When you said they sounded as ONE voice and yes. They train a lot to sing a song in Hebrew about a prophecy that ONE day, Hashem will be ONE and his name will be Echad or 1 across all earth when humanity will be Finally redeemed and be together with our creator.

I was in this choir. Thank you for reacting. As for ur question there are auditions at the beginning of every year and of 25 auditions there are probably 10 accepted. The only way to move up in the choir is experience. It's a great confidence builder and overall really fun. Thank you

Your observation about connecting with the text is spot on. That is why it is so important that the director pick age appropriate songs. Pre pubescents singing about failed love affairs or having sex is not only wrong, it is creepy. Also poor directing is having kids sing songs that, to them, are limp and babyish. Kids will relate to songs that are fun and energetic. At this age, this video exhibitsthe type of music that they should be singing. Great job, gentlemen!

Since about 2012 Yeshiva Boys overtook Miami Boys in popularity, though been around since the early 2000s, and this is Yeshiva Boys most popular song of all time. Eli Gerstner is a talented composer who first worked with singers and boy bands before kids choirs where he has has great success. There are several defunct Jewish kids choirs from over the years. There are two smaller ones that exist today, but its mostly Yeshiva Boys and Miami Boys. However while more popular, for the past decade Yeshiva Boys hasn't really launched peoples singing careers despite their years in the industry, while half the Jewish Music industry is Miami Boys alumni, and more in total from their overlap years. but who knows what the future holds However Kids Choirs have a long history in Jewish Music. Central European Jewish communities (Germany, Austria, Hungary, etc) would have a cantor for Shabbos and Holiday prayer services and a full boys choir to assist. While there are only about a dozen synagogues as far as I know that still have them (Mostly in the US and UK), these traditions from the 1600s are the basis of the modern kids choirs like these. In the 1950s the first vinyl albums of Jewish Kids choirs were these synagogue ones, and then in the 1960s the Orthodox Youth Group, Pirchei, started their own, poaching the best talent across the board , and soon few others came along in the 60s and 70s. Only 2 from that era lasted to the 1990s, and Miami boys is the only one still around. I have some of those old vinyl's. Also many Jewish schools have their own small choir as well, for school events and the school dinner for donors, etc. Its a big part of our culture.
@jewishweddingtracks Жыл бұрын
yep but now with this whole tiktok thing miami boys choir look like they are taking back their popularity
@michaelbcohen Жыл бұрын
@@jewishweddingtracks It depends on how Begun handles the next album. The problem is, Miami Boys last few albums were very stale, and the songs were not that memorable. Not the kids the fault, but we see Begun maybe running out of steam. We shall see how he handles it, and maybe he gets some songs from others, rather than all composed himself, some of his alumni like Goldwag do amazing composing.
@jewishweddingtracks Жыл бұрын
@@michaelbcohen well what i meant is that in the last few months miami boys choir has been getting much more attention than yeshiva boys choir has been getting miami boys choir did some massive concert the last few months like in hollywood and ncsy and hasc. but on the other hand yeshiva boys choir did not do any concert in the last few months. btw did you see footage of miami boys choir in hollywood? i never saw so much people and energy by jewish concert when miami boys choir sang yerushalayim the crowd went so crazy it was even writen up in the mainstream media

Thank you for this very informative reaction. IMO Whitney Houston's performance of the Star Spangled Banner should be replayed for every Super Bowl and other US national events. It's nice to hear other people giving it a try, but no other performance of this difficult song comes close. The other stellar performance of a national anthem on YT is Roberto Alagna's 2009 performance of La Marseillaise on the TV show Au coeur de l'armée de terre.
