Brilliant video Nicki - a lovely reminder of my last stay in Sorrento in 2019 when I did the walk up to the Villa Jovis on Capri. I loved it all the amazing views, the peace, the history and the beautiful walk. I would recommend it! Stopped at the little bar on the way down for a drink. Very welcome.🌅🍻🚶

Another lovely vlog. Found your vlogs recently. This one to Capri reminded me of my day trip there in April 2005. Was on my own in your area, having spent 18 months learning Italian. Off season, so no boats to Blue Grotto, but took small boat round part of coast. Quite bumpy. Up with the funicular. Wandered past shops. Bought a takeaway pizza. Took it to look out point over coast. Got talking to couple from Rome. She was doing relief work in pharmacy on Capri. A year later I popped into pharmacy near Trevi fountain in Rome to say Buongiorno.

On my trip we stayed in Capri but did not get to go to the home or villa of Cesar and I am getting to see it here in your excursion!! On our boat ride there the guide did tell us what you said about how people were invited to the villa and if Cesar didn't like you, you were pushed over the cliff. Crazy.

The villa was an overgrown mess when we were there last...a few years back. No charge..you just walked around guessing what you were looking at. The park is delightful..loved your means of access. Typically Italian if it is locked or closed just climb around . This is how folk still follow via Krupp. Thanks for sharing the island we love.

Great info about Villa Jovis. We totally skipped main part of Capri and took the bus up to Anna Capri. Took the chair lift to top, went to San Michelle and saw Garden of Eden mosaic floor so beautiful. Maybe we will visit Villa Jovis this summer when we visit. Might be too walk 45 minutes!

I loved the video and remember walking the path around Capri and taking the bus back down during the offseason as well. Wonderful views and lots of interesting villas. In San Francisco, we just had our first rains of the season which we are extremely glad as it has cleared the smoke from the air so it is a good time for your visit. Usually this time of the year it is either rainy or very mild here but always chaotic like Napoli :-) Buon viaggio!

Hi nicki. Thanks for that tour of villa Jovis. We didn’t get there last spring when we visited Capri. As your friend said, you have to make choices. We chose Monte Solaro because it had the chair lift. Maybe next time. Those poor Korean tourists. I can’t see the point of a one day trip from Rome to Pompeii to Capri. That’s much too fast to see anything. We have been to Pompeii twice and still haven’t seen everything. Also, a hour and a half in Capri isn’t even time enough to see the beach area. For a visit that short, I wouldn’t even tick it off my bucket list. Thanks again for the tour and have a safe trip.

Unfortunately the Koreans do these trips every single day. It can't be much fun.

Another enjoyable video. Can’t help but wonder how the viila was built in such an isolated place- the labor needed. A fine line between too many tourists and enough tourists to support businesses.

Nicki, you are so strong..with your climbing skills.. Capri is a fantastic place to roam. Hope you did not get all the smoke from fires into SF. My friend posted pics and it was unreal. Usually San Francisco is clear, cold and windy.

Another great vlog. I would love to visit Capri in the off season. It seems as though you would have to stay there a couple of days to really see everything. I was there in 2017 and, even though we were there until the last ferry, it feels like we missed a lot. I will definitely be back.
