I like to listen to Irv Gotti interviews. He speaks intelligently, and articulately. He explains his experience to the point you imagine you were there and most of all you don’t get the vibe that he’s lying. So authentic. Great interview

Even in the mid-80s all of that dope money was new money to us in the 90s all of that legit rap money was new money to us. Those Jewish executive had an agenda from the beginning IT WASN'T ABOUT MONEY FOR THEM, it was about continuing power with them.

What the hell are you typing? NONE of those labels were "bosses". The BOSSES in Hip-Hop are from the south. Master P, Cash Money, Rap-a-Lot, Luke etc were the real bosses. The NY dudes were glorified a&r men, who were FIRMLY under Lyor, and Clive Davis. Suge talked all that "ownership" bullshit, but he had a 50-50 deal with Interscope, with Interscope funding Death Rows overhead. Also Def Jam HAS ALWAYS BEEN A JEWISH RECORD LABEL! NEW YORK HIP- HOP SOLD OUT FROM DAY ONE.
@shylo97764 жыл бұрын
BluFoo Take your medication. No known NY artist from that era were independent. They were all BENEATH the majors, including Irv, of course. Nigga told Flex Def Jam jerked him on the overseas album points, but now he's lying like he was a "boss". I hope you're young because it's pathetic to worship these fake bosses because you likr fantasy. "get off KZbin"😔 You're a female. A little girl.

Big respect to Gotti. He produced on one of my favourite albums of all time - Reasonable Doubt. My nigga DJ'd and produced for Hov, discovered Ja Rule and DMX. Not to mentioned Ashanti. If you are in your mid thirties, you will recall the bangers he was responsible for from the late 90's and early 2000's. Unfortunately 50 cent and that Preme trial derailed him. But irrespective, he deserves a lot of recognition, especially in light of the absolute garbage hip hop that is out nowadays (Kendrick aside)
