It really crazy to think of how huge AT once was. It's pretty much the reason we have all this more story driven comedy shows, which is both a blessing and a curse. Still, the show is great, even with the lower points. And i'm very happy to outed Wizards only, that one is my least favorite.

Season 1-5 got all my respect especially Season 4 because it's where this show started to getting really interesting on the plot and it got me interested but honestly; I prefer much more 6-9. The way they were working with characters, plot, world-building and the meta episodes was a strong hit that something the older season didn't had that much, or wasn't good as it, at least. But like I said, I still love the classic seasons especially 4, and I thank this one for making me watch this show. I still remember how I gasped with "I Remember You" and "The Lich" as kid; these episodes were insane. Currently, Season 8, 7 and 6 are my favorite ones.

This show came out when I was eight. When I saw the previews, I thought it would be stupid. However, I watched the premiere anyway. Simply because it had "adventure" in the title, and I always loved the adventure genre. I watched the premiere, and wasn't a big fan. Episode 2 won me over though. Episode 5 ended up my favorite episode for a while, due to it having more of an adventure feeling to it. Throughout the past 8 years, this show has really helped shape me into who I am today. (I feel like such a loser saying that). Once I was 12, I started getting more freedom. I live on a back road, so I started going in the woods. If it weren't for this show, I probably wouldn't have started going into the woods. I probably would have spent my whole childhood on a phone. I started discovering what I was into, because of the show. The old-school weapons in the show caused me to start getting interested in swords, and archery. It helped me make friends due to common interest. It would have strong messages, and questions. These messages would go on to help make me very optimistic. If this show hadn't come out, I know for a fact I would be a completely different person. I loved this show for a long time, and I'm sad it's ending. It will always be one of my all-time favorite shows, and a show that will always have a special place in my heart

To me, Adventure Time is one of the greatest animated series of all time, and I believe it was at it's peak in Season 4, with it's pinnacle being "I Remember You", and I felt like the series never had such an episode afterwards. Granted, I was never into the show when it first came out, it looked too juvenile, but then one day I put on a marathon of it because there was nothing else on, and I immediately got hooked, watching reruns whenever possible and always looking forward to new episodes whenever they came out.

It is 1:30 am! I was not asking to start crying in nostalgia over old Adventure Time. I love pretty much every episode from seasons 1-5 and can remember almost every single one despite not having watched them in a few years. I’m still in denial the show will be over in just ten days. I made it through season 1 and 2 but then you brought up what was missing and I lost it (fitting how that was the first episode of anything that actually made me cry). This show came out during possibly the worst year of my life and it basically improved everything. Because of this show I met my best friend, because of this show I started drawing and writing, because of this show I started becoming active in online discussions. The show started when I was half way through middle school and it ends literally days before I start my final year of college. It made such an impact on me and i’m gonna hold onto it forever. Sorry this kinda turned into an incoherent ramble but that’s just what this show does to me.

Some people claim that the humor in TTG is exactly like that in Adventure Time; crude, juvenile and full of body humor jokes. But there is a HUUUGE difference between the two. In Adventure Time, that kind of humor works because that's what the show's world is like; spontaneous, silly, often random full of strangeness. Whereas with TTG, seeing out favorite heroes act so mean-spirited with each other and act completely against what superheroes are like. Sure, there are things like Lego Batman that parodies the superhero mythos. But I fail to see how TTG is a parody of any kind

Before Season 7 and 8, this one used to be my favorite. Honestly I think 5 is the worst one, not because it was bad, it just wasn't good as the other seasons and I wasn't fan of the pacing there. But it still had a lot of great episodes though, like "Finn the Human", "Simon & Marcy", "Puhoy", "Dungeon Train", "Betty", "Lemonhope", etc.

One of my very favorite cartoon series of all time! When the box set with bonus Finn's hat came out, I bought it, took out the hat, put it on and went through a Hardee's (Carl's Jr) drive-thru, to the utter embarrassment of my kids, exacerbated by their mom posting a pic on Facebook and wearing it into a Walmart immediately after. 🤣 I still have it and my kids have grown to appreciate their dad was anything but boring.

Season 1 was a an experimental goofy comedy that introduced an insane (but captivating) world and characters. Season 2 added more depth and intrigue into the world and characters while still being a fun adventure/comedy show. Season 3 found a great balance between goofy humor, exiting stories, and much heavier themes than the show had tackled at that point. Season 4 (my favorite season) did what Season 3 did but was more ambitious in terms of its episode ideas and character connections. Season 5A feels like the show has a full grasp of its world and its identity. Season 5B struggles in a lot of character and storytelling aspects while being much more hit-or-miss with its one-off episodes. Season 6 feels like the show's priorities have been slightly lost with an overload of existentialism and filler episodes while still having glimpses of the show's great mixture of comedy, action, and drama. Season 7 finds a great compromise between the show's sillier first seasons and the nuanced storytelling of the later seasons. Season 8 perfectly transitions the show into an on-going tight narrative with all the great aspects we've seen before. Season 9-10 continue with the sharp storytelling but are much more laid back and relaxed than the seasons that came before it, almost like the characters are understandably worn out from all the pain they have had to deal with.

I have 2 large disagreements with things said in the video, but overall it's great.~ The first disagreement I have is probably the more controversial of the two (just to get it out of the way first). 1) I honestly really like it when AT shows the flaws of its characters, be it Finn, Bubblegum or otherwise. At least, flaws of characters that I like. Some people say it makes the characters seem very unlikable, but I feel that it just expands who they are. It really might just be me, but I like to see the bad sides of people in stories, not just the good sides. 2) I don't really think there *is* a Golden Age of Adventure Time. The show changes a lot, but I think that's one of the reasons it's so good. For me, it made the show much less one-note, fulfilling much more than just the slot for "wacky comedy/adventure show".

I'm a bit surprised you don't like Fionna and Cake. The whole Fionna and Cake alternate universe schtick was one of my favorite things about AT and is actually one of the things that drew me to the show in the first place. I just loved how they exemplified that Adventure Time was always willing to explore new concepts and ideas every episode. Plus Marshall Lee and Prince Gumball were voiced by Childish Gambino and Neil Patrick Harris man!!! How could you not love that?? 😂😂😭😭 I actually wish we got even more Fionna and Cake shenanigans before the finale, but oh well

I remember for Christmas one year my sister made me a Finn hat and it was probably my favorite gift ever. I used to wear it to school all the time and it actually did a great job keeping my head warm but unfortunately someone stole it. Shortly afterwards they started selling official ones but those weren’t nearly as good as the one my sister made me.

I consider seasons 3 - 4.5 the best the series has to offer (this isn’t to say future stuff like three buckets or the mini series weren’t fun or that there weren’t some stinkers in there like dream of love but it wasn’t as consistent anymore) and going directly from the strongest to the weakest era of the series kinda hit hard for me and made me not keep up with the show for a little while, specifically at frost and fire was when I felt consistency in quality and character writing had slipped

I really agree with some of what you said, and Im glad I wasn't the only one who really liked the king worm episode. Im also disappointed with how the show annihilated the finn/flame princess arc, though frost and fire, while subjectively disappointing for sure, was still a really good episode objectively speaking. I do disagree with most of your s5 opinions. The one lemongrab epsiode where they show up for a "royal dinner" was probably the funniest episode I've ever seen, i never found the lemongrab ones overly disturbing. I also loved the rootbeer guy episode, it was an excellent change of pace with really good angles that put perspective in how finn and jake are seen in this episode. In fact, root beer guy is in my top 3 favorite episodes of the series. I hate seasons 7-10. Not because the quality is bad per se, but because the story became overly linear yet still disorganized, pretentious and urgent. I liked the show more before everything became pretentious and constantly urgent. I liked the lich being the contrast to the silly adventurous show, not one of many cogs to the crazy ass world lore slammed on us like mid season 6. My biggest pet peeves in franchises are painfully obvious direction shifts. Then the show lost its focus and jumped the gun 1000 years to show us the depressing cycle of this universe. The show and the characters simply got too convoluted, and their designs also changed just way too much. Never expected adventure time to give me existential nihilism.

It's crazy that Adventure Time is ending. Since season 6 it slowly faded out of my life and i just forgot about it until now, I guess I remember when I Remember You came out and I cried for like 20 minutes, I remember yelling at my TV screen when they killed off Prismo, and I remember getting very confusing feelings when Finn literally went down on Flame Princess on children's television holy *fuck dudes y'all remember that-* I remember making OCs and writing Fiona and Cake fanfics, and drawing in the Adventure Time style with my friends... 2014 was such a fun year to be a kid in. Adventure Time made middle school bearable for me, and it made me realize I want to be a storyboard artist! Like you said, Nick, seeing how much story can be told in 11 minutes really inspired me to keep drawing and to make my own stuff. If it wasn't for Adventure Time, I'd probably want to be a psychologist or an actor or something dumb like that I wish we could all have a cartoon like Adventure Time again. The second half of Gen Z is really gonna miss out on a gem. I also wish Adventure Time could have ended while more people were watching. It didn't deserve to go out this way, man

I don’t blame you for not sticking around. It was years before the series had good plot momentum and entertaining writing again. If you wanna try to get back into it I’d recommend watching Stakes, but you still need to watch the mediocre episodes to get everything. I love this show but it can be such a pain at times.

I've always compared it to Beatles Albums. Season 1 and 2 compare to "Please Please Me" and "Beatles for Sale", 3 and 4 are surreal like "Revolver" and "Sgt. Pepper" and 5 is like the " _White Album_ " due to his length being twice as long and it containing so many different topics. Love em. The rest aswell. 6- end is very technically advanced but soesn't have the charme as the others like Abbey Road and Let It Be.

Man. I can still remember going to the theaters when I was 7 and before the official trailers started, I can remember seeing a teaser with a couple of scenes from the first episodes of Adventure Time with some dramatic and operatic music playing in the background. Like that, I was hooked and tried to get to every movie early just to get a chance to see the teaser. Hard to believe that was so long ago. Man, time really flies. I’m 15 now and I can still remember tuning in every week to see the show and even buying some of the DVDs just to get the character hats!

dude I think your being to harsh on season 5.2 because in truth there was a lot of great things about this season you claim PB was ''out of character'' when in truth she has always acted this way she has always had a struggle of understanding her people as well as explore and this season just brought more we see in season 4 this when she locked up FP,we see in the suitor that she has distance her self from people focus on her kingdom all these aspects were there to begin with and this season brought them into a darker light Hell even Finn was In character he has always acted like a jerk with episodes like ''all the little people'' showing finns darker side and how he desire to control people, we see in ''reign of gunter'' that finn is willing to date other girls, all these aspects of him have been apparent it was until he made the mistake of breaking up with Phoebe,and a lot of the season do's have finn suffer consequences the narrative does'nt try to justify finns actions and makes him learn from this mistake for example in episodes like in ''Love games''and ''dungeon train'' show that finn is trying to learn from these mistakes,the only instances were he do's act out of place was ''red throne'' (which i'll admit was a weak episode) however is that finns actions are questioned by the narrative and has him suffer consequences however he doesn't fully grasp what he has done wrong and the season 6 premie has finn be put into a similar situation that FP was put into and he starts to realize his problems,r He was always capeble of that, and it's a good thing that the episode shows us another side of those kind of relationship a much That is actually why AT is so good, because it's really irreverent, and fearless of breaking empaty in the name of what they truly want to say... But I'm sorry for being anoying again, I just really like this discussion.t. It shows that everyone has faults, and it does it in an exciting and emotional way. I wholeheartedly believe that Finn would do that just for a dream that felt good, he's a very naive kid that grew pretty selfish for a while. It fit. And honestly, I don't feel like it was that bad anyways. People watch Breaking Bad and things where people do clearly immoral things, and that doesn't turn them off. I understad that Adventure Time hasn't established itself as a show about people doing bad things and I am saying season 5.2 was without its flaws ,I feel lie some episodes like ''red throne'' were duds same can be said play-date, and james Im just saying that the show is not directionless, the series is an episodic series were anything can happen its not about the on going mysteries, its about there world,there characters and the fact that anything can happen,that was were invested in,to see what these character will get into next and what will happen to them next,

I disagree, I thought this season was really good compared to 5. I do agree too though Season 7 and 8 are better, but Season 6 is still one of my favorites. It is when I decided to follow this show's for real and made me appreciate more Finn's character development.

I stopped watching the show for a while around season 6, which was arguably one of the show's worst seasons. The show during this time felt like it was trying way too hard to be deep and philosophical. A lot of the episodes end up being pretty boring and lacking surface level substance. However, I kinda got back into the show recently. In the recent seasons, the show has become good again. It has stopped trying to be philosophical and is instead going for a nice middle ground .

Okay I'm gonna hyper focus on a really small point you made. Another Way, is possibly one of my favorite espisodes, yeah Finn is stubborn but he's in pain, he was forced into an uncomfortable situation, and then when confronted with More uncomfortable situations, he's desperate to do things his way. This may seem really childish and silly, and it kind of is, but it also shows that despite being a hero, Finn can be, wrong. Up till this point he's never really had to do anything but follow his instincts to help others. But now following his instincts literally directly causes the suffering of others, and he has to learn to be more go with the flow, and seeing the validity in other people's ways of living, while still knowing that his way is valid as long as he doesn't take it too far.

I'm quite the opposite when it comes to the Lemongrab episodes 😂 he's one of my favorite side-characters, because as someone with generally low frustration tolerance (working on it in therapy though 😅)...there are times where one minor inconvenience too many makes my insides feel the way Lemongrab is characterized haha...like honestly "UNNACCEPTABLLLEEE!!!" is sometimes just a mood 😩🤣😭 and also he's just freaking hilarious to me in a dark, ridiculous way 😂 Also, I personally think I overall prefer the later seasons of the show, because of the further depth it gives a lot of the characters, and the additional world-building. I agree, though that season 5 just DRAGS, like an album with too many songs and not enough editing of ideas.

I remember when the show premiered how excited me and a few people were in my class (who I never thought I'd care to be friends with until we were) I loved watching it and talking about every detail we picked up on and where we spotted the snail. Even 4 years after, when we started A-level exams, the excitement was still there, though exams kinda killed any ability to watch as often. 5 years after those exams I hear the show was ending, but never saw episodes showing as often on TV, so I decided to watch them all with my gf and I've never been happier with a show. Honestly, for a few episodes early on, it's worth another rewatch, simply because you learn something about a character later on that still connects with said character in what would seem like a one off joke. (a lot of this is Gunther) I'm holding off on your other video until we reach the finale though o^o

April 5th 2010... the day I turned 13. I watched this show religiously when it came out. Eventually, we had to get rid of cable and I no longer had access to CN, so I stopped watching after season 4. Currently 21, and this show still has a special place in my heart.

I watched AT seasons 1-5 during high school, and instantly knew that it was on another level from all other existing cartoons at the time. It was obvious that it was going to pave the way for some amazing new animation and inspire a new generation of cartoons. I never got to watch seasons after 5, but I always loved how different adventure time was.

great video man, as an old adventure time fan this was pretty cool to see and i especially realised some more small details i never noticed. in the last year or so ive moved a little away from cartoons and more so to anime as i prefer more in depth story telling and more of an overall story based series, but going back to stuff like the first few seasons of adventure time, regular show and sometimes even my childhood favourite chowder XD but i still keep up to date with whats going on with animation on cartoon network etc. keep it up!
