The ending where Morgan made the wish was significant because at the beginning of the movie, she made it clear that she didn't see their new house as home and waneted to go back to New York, and during her last fight with Giselle, she declared that she wasn't her mom, she was just her stepmother, so the development was her growing through the story to realize how much she meant to her. Her wishing she was home with her mom and waking up in their new house with Giselle brought it all together

At the market, someone calls out, "Sugar dates, figs and pistachios!" This is a line from Aladdin, when Jasmine is walking through town in disguise. Giselle's outfit is even reminiscent of the disguise Jasmine dons to escape the palace.

I would really like to see a movie where we get to see Nancy adjusting to life in Andalasia. There are still villains there, and she did spend most of her life in the real world so her adjustment could be interesting. Maybe some backstory on how she used to dream of being a Broadway star (a nod to Idina's real life on Broadway) and just accepted what she had. Seeing her joy at just breaking out into song and getting to actually know Edward.

During the shopping scene, which is a bittersweet callback to Giselle and Morgan's shopping trip in "Enchanted," you'll notice mannequins wearing the dresses of other Disney princesses.
@videohistory722 Жыл бұрын
The opening credits have a ton of Disney references. Some of them go by so quickly that you could blink and miss them entirely, while others are more obvious. As the classic Disney intro plays, the castle becomes an animated Andalasian palace. As we move past those familiar turrets and towers, we see what appears to be a young Prince Philip from "Sleeping Beauty" crossing a bridge with his parents. Moving further into Andalasia, we see a busy baker carrying his tray like always, a nod to "Beauty and the Beast," and a character who looks like Little Bo Peep. The troll who chased Giselle into Edward's arms in the first movie is back, too. We see a baby warthog that looks like Pumbaa (Ernie Sabella) from "The Lion King" and a firefly that resembles Ray (Jim Cummings) from "The Princess and the Frog."

At 21:49 it's the actual actress who played Morgan in the first movie who gives a line to Amy Adams. She makes a quick appareance.

Something that hurts more: Gisele said in "Enchanted" that she knew many great stepmothers, which means that now in the real world, she realizes she may be seen as awful when she really isn't.
@monsterhanna6691 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I noticed that, too. The only evil stepmother she knew was Edward's, but she didn't realize that until the end. Why did she think she would be evil now?
@OpticalSorcerer Жыл бұрын
@@monsterhanna6691 It's probably either: 1. Bad writing (the films don't have the same writers). 2. After living in the real world for over a decade, she probably dealt with stigma of being a stepmother, especially since her fashion business was fairytale inspired.

I found it significant that it wasn't Giselle that ever even *implied* that Morgan wasn't her true daughter (a true daughter of Andelasia). It was Morgan herself who claimed the label of "fake daughter of Andelasia," and claimed Giselle was only her stepmother. Probably the wand wouldn't have worked for her, had she not accepted her parentage and adoptive heritage. But because she accepted Giselle as her mother, once and for all, it worked for her. As for why Sophia can't save the day, I think the answer there is pretty clear: she can't articulate a single word, let alone a whole wish.

I’m very glad you enjoyed reacting to this film. While I do agree that original is iconic in its own right, I actually enjoyed the sequel just as much. I do love the themes they focused on especially how true love can found in the memories of the ones you loved. The moment that Giselle professes that Morgan is her true daughter no matter what and that Morgan accepts Giselle as her true mother is tearfully beautiful. I also how in the end, Giselle realizes that in reality there is no happily ever after, but there is living the rest of your life happily with the ones you love. I also loved all the musical moments especially Nancy’s song “Love Power”; that is how you showcase an iconic talented voice. If you were wanting more fairytale or fairytale like movies, I highly recommend Penelope, Ella Enchanted, Happily Never After 1-2, Beastly, The School for Good and Evil and A Cinderella Story (Hilary Duff). 👩🏻🦰🪄✨👈🏻👸🏻❤️🖤💙💚

It irks me just a tad that people think Robert didn't have his own story arc just because he wasn't with Giselle for most of the film. If you pay attention to what he's actually doing in his scenes, you'd see that is not true at all. Taking the train was him realizing keeping his job in the city is taking him even further away from his family, when they moved away from the city to avoid exactly that. First try at being a hero comes in the form of a dragon. He does exactly what every prince does, and gets tossed out on his ass, thwarted by someone blocking the cave with a rock, under advisement he should give up being a prince altogether. Second attempt is a giant. He tries tripping the giant with a rope, and the giant proceeds to drag him through town with said rope. But the second he gets free, a little girl cries out for help, and he's just in time to save her from being crushed to death, and assure her she's going to be okay. He tries to rebuke the girls parents claims that he is a hero, because he didn't stop the giant, but the parents still insisted. And that right there is the whole arc: he doesn't need to be a prince charming. He just needs to be there for his family.

I understand Morgan’s on and off attitude/behavior in this movie because SHE IS A TEENAGER..she’s not a little girl anymore. It’s just like what you said, Morgan kind of outgrew the “fantasy/fairytale like world” that she loved when she was younger. She’s used to hearing Giselle sing all the time and well she’s growing up. I don’t think she has resentment towards Giselle, she’s just upset that they moved out of New York. A place that she was born and raised in, went to school, and had childhood friends too. It’s hard to adjust to a new place and new school…let alone high school. She wanted to find her own way in fitting in and well Giselle meant well by trying to help her, but Morgan wanted to do it on her own. Morgan didn’t mean to lash out on Giselle telling her “she’s not her mom”, but she was just frustrated as a teenager can be at times. However, she did call her MOM plenty of times before lashing out and hurting Giselle’s feelings. So, deep down she does see Giselle as her mom and loves her very much. It was something she had to realize/figure it out herself throughout this movie. Giselle also had to learn her lesson that sometimes fantasy/fairy tale kind of life isn’t an easy life either. There’s also bad in that world too and it shouldn’t be mixed with the real world. So yeah, both Giselle and Morgan learned valuable lessons about family, love, and learning to adjust in the real world situations.
@SaGeForReal Жыл бұрын
Also, Morgan’s wish makes A LOT OF SENSE considering what she felt in the beginning of the movie. She didn’t want to move to a new town, she didn’t feel like she fit in, she was upset with Giselle and lashed out saying she is not her mom. Again… LESSON LEARNED for both Morgan and Giselle. HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS.. THE BOND/LOVE BETWEEN GISELLE AND MORGAN WAS ALWAYS STRONG. Hence “I WISHED TO BE HOME, WITH MY MOM.”

I thought this movie was pretty good. I do think a lot of the ideas were half-baked though. The thing that bothered me the most was that Malvina never had an arc. There was never really a moment where we understood Malvina's motives and felt for her at all. Yet she is "redeemed" at the end. I kinda just assumed that she got all her evil tendencies out as the evil queen and now she feels refreshed after going back to normal 😂
