I know this is old, but I am so glad to see others have noticed the Nickie's flat shape thing too. 😅 I have some birdseye flats from there and the shape after washing them the first time is so wonky. You can't even call them rectangle. I rarely use them because I wrap flats around my babies. My GMD flats are still perfectly square after a year of use.

I've used both of these for more than a year... I originally purchased the Nicki's because they were less expensive but eventually sprung for the GMDs... My experience is basically the same, my Nicki's are rectangular and I'm a Neat fold-er so I prefer the GMDs. I also feel like the Nicki's absorb slightly less, but that's just my experience 🙂 I like the Nicki's but they don't knock the GMDs out of first place in my book either!

I got some of the normal nicki's bamboo flats and they came kite shaped 😭 I pretty much never use them because I can't even get them partially squared since they got worse as I prepped them

Hey, wondering if you’ve done any videos on newborn size muslin flats/half flats? Trying to decide if this is worth it for my 3rd baby due in dec, or if I should just rely on the one-size. I make tiny babies (5-6 lb). Hoping to start cloth about a month out.

I talk about the half flats here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKvbYmN3q9GIi6s The one size are definitely going to be bulky on a newborn, and I don't think you'd even want to try to make them work if you have tiny babies. The half size can always be used in the future though, after the newborn days. If baby starts to wet through them when they're a few months old, you can add a random other insert to them and stuff into covers or pockets.

How are your nickis holding up? I’ve been using mine for about 9 months and I’m not in love with them anymore. They only last my 13 mo about an hour. Wondering what I should switch to.

We potty trained Eren this summer, so I only used these for a couple more months after this review. I didn't see any decline in that time though.

I am looking into cloth diapering, your reviews and absorbency test are my favorite. I am looking into covers/flats/prefolds. Can you please tell me how you personally put your covers together with these, and what doublers you liked to pair with the flats and prefolds? My son is 3 months and not a heavy wetter, I prefer something not to bulky but very absorbent. I would appreciate it if you’re able to help

I would pad fold these inside covers most of the time. I only used them for daytime, so I never needed to add doublers for absorbency.

I have both GMD ia the winner Nickis Diapers feels like FST and my nicki diapers muslin has holes in them already my GMD is still like new and started to use them at the same time.

My middle baby potty trained last summer and my youngest is only 4 wks old, so the flats haven't been used in awhile.
