Im so surprised u didn’t mention some of the most popular highly rated and well received nicktoons to this day: Avatar, Korra, ROTTMNT, TMNT 2012, Invader Zim… IZ, Avatar and Korra are all landmark animations that change the industry in numerous. ways. And lets not for get the Honorable mention that nick put on Netflix and just as quickly killed despite the popularity and potential- Glitch Techs. A master piece that was treated poorly, not advertised, and abruptly cancelled for no discernible reason. Any animation and video game lover should watch it and cry at the injustice that is the cliffhanger that will never be resolved.

Poor treatment with action-themed Nicktoons? MLAATR "walked" so Rise of the TMNT could "run" with that reputation. Korra too. Plus the rejected adaptation of Phoebe and her Unicorn.

People thought that The Loud House was a sign that there would be a nick renaissance, but boy they were wrong. I don't think that it's impossible for Nick to have a renaissance, but I won't think it will be anytime soon.

They're obsessed with Spongebob to the point where they'll cancel any show that doesn't become a global sensation like it. It's just dumb to me. At the same time though, it just feels like most of the cartoon community doesn't really care about their newer shows, so in a way I can't be too mad at them for not giving newer shows a chance. I hardly ever hear people discussing the newer Nicktoons. Glitch Techs is a really good show. I've seen a few episodes of It's Pony and it's a cute show. I also wanna say I feel like people don't care for them because they're episodic. If they were story driven with a bunch of lore, they would be eating these shows up.

Yeah, Nickelodeon never takes any risk with creating new IPs like CN and Disney (to an extent) do and heavily rely on existing brands and older catalog. Sometimes, their output are just non-existent compare to other two.

Well back in 2008, the writers strike caused a lot of shows to either go downhill with the writing or get cancelled. Just look at pushing daisies and Rise of the pink ladies which sadly got removed from Paramount plus due to the strike as a Tax write off.

Honestly I feel like Nickelodeon is only staying on float for as long as they can (animation and merchandise wise) is that outside of SpongeBob and The Loud House, they are relying heavily on the shows that were that came out from the 90s to mid 2000s. I get that those shows were really great, but because they rely on their peak in the past rather than now is hurting them more than they realized.

Nicktoons killed any chance of a renaissance with their pisspoor treatment of Avatar Korra. The TMNT shows from 2012 to now tho technically nicktoons are more associated with Paramount due to the movies being frankly more popular despite all the shows since 2012 being great in their own right!

Man I was hoping you’d mention rottmnt since from an animation perspective- I feel like it’s currently the most demanding animates series since a last year it got incredibly popular and it still is and there’s still a BUNCH of fans still begging for them to UNPAUSE it since apparently it wasn’t exactly canceled, instead it was “paused “ whatever that means. The creators keep sometimes saying “ oh don’t give up hope there might be a chance that rottmnt and the new mutant mayhem series can run at the same time “ and all. And yeah it still has a huge fandom that as well kind of shares the excitement for this new mutant mayhem series they wanna make. I mean hey, there were two sonic cartoons airing at the same time back in the nineties.

Many say that Nickelodeon died in 2009 (and that was very much a bad year for the network), but at least SpongeBob wasn’t the only show that they aired (even though it did eat up too much of the schedule), unlike now.

It's definitely unfortunate that Nickelodeon has no renaissance, I remember how tribal me and my friends were about which was the best between CN, Disney and Nick. I loved them all but I was always a Nick guy. I don't think they'll have a renaissance on the network, but maybe in streaming. Paramount owns them, and with Avatar Studios making new Avatar content, it'll be exciting what awaits for streaming. But yeah I think it may be wraps for the network. Henry Danger was cool, and I LOVED Haunted Hathoways, particularly that theme song🔥 but at the end of the day, Nick needs a new show that will take the new generation by storm, cause SpongeBob will never be what it was
