I still love the grey walls in our home, and we have tons of colors and textures in our rooms so everything feels warm and cozy and bright too!!! But then again, we never did the all grey drap either lol.

The upper part of my bathroom walls are navy with the bottom being white b board then a white cabinet/vanity and a white waffle shower curtain then lots of black and white accents I just can't help myself I think I will always love black and white decor and accents

This is so helpful, thank you! My family and I decided to paint our entire workplace and their whole house with a cool light grey, after having had them both super colorful for at least 40 years. Then lockdown hit. I never regretted a color decision so much in my life. I was so into it cause I was bored of those many colors, I never expected to be bored from a light gray (that I previously liked so much) in such a short time. We are lucky we make paints for a living and we are also painters but still we don't like wasting time and materials re-doing a perfectly done job, we are going to wait until it's time to paint again. It's been a huge life lesson. I thank God I didn't build my own house cause I'm sure I would have chosen a black/white/gray palette for things like floors and doors and I would be regretting it every single day.

I painted my whole apartment light gray and all the doors white. It used to be like a light tan looking color. It just looked so sad before. And I want to add gray couches and black tables. Maybe some black nightstands and dressers. After getting out of an unhappy relationship my place is starting to look bright. I feel the future is going to be bright as well.

I still have gray walls in the bedroom, but there's also beige velvet drapes, a taupe bedspread and a beige and cream rug. It's the only room where I've kept things neutral.

The home my parents downsized to is all grey except for the cherry toned cabinets. They kept gold toned furniture, a lot of blue and pink. It looks nice except for that fake grey floor! Maybe more area rugs? Anything else besides that and stenciling you can think of?

if you have plants--put them in Terracotta pots (instead of concrete or metal). This adds an earthy orange into the palette that you can then repeat in other accents.

Nick if you think gray floors are ugly you should see what was there before it was ugly orange tone pergo flooring. I love my light gray floors cant wait to do the 2 bedrooms and kitchen with it aswell one fine day when money is no obstacle

Why not paint the walls a different colour?

Honestly? painting is a big undertaking….move furniture, remove fixtures and switch plates…throw down drop sheets…repair drywall damage and popped screws(several times over)….wait for drywall compound to dry…resand….lightly sand entire wall to encourage better paint adherence….tsp walls…determine paint type….prime first….possible several coats depending on shade of gray….take care not to get wall paint on ceiling or cabinets or floor etc.….drying time….replace fixtures and furniture….physical strain on body….fumes….financial burden of quality paint. Oh and usually you first have to add a fresh coat of paint to the ceiling..same prep work. I have lived in 5 homes and they have all needed repainting due to bad colours and even worse painting practices..There’s a reason builders leave a neutral colour. They want to sell. It would be a lot easier if people just left their walls neutral, and used their favourite colours in their personal, movable decor.

​@@plantsoverpills1643 I agree it is alot and taping is also a time consuming pain lol I agree neutral walls is a easier commitment then have fun with accent colors way cheaper to change and replace I had my fun with teal, black and white and pale pink black and white all through decor and things that were easily replaceable. Now my living room has light gray floors and walls with plants and black, white and some touches of gold for decor lol

Unless you have health/mobility issues and/or extremely high ceilings, painting walls is not that hard. At all.

Most of my home is BM stonnington gray with black furniture and white throw pillows and blankets and white rug and curtains with lots of plants my favorite being my 6ft fiddling fig and I have 3 wood tone baskets lol we have 2 black chairs in a seating area and a black coffee table it works for me I love it but its definitely not for everyone. My room has white walls and bedding a gray rug and black furniture and lots of plants lol my kitchen has cream cabinets and lots of tans beige and brown cant wait to rip it out 1 day and replace with white cabinets and my ugly light gray floors that I love my kitchen walls are BM balboa mist with white b board at the bottom and white crown molding throughout
