"Rudeness" is really a matter of perspective. People living in the northeast don't consider each other rude. We're just not effusively friendly. We think that's fake. The polite thing to do in the northeast is to keep a respectful emotional distance if we're not family or friends. You're being a little bit rude if you presume you're allowed to overstep that boundary.
@galanopouloc2 жыл бұрын
A bit late to this one but I guess that the algorithm brought me here. I think that people (especially from the south) tend to correlate terseness with rudeness. In the South, certain formalities may be expected from a person such as saying "yes sir/ma'am" after a request or striking an informal conversation with some random people. This doesn't exist in the North, where one is just expected to just say the bare minimum to get the job done. In tandem, in the north, I've noticed that people who keep on rambling on and on are treated as "more bluster than substance", with results being put more onto the forefront. That doesn't mean that they are rude or unfriendly, for when I moved to a village upstate NY, the locals really helped me out with finding areas to shop and loaning out their snow removal equipment. This is coming from someone who has spent time in both North Carolina and upstate NY.
@TronisEdison2 жыл бұрын
@@galanopouloc i think of it more of a pace of life, down south life is slow as hell. I went to Wilson NC with my girlfriend to visit her family and it was so different then anything I’ve ever experienced. I’m from New Jersey we live on top of eachother. Everything down there in NC was so spaced out it was crazy to me. There were no houses with 2 stories every house was a 1 story trailer. Every house. It was the windiest place I’ve ever been I guess because the lot his house sits on is like 15 acres. I remember taking his truck up to the local dollar store to grab some vegetable oil and I’m used to rude people up here in jersey but the lady at the dollar store caught me so off guard with how long she was talking. Asking me if I’m from here, how long I’m visiting, how I met my girlfriend all this shit and if I was back home I would take it as this person is having a boring shift and is trying to waste my time to make their shift more fun to have someone to talk to, but being in the south I had to just sit thru the conversation and be nice when in reality In my head I’m like holy shit lady can I please just purchase my oil and leave I appreciate the kindness but you guys are just so damn slow down here I can’t handle it😂

I feel the "rudeness" of NH is overexaggerated by other New England states vacationing/coming to NH, most natives I know are amazing people. @@christopherorourke6543 New York is crazy now; the small city I lived in was declared a sanctuary city by the mayor. Any undocumented aliens that flock to the city are given housing vouchers and food stamps. I owned my house but the influx of South Americans doubled the price of rent in the area. Before this mayor was elected there was a gang roundup every ten years or so that kept the crime and drug problem to a minimum; now both are through the roof. There use to be free parking so people would patronize local businesses, he installed meters everywhere on the main streets and put electronic car monitoring in parking lots...the business owners are pissed. When I left he was trying to impose a mandatory annual inspection fee of $500 per apartment within city limits. It will be interesting to see if he gets reelected. Governor Cuomo tried to ban guns throughout the state but lost that due to Constitutional rights. He is now trying to pass a law so every one has to pay a $100 tax per gun per year. A friend of mine is a gun collector and has over 160 rifles and is thinking of moving to Pennsylvania if it passes. Im glad I got out. The friends I talk to who still work there say they cant wait to leave too.

Baltimore is not a place we really go to. Traffic can get bad and some drivers are a little aggressive. Job economy is Great. I feel like Maryland has people from the north and south coming here to start a new life. Overall, Maryland is a great place with great folks. Enter there and after taking a quick gander, you might find yourself checking your pockets to see if you remembered to bring your passport. Third-worldly in appearance and clientele. The Hub fans can be pretty rude, but Boston is a wicked good sports town. That being said, I despise the politicsI I am a libertarian, and do not want Big govt, or these parasites with their hands in my pocket. Big Tech has been a big boost to the MA economy - something missing in Lefty CT and RI. Upper New England was never an economic engine (the mills did provide a textile and leather goods dynamism for awhile), but have largely retained the beautiful small town, independent spirit that was all over America - now gobbled up by the corporatocracy that big govt spawns. These collectivist ideas are antithetical to New England and America. CT is NYC's bedroom, so most of it (save for NW CT) does not even feel like New England. I have subscribed to Yankee Magazine for about 40 years, and have made dozens of trips to the region - ever since I was a camp counselor in the Belgrade Lakes, Maine from 1969-1973. I have been to all 50 states, lived in 10, and Boston is my favorite large city (Charleston, SC my overall fave), but I detest Left politics, and find no credible spokesman for the Left - especially NOT dottering Joebama and his sidekick - cackling schmuck, Kamala the Horrible! I want the govt out of my life, and I am vehemently opposed to censorship & Cancel Culture. My aunt grew up in Northampton (little town of Florence), so I love New England - though my distaste for winter kept me from living there year round. I intend to spend 8 months in Lowcountry SC, followed by 4 months in NH - on a lake, and close to my favorite New England town of Portsmouth, NH. Any attempt to eliminate the no income tax/no sales tax in NH, will be strongly opposed! That, and pushing up housing prices in NH, are the main objections to "Massholes", though many coming to NH are conservatives/libertarians looking for a safe haven in NH, amidst the Left environment in the other 5 states. Maine has more of an independent spirit than VT, MA, CT & RI, but definitely not NH, politically. I find ALL 6 states beautiful, but NH is not only my favorite - it is the only one where I have any political alignment.

The saddest thing about Rhode Island is that the people dont know how bad their state is because they never leave it and find out how good life can be. In all fairness Rhody has a lot of great restaurants and some great natural beauty. It also has the 4th lowest violent crime rate after Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

I can venture to guess why those 3 states have the least amount of crime.

Snowfall is a positive point for me so VT is the best in terms of weather.

I've been living in Maryland for 4 years and would like to see a video on worst places to drive. I dont think anything tops DC as the worst place to drive. Great video btw!

Weather is subjective. I’m moving to the east coast because they have all four seasons and their christmases are always snowy. I love snow. I love sunshine. I love beautiful fall colors and I love the renewing scenery of spring. If you don’t like snow or cold weather you probably won’t like most states that aren’t California or Florida. I love all seasons. Weather is just not a problem for me.

Completely agree! I hated how he acted that snow was a bad thing. Winter is supposed to have snow, it's what gives the area fun activities to do in the winter.

Born and raised in Connecticut and I think it's safe to say that rudeness and snobbery takes hold of most of the state, especially west of the river. Everyone's always mad about taxes, 60 hour work weeks for less than a living wage and useless college degrees as well. Great place to live if you want to hate your life.

Literally everywhere that’s considered good people are working like crazy to afford it not just CT, it’s a problem to all of us millennials and younger…. Currency is not backed by gold anymore and homes are being used as investments of course it’s a nightmare, add in over immigration as well.

"now I could rank them from best to worst but you people are sick and you want to see everything in a negative light" I laughed at this longer than I should have had
