics. He do know Lebron didn’t have a top 5 player in Russell Westbrook on his team before his departure. He do know Miami wasn’t the well oiled warriors machine that had just won 73 games. He must have forgot how Miami was still tested & it was never a cakewalk. Warriors went 16-1 last year in the postseason. I hope he knows d wade wasn’t considered a #1 player in the world like curry was at the time when Durant came. Klay scored 37 in a quarter and has put up 60. Draymond 2 defensive players of the year awards. What bosh got? Lebron still had to lead them in points rebounds and assist more times than any other player ever in the nba. So even with d wade and bosh that isn’t the same luxury as having Steph, klay, and draymond period!!!

Lebron went to another star player's team. That star player already won a finals mvp. He didn't go to Boston because they would not have enough to sign him and they were rivals. OKC and gsw were not rivals. In fact gsw was after KD since 2012. There's articles on espn where Durant was planning on going there because he became close with curry when he played on team USA in 2012. LeBron literally called bosh and Melo and tried to get them to form a super team. Melo took the money. But at the end of the day lebron left to go team up with another star player. That star player did not come join lebron.

KD doesn't have the pressure on him to be the best player/leader on this team, even though he's good enough to be. This makes the game so much easier for him, and makes these Warriors literally impossible to beat in a 7 game series. They were already champions before his arrival. Adding KD on this team is like having a cheat code.

KD doesnt deserve any praise in my opinion, everyone hated him to join a 73-9 win team, and before the first game we already knew this team would be unstoppable, and that he would be the best player in that team, so why would he doing what was expected of him (it would actually be humilliating if he didnt accomplish what he did), deserves more praise than what he did in OKC? for me, he is the same player he was in okc, i actually lost tons of respect after that

So are we really piping up a guy dropping 40 vs the worst team out of the East in the last 12yrs, WITH a horrible defense. While having 4 all stars and a deep bench? Game 1 one was robbed and the other 2 have been competitive down the stretch despite the overwhelming advantages GS has. I think we we're all expecting 20pt blowouts by the 3rd quarter from GS.

Would you rather go to the hall of fame with no rings, or have rings but just an ok career? It is a simple A or B scenario. Leave KD and LeBron out of it. Would (any of) you prefer championships over an immortal career? Whichever way you answer says a lot about what you really value.

KD has made it almost impossible to praise him without recognising that he has less of a burden to carry. So LeBron gets 51 with a shot team while KD gets 41 with a two time mvp who was unanimous and the greatest shooter of all time and a top 2 or 3 shooter in klay nd draymond and igudola another finals mvp.

Cleveland at the trade deadline decided to remove virtually all finals experience and personnel whom have played at an all star level, and send them away for role players. If they retained Kyrie, the lineup would have been Kyrie, Wade, Bron, Love and Thompson, with Rose as 6th man with Korver. Cavs have no one to blame but themselves for this
