honestly, it would be a pretty good way to differentiate them. Neeko disguises as allies while LeBlanc disguises as the enemies I don't know how that would work and if it would even fool teammates, especially ones in the same voice chat and would immediately tell she's the fake, but it would make sense for her

her coven lore is the best! Elderwood LB killed Coven LB defending the elderwoods, then stole her appearance, name, and magic. Prestige LB is resurrected Coven LB as the vessel for her god.

The thing that frustrates me about them reverting her midscope was that, if I recall, they said one of the issues they had with it was that she was a balance nightmare because her Q sigil bounce effect gave her insane sustain with Gunblade. Which just made she wonder why they didn't try to change how it worked so Gunblade didn't heal that much, like make it so the bounces were counted as AoE so it got reduced healing? Also they removed Gunblade so that reason aged poorly

Leblanc being behind Annie and Rell even existing is kinda crazy. For the uninformed she’s the one who fucked with Annie’s mom causing Tybaulk to reside within the mom who then transferred the power to the teddy bear in order to save Annie and sacrificed herself in the process. The Ravenbloom conservatory is the place that her mom came from and where Annie goes and burns down in her LOR cards. In a mirror to Annie Rell was in the Roseguard Academy and the experimentation she experienced was caused by Leblanc as well. There’s actually a reference in the flavor text of the ravenbloom lor card to Rells academy being destroyed meaning that Rell and Annie are roaming within the noxian lands and could possibly meet(if riot ever decides to actually do lore)

Im honestly disappointed that you didn't mention the "Leblanc is Jarvan" thing where you could see her reflection in the amulet of the monster in front of Jarvan, and it adds so much to me that it basically made her one of my favorite characters in the game who always gets fucked up by the writing, like in Rell's lore, you're telling me the mastermind behind it all didn't plan to take out the test subjects corpses from the location? BULLSHIT!

Back when I started playing League, Leblanc was like the only champion I played. Which is funny cuz I didnt even know that her W did damage... This was back when LB's Q still did some damage tho, so I just maxed Q and used her w as a dash lmao

"Kayn doesn't get any skins." Kayn has 6 skins. Among them there is a Prestige Edition... and TWO Legendaries! There are half a dozen Champions who are OLDER than Kayn who have less skins than he does. Ornn and Zoe were released in the same year as Kayn, yet neither of them have even a single Legendary. Let's not pretend that Kayn gets overlooked for skins.

My honest take is I wish they took the part of Neeko's passive that lets her turn into champions (her old passive basically) and gave it to Leblanc. It probably wouldn't be very fair but at least it fits with the whole deception theme.

@@asingulartowlett1389 It's funny that you say that, in summary the assassin update was a disaster, they removed burst damage in exchange for other tools causing the majority of assassins to be either broken or useless, in the end they reverted or reworked all the changes except for Katarina, she has received only minor changes since then.

Some people really get it backwards. It’s not “this champ design is bad because it doesn’t fit their lore”. It’s “this lore was inappropriate for their champ design”. League might have some alright lore, but it’s all built on retcons. The truest essence of these old characters is their ingame.

I see why you liked the Leblanc Rework Nickyboi but as a Leblanc main, my main issue with the rework is that it was just the complete opposite of quality of life, like everything about the rework was unintuitive and annoying, and there were like weird delays in cast times and stuff. What drew me to Leblanc was her Fluidity, how her spells flowed together naturally, and the rework took that all away, that’s why I stopped playing it after a dozen games, it just felt like a different champion.

We in the Leblanc mains subreddit used to call the reworked Leblanc LeDelay and Leclunk. I will say I liked her ult clones, but the universal clone was useless and her kit was unintuitive af. I’m glad they reverted it but she’s not much of a deceiver.

Here's my pitch for including 900 Year Old LeBlanc in current LeBlanc: in her recall, she summons a mirror and admires herself, but the self in the mirror slowly ages until it's decrepit. You wouldn't have to model it, it would just be a flat texture on a flat mirror

I’ve been waiting for this one for MONTHS! There nothing I love more than illusionists and girl failures 💜 that amazing fan design is from riot hylia. I think he’s the head concept artist for riot RN we love him sm.i remember in her old lore her name was Evaine which is basically my name so love that. It always rubbed me the wrong way that her title is the Deceiver but her primary damage source is her body slamming into people. She’s silly and great and desperately needs an ASU or at least a fucking legendary. Makes me sick that there are new champions that have TWO while she has none with the same three voicelines. She’s got so much potential.

LB is one of the few champions I just refuse to learn in any way. I'm a League vet from the olden days but her gameplay is so anti skill, anti FUN that I just hate the champ, and that GLORIOUS time of her rework was amazing because as stated in the video her ult was global Fiddlesticks and it was BEAUTIFUL! I 100% think LB needs a gameplay rework from the ground up because dying to someone in 1/10th of a second who has four dashes just isn't cool.

I did like the reworked LeBlanc's global clone, that was really fun to use, but having to wait to proc her Q/passive was such a pain in the ass. She's an assassin, she's supposed to go in quick, deal as much damage as she can and possibly go out. Waiting for a mark to be complete just kinda killed it for me, it was probably more healthy for the game overall, but imagine it on any other assassin. Rengar ults you, but he has to wait 1.5 sec before he can kill you, Zed ults you, but he has to wait 1.5 before he can shuriken you, Kha jumps on you, but he has to wait 1.5 sec before he can eviscerate you. It just felt bad to play with for the champion that she was designed to be

I wish we heard more about LeBlancs successes, in specific. Right now it seems like her schemes have resulted in a lot of problems for Noxus and her power base. For example Rell, Annie, Shurima, and so on.

I like to read her current design as a kind of weaponized yet subverted "jester's privilige" She looks like a stage magician (because she literally used to be) - everything about her reads theatricity, camp, over the top presence. And therein lies the fun potential for subversion. Normally, that kind of visage is a mask to hide a more mundane and otherwise insignificant person - the mask is almost inappropriately screaming for attention, or, so it would, if it were to be taken seriously within the bounds of the identity of the person who bears it. But, being a performer's presentation, it "gets away" with this demand because of the underlying social contract that makes this "deception" palpable. You have to suspend your disbelief and play along with the theater, in part because you know, or presume, that the person underneath lacks the presence that their visage does. But LeBlanc? She's the opposite. She's the image of power and control - an all-knowing, everpresent shadow ruler. There's this fun ironic dynamic of her taking on the guise of a theatrical actor which normally confers more presence whilst herself overshadowing it with her true identity. You can just imagine somebody, upon witnessing LeBlanc in public, perhaps letting out a chuckle at the perceived pomp and camp of her presence, presuming that, as expected, it hides somebody equal or even lesser than themselves, only for her to truly hold as much, if not more power, than any king or queen. It's what makes "pauper kings" such a fun archetype as well. The irony of performance and perception is something that is fun to play on and very cathartic when revealed for what it is.

With the reasoning behind the Faker skin, a lot of people consider LeBlanc to be his best champ. She’s certainly one of his go-to picks and I believe for a few years he never lost a match while using her.

I loved the LeBlanc rework for the reasons you said, it gave her some much needed depth and trickery, as well as less instant burst. The problem with it was Riot didn't feel like balancing it (I'm not joking, they didn't even pretend to). Two main issues with the rework both stemmed from her passive doing most of her damage, which is fine, but her E could both apply and trigger the passive by itself, making her E a legit 1 shot button as long as it attached and popped. Did they fix that? No. The other was her Q, which bounced to all marked targets giving her W>Q waveclear. For some reason each Q bounce was counted as single target and Gunblade still existed, so she full healed off of every wave. Did they fix it? No, I have no idea why. Looking back its kind of ridiculous how they just left her kit with blatant issues and then threw their hands in the air like, "fuck it, its unfixable" and reverted her. We never got to see how the new kit would work with the stupid interactions removed.

The reason she got reverted was not only did the player base hated her new kit the Q used to bounce aka they gave a hyper mobile assassin great wave clear as well, add Gunblade and she was an unkillable, splitpushing, hyper mobile assassin. The only fair thing on that monstrosity was the passive.

I main Leblanc and I would love to see them give her an ASU or even another crack at the midscope update. Don't get me wrong I know that a kit based in the idea of deception and trickery can't really be good in a competitive game cause humans have brains, fool me once as the saying goes. I think I can count on two hands the amount of times during the reverted rework I actually messed around with the clone mechanic, the fact that it put your ult on CD to do what is more or less nothing realistically felt so bad. I'd rather just do damage with a second e or get some extra movement with another W.

I’m with Nicky on this, I really REALLY hate Leblanc gameplay-wise. An AP burst mage that is able to become an assassin that can dash in dash out without repercussions and potentially get a kill is most infuriating for me. Especially when dealing with them in ARAM good luck playing anyone squishy because she’ll target you specifically and get away with it

Im pretty confident they just took the LeBlanc in FFX-2 and changed the model enough to be legally different and dropped her in. Seriously, look up Leblanc for Final Fantasy X2 and TELL me that's not the source material. Also, within 5 minutes of the game starting, the FFX2 Leblanc was revealed to be an illusionist pretending to be Yuna.

Actually, IIRC I think it wasn't because of Leb players hating the revamp one, it was because everyone else playing against her absolutely hated her revamp kit. Back when Gunblade was still a thing in League, Leblanc could legit W a wave, waiting for her passive to be ready, then Q the wave and she would be almost back to full health because her Q bounces dealt extra dmg to minions (literally got hot fixed), making her a very good split pusher. Not only that, her passive legit made her even more annoying to play against (not that the current version is any less annoying to face, but anyway) because she did not have to fully commit anything for a trade, just needed to W in, hit you and apply passive, then W out and Q the wave and you got chunked down from the Q bounce. If you find Brand's W E combo annoying, then this was basically just that but in a different form. Her E also timely enough dealt the second instance of dmg right after her passive was ready to proc as well, so the revamp version had her Q E combo neatly packed into simply hitting E. Btw mind you, her passive proc fucking had 80% AP ratio, and her Q has 50%, that is 130% AP every 5s, not counting the W that hit you at the beginning. They had to completely butcher her W to only have 20% AP ratio and deal 100 dmg at max rank, and I think this is one of if not the most ridiculous AP and dmg nerf an ability had ever gotten.

LeBlanc is definetly not the faceless. Sure it makes sense from superficial points of view, like her being an important champion in regards to Noxus and being a mysterious figure. But her and Swain are heavily opposed, and Swain does not trust her or the rose in the least, with good reason to.

Would giving LeBlanc a solid backstory (exactly how she got into Mordekaiser’s court, why she personally wanted him gone, etc.) ruin LeBlanc’s character? Does she need a multiple choice backstory, or would it be okay to give her more solid characterization and story?
