A fabric liner would be great in the wicker basket so that you dont snag the wool. If you don't sew, you might be able to find a tote bag that would fit inside the basket. 😊

Or if you have a wide fabric scarf, you can drape this in your basket and use bulldog clips (the ones with the fold down arms) to attach to rim

Happy New Year, Nick and Andrew. You keep yourself busy with big projects, that's nice. I always have to do some small things in-between the big things to keep my brain going. So I create bags that nobody wants, hats and beanies that nobody wears... But it's making me happy 😊

Your birchbark open block stitch blanket is so nice! The nice thing about granny squares is, if they end up being different sizes-you can always set them aside for a different pattern. They are so versatile.

Looking forward to seeing your projects. My goals this year is to finish or frog my 2024 WIPs, use up at least 50% of my yarn stash, and to continue challenging myself by making different categories of items. Good luck in your last semester of school…finish strong!

Hi Nick, I love the way you have a plan for your makes this year, i sort of have a plan. I'm going to knit myself a jumper, make a few baby blankets for friends, i want to try the open block stitch, your blanket looks lovely. I have a big blanket to finish but i hate joining all the squares together lol. In between I'm going to make a lot of small things, coasters, hats, bags, shawls etc and December 2025 in going to have a stall at a market and sell them all cheapish to make money for Xmas and birthdays. That's my plan, we'll see if it happens. I'm happy to watch whatever you want to make or show i get ideas from everything. Hope this year is a great year for you and Andrew.

I’m excited to see you finish some of these projects as I think they will turn out fantastic. My recommendation for the wicker basket would be to just make a fabric lining to protect your crochet. You might not even really have to sew it just kind of arrange it in there andmaybe glue it around the top or something.

You have some amazing ideas for blankets this year. I like the different colors for each blanket that you are making. The granny ripple stitch looks good. I’m putting that on my to do list this year. Thank you for sharing all of your ideas for this year and giving us inspiration for are own projects. 🧶💜🙏🏻

Hi Nick, you have lots of projects on your list. All pretty cool! I’m working on the Granny Goes Random stitch along with Mikey from the Crochet crowd with the redheart bitty stripes yarn. I have several blankets started and my resolution was to finish all my WIPS and I’ve already started 2 more…..sheesh. Sooo….hear I go again. I’m trying not to buy yarn, but I keep seeing new yarns I want to try. I love how you have put your colors together with your projects. Thanks for all you do! ❤🧶. Oh, I forgot…I started a Balaclava for my neighbor as well.😅

I love all of your ideas for the coming year! I especially like the granny ripple and the waffle stitch. I love the rainbow yarn too. For the IKEA wicker basket you might want to sew a fabric liner for it. The fabric would be smooth and not catch on the yarn. I’m still catching up on everything I didn’t get done from this past year. I have new ideas but I kind of feel guilty buying more yarn when I have so much yarn waiting in my stash. Enjoy the rest of your time off before school starts back up.

Hi…I’m new to your channel. I’ve subscribed…and so far, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE everything I’ve seen! I found you on Jan 1 when you revealed your Temperature Blanket, for last year. I’m just starting my very first one for this year, in Loops and Threads Heathered Tweeds. I’m doing a row a day. I’m a big follower of Juan the Yarn Addict, but I think I’ll be a big follower here, too. I also have that box of granny square patterns…and I might make those along with you…what a great idea. Your afghans are gorgeous. Oh…my name is Debby…I’ve been crocheting for 63 years, since my grandmother taught me when I was 5… but I had to take a big, many years long break after I had 13 surgeries on my hands. I recently started up again and have been happily learning new stitches. I just have to take it slower…and rest my hands often. Anyway…I love your work and I look forward to seeing more!

When you make the corner to corner with five ,when you get to the end do you still do three stitches in the five chains or three. Do you start in the second or third chain when ending the row. Five sounds better to make it tighter.hate that I still can’t get the anniversary yarn. Haven’t been able to get any colors here, even changing colors and stores, no one has had them, even checking early in the a.m., so frustrating.
@URBANFARMBOYS2 күн бұрын
Where do you live? It sells out quickly, but if I can help you acquire some next year, I'll do what I can! For my open block stitch, I chain five, skip two, and double crochet into each of the next three chains. Rinse and repeat!

I completed my 2024 temperature blanket yesterday and am 14 blocks into my 2025. I was also looking for another project and decided to memorize my 2020 reading list with a book log granny square blanket. I am doing 4 rounds and pulling the colors from the book covers. These whip up pretty quickly and because I have the entire list I can go as quickly or as slowly as I want. I love the 'fruity pebbles' blocks. They will look stunning with black.

My current project baskets, because there are two of them, are one of those cotton rope baskets and one of those mesh foldable clothes hampers in white. There’s a certain set of rope baskets on Amazon that have tops and I’m currently using a pastel purple one for my crochet projects, but I have a black one, a pastel pink one and a pastel cyan one that are used for other things around the house. Sea Team Round Cotton Rope Storage Basket with Lid, i’ve had quite a few of these kind of baskets over the years and these are the best quality ones I’ve ever gotten.

That's the yarn I'm using for my daughter's blanket, birch wood. Why is mine taking forever? I like yours. I did double v stitch. I didn't want it too open. She's not the lacy type! I am hoping I can get by with three skeins. I made it too big I'm afraid! Beautiful choices of yarn for your temperature blanket! Oooo I got that box of cards too! Nice! Black border for the fruity pebbles....yes!!! That waffle stitch looks awesome! Don't pull it out. It will be warm like that! You must like the anniversary cake. Personally I don't like it. I found it splitty. Oooo I like the granny ripple! Where is the pattern or are you making it up? I like your plans but I bet you don't need the whole year for it except the temperature blankets! I like when you share your finds....you know how much I love the "bubble board" I use it to count rows! I like to see your blanket ideas.....I'm a little over five foot so when I see how big your blankets are I'm "wowed"! Love ya!

This video was suggested by YT. 😂 I clicked to watch *Farm Boys *Crochet. I love crochet and I lived and worked on farms when I was a child. Many hours spent crocheting as a teen and adult at the farm. Anyways I watched your video. To answer your questions first really love the open C2C you just completed the colourway is gorgeous. I just bought the granny square deck after following Tami@craftymompreneur. Highly recommend you check out her videos for the card deck. ‘Granny square Sunday’ yes there are several squares that end up being different squares and a tip if you are going to use them in same project at the end to keep the colours similar. I’m doing my first temperature blanket this year but with a completely different twist. Great ideas to make smaller squares for your new one this year. I love the socks you made. A tip for your wicker basket a small table to put in the basket should stop any snares. I agree with your project for Andrew being a challenge. I listen to Podcasts and/or KZbin channels while I crochet. Lastly blocking the different square sizes you mentioned stretching the smaller ones, I agree and I would definitely also block the larger ones to the same size. Blocked squares are so much neater and give wow. Lastly you are taking on a lot of projects which is going to take time and discipline…I’m sure you have a good action plan 😅 I’m going to stick around and subscribe ❤
