Okay so our Japanese teacher in college actually told us how to say “uhm” in Japanese (ano or eto) and tbh it was such a game changer in class, cause even when you were struggling with finding the right words, you’d be struggling in Japanese so you’d immediately feel more competent 😀

The thing is I think horror is scarier when you barely see the monster, so they didn't even need a special effects budget, just like shadowy forms and the glint of watching eyes would have been enough imo. But having a person thrashing on the ground fighting nothing is not gonna be scary lol

The talking head segments needed to have the characters discussing what they want to do in the future, important things they're working on that haven't been completed, or big events coming up in their lives. I mean, these are college students! Tell me about their career aspirations! Their research projects! Tell me one of them will be the first person in their family to earn a degree! Squeeze in that one of them just got engaged! Learning that one of the students was pregnant midway through the movie was a more effective way of making me sort of care about her and her boyfriend than hearing what random hobbies they have.

Hey Nick! My boyfriend and I were extras in a movie called “The Devil Comes Dressed for Church Too” by Mike Simmons. The story itself seems pretty compelling with lots of opportunities for comedy, but I have a personal beef with the production company as they have yet to pay any of their actors and keep pushing back the release date with very little explanation. Once it’s finally out (and hopefully picked up by tubi) I would love to offer it up for a clip breakdown. Nothing would be a greater consolation for all the trips to Atlanta, and the $1200 we didn’t get

Clearly this is a deeply symbolic film with the title being a wry twist on the “life as highway” metaphor. The actors are likely classically trained in the method which is how they chillingly display the mundane and fumbling state of humanity. I could go deeper but it’s all been laid out far better than I ever could in numerous scholarly articles on film. 10/10

I saw this movie around a year ago. Tubi has some good movies. It has a few horror films you've most likely seen before or are fairly popular. But then it has "gems" like this particular movie. I feel like I didn't even watch all of it. I fell asleep halfway through out of boredom and then woke up at the end of it.
