Correction: Witcher 3 cost roughly 80 million*** Can you imagine if the game was built with 80 billion?! That would be incredible... and impossible! Also, remember: the witcher 1 is free right now! Grab it while you can :) you must use the link in the description above! Please support this channel on Patreon: www.patreon.com/Nick930 You'll get early access to next months documentary, along with personalized shout-outs, behind the scenes videos and images, and with enough support - I can scale back those ads so you guys can tune in and enjoy an uninterrupted experience. Thank you all for tuning in. This video took more time than I anticipated - simply because there's so much great information about this franchise and how it relates to the expansion of the Polish video game industry. It was especially fun getting to experience the original game for the first time, as it was surprisingly good. It's definitely dated - but give it a try and see for yourself! I hope you enjoy this in-depth look at the Witcher, and stay tuned in the coming weeks for more comparison videos - along with another documentary coming soon in February! :)

Witcher 1 is a great game with a nice story and characters but you absolutely have to mod it in 2021 because of how awfully dated it looks now, UI especially. The mod called Rise of the White Wolf is a good start. And a few other visual mods from nexusmods, for better textures etc.

It didn't help that there was also constant pressure from outside to get it out faster, instead of trusting them with time to get the game as close to it's best state possible before release. I find it ironic that people bring up development time frame being so long, but don't get that something with such lofty detail expectations is going to need time to make sure it is balanced. The more it is forced to be rushed, the more unpolished, as the current version showed. I think people trying to sue them over it is equally wrong, because that could hurt their overall survival. I do appreciate CDP's dedication to their relationships with gamers, and giving refunds to the ones that wanted it...though I think those that did are going to end up buying it again when the stuff gets worked out, but continue their toxic attitude that has been prevalent online, for that "I told you so" mentality.

Great video man!! I’m currently giving Wild Hunt a replay. Such an incredible game, I think this is the absolute most fun and immersive experience I’ve ever had in my 35 years of gaming. A true masterpiece! Sucks CDPR dropped the ball on Cyberpunk but hey everyone falls from time to time, I hope they can resolve all their issues with the game and come out better for it. I like the idea of a 4th game based around Ciri, would be a great way for them to capitalize on next-gen hardware to see how far they can push the envelope with the Red Engine!

@@vladdietheladdie7345 id love it if they would make a witcher game where you play as vesemir in singleplayer, when theres a lot of witchers and competition, before the massacres. They could then add a dlc where you make your own witcher and play in online accepting contracts, travelling the world and etc.
@yusafmalik51713 жыл бұрын
I personally don't think it would be that great. The wither is brilliant because of how much more linear it is and it follows an established thought out character who belongs in the world. If you do what cyberpunk did and make it more customisable it looses a lot of the story and memorable moments that the witcher had. I'd rather play as someone who has already been in the world and had personal effects on it already than play as someone new who has to discover it all. Then again I don't hate the idea as it does work really well in certain games. I just don't think it would be great in this world as its a lot of work for the deva and they could veer off their original idea. Lastly I'm not sure the guy who made the books would approve of it very much
@mr.verygood61863 жыл бұрын
@@yusafmalik5171 @Yusaf Malik well the person that made the books gave them the rights to do what they want, but I agree the story shouldnt be about a random witcher unless it takes place a long time ago. Like I said, the best way is if we have a singleplayer story mode with a specific character, like young vesemir competing against the many other witchers (before the massacre), and a multiplayer as a dlc with customizable characters but of no real story implications.

Great job :) A well-drawn background of the games. I have only one exception - Sapkowski initially modeled fairy tales and legends (Polish and European) in a funny way, weaving them into his world, more then the Tolkien and alike literature. If you want to be even more precise, you can also add some minor details: In the years 1993-1995 a comic book was created in 6 volumes by Bogusław Polch (graphic), Maciej Parowski, and Sapkowski himself (script). In 2001, a paper RPG game and a Polish TV series were created. In 2007, Breakpoint studio released a game written in Java for mobile phones: The Witcher: Bloody Trail. In 2008, there was also the internet game The Witcher: Versus by CD Projekt Red and One2tribe (closed on May 31, 2012).

To say cyberpunk2077 was based on an old tabletop board game called cyberpunk is misleading. Thank you for the video. On a side note, the letter "w" in Polish is pronounced as "v" or "f" depending on the following sound. If "w" is followed by a vowel it it usually pronounced as "v". However, the letter "w" is pronounced as "f" when followed by a consonant or is the last letter of a word. That is why "Sapkowski" should be pronounced sapkofsky not sapkowsky
@annadziekonska73663 жыл бұрын
True but also depends. For the W that is true, In polish it share a V sound so it should be vedchmin (or as best as I can type it out lol) but the last name, well that's if you are truly wanting to speak it in the polish way. Then yes but for English speaking sense, it is correct. I will nit pick on how many don't know that if you cannot pronounce andrej, you can just say Andrew as that is what his name is in English if we do translate xD same goes for Michal as that is Michael in English or ryszard is Richard as another example. Of course not everyone knows that so I am not angry at it! Sometimes looking up the name online won't show that it could mean a similar name in English when translated I will admit, hearing others speak polish and aren't fluent in it makes me giggle a bit (I'm not better as I was born in the states so my polish isn't perfect) but I give kudos for him trying! Not many would afterall
