Honestly? When Platinum's name came up, a lot of people went, "HUH??? THEY'RE NOT DEAD??? All the founder's left!" Which is a fair thing to feel as like a first impression. But, you know what I start to think about with this kind of announcement? While it does suck that the main leads in that team left to go to other places (or go back to their previous companies like Kamiya with Capcom... Clover is now CloverS, which is hilarious), it helps gets some new blood out there in getting their name to be known. I always find it neat when new faces step up to the plate, so I think it's a bit too early to judge if Platinum's involvement with the new 3D Ninja Gaiden will be good or not. Besides, Koei Tecmo is also there.

Makes sense to me. Old blood or new, Platinum has a reputation to live up to, and it looks like they intend to live up to it.

Yeah, it helps dispel the notion that games and studios are made up of only a handful of big name, well known devs that get all the credit for the end result, rather than the work of a hundreds of people putting dozens of man hours into making a game, only for their name in the credits to go by completely ignored.
@RoyalHustler0953 минут бұрын
Kamiya isn’t back at Capcom. Clovers is its own studio. They’re just working with Capcom to work on that new Okami game.

I think the strength of how Xbox/Microsoft is doing these is they're only showing a few games and taking great care to show us that the devs give a shit about they're projects. The dev interviews relate to the footage on screen and they're giving us a lot of behind the scenes information on how these games came to be. Basically, Xbox is taking the approach of showing only a few games but making sure all of them are exciting over a deluge of titles with one or two big announcements in them.

It sucks that mick gordon isnt coming back for the next doom, but they burned that bridge so damn far and tried to ruin his reputation that he spent decades acquiring that i dont blame him. I hope his next project goes well and i hope the new people working on the doom music do good enough to warrant working on the franchise
@pedroportela6476Күн бұрын
I'm out of the loop. What did Bethesda do to Gordon?
@sbfh014Күн бұрын
@pedroportela6476 there's alot of details you can probably Google yourself, but from what I recall, the music in the dlc for doom eternal was not liked and people really disliked mick for it, plus id(it might have been Bethesda but iirc it was id) threw him under the bus and had to get someone else to finish the rest of the music, and it wasn't until a year ago or so when mick came out saying they rushed him without any help(usually musicians get to see the level or something beforehand to give them inspiration for the music, they did not do that for mick) and had him do the music within like, a month tops or something?(iirc, I'm probably getting it wrong but mostly just doing broad strokes) and still to this day have not paid mick for the work he did, rushed or otherwise

Cyberpunk stuff is pretty normal for modern Ninja Gaiden. Ryu cutting apart military hardware is a persistent theme, along with all the demons and stuff. :D It was known for including fighting game mechanics into an action game, with light & heavy attacks, blocks, guard breaks, anti-evasive attacks and throws incorporated into the combat (much to the chagrin of those people who fought Murai the first time.) The second game actually shifted direction a good bit after 1, according to Itagaki's vision for the game, after which he moved on. People are kind of split on preferring the feel of 1 vs. 2. (I prefer the first one over the second.) NG3 was a bit of a lesser middle ground between them that didn't really thrill anyone, and this was back when reviews were getting pretty brutal. It also had none of the varied weapons other games had, but there WAS a better release of NG3 called Razor's Edge that made up for some of those faults including adding new weapons. 3 did have a really good recurring boss, but nonetheless, we were NOT expecting Ninja Gaiden to return like this. Awesome year ahead.

I was already sold on trying out Expedition 33 from the reveal trailer, but the more they show the more excited I am. Honestly, I don't even really mind if it ends up having some minor first game problems (like some frame drops here and there for example). I'd just like to see it do well as I love turn based RPG's and would really like to see more western studios have a bash at them. Plus I like this new game company so far, their reveal of the French language cast for this game was hilarious (reminded me of some of the joke stuff Larian have done around BG3). One thing I will say though is that as much as I'm looking forward to playing it, I'm relieved it's releasing in April as that gives me two months to enjoy MH Wilds 😄.

I just hope Expedition 33 doesn't flop on exploring it's concept, that would make the game feel like it's not living up to its potential no matter how good the game itself is.
@MegaDarkness5000Күн бұрын
I'm hoping they iron out that frame rate, even if it's just 30fps cap.
@DRAG0NSPIRIT10Күн бұрын
@@MegaDarkness5000 I'm sure they'll try to make it as consistent as they can, because of the whole quick time stuff being part of the combat.

I really appreciate that they showed stuff that is realistic to be excited for and not announce like Elder scrolls comgng to you 2029 PLEASE BE HYPED. Hopefully studios take a note here. It's cool to tell someone "it is in development" but that gets rarely anyone excited when you know it is not coming out the next 4-5 years lol Good showcase! :D

Those are my two most anticipated this year. Xenoblade X is my favorite game of all time. Expedition 33 I have an unhealthy obsession with that game like I did in 2013 with XCX for the WiiU 😂

Really looking forward to all of these games. The art design, aesthetics, gameplay, and story from what I saw looks amazing, so I hope none of them bomb. Never played a Ninja Gaiden game before, but I'm hooked to giving it a try with what was presented. I've been fascinated for a long time by the real world swamps and bayous of the American South, and interested in the spiritual mysticism of Creole and Voodoo culture, so I'm really happy to see these aspects so prominently featured in a game. I can't gush enough about Clair Obscur's visuals. French animation has really been coming up in the world of late, so I'm eager to see what more they have to offer. Ironically, I would've just been erased from that world if I were put in it. And what more can I say about the rebooted Doom franchise? The unfortunate, unpleasant business with Mick Gordon aside, the series has been an amazing good time to rip and tear into demons. I don't see them fucking up here, and looking forward to all the new environments and demon designs we get to have fun with this time around.

As a big fan of Doom 2016 and a HUUUGE fan of Doom Eternal, I am looking so forward to this game. It will definitely be a big shift in gameplay, but I also appreciate that! And Nico, you definitely should stream a Doom game, but stream Doom 2016. It’s a lot easier to just pick up and play through the game than Doom Eternal, so stream that one first. Doom Eternal has a LOT of extra mechanics and a larger jump in difficulty that makes it harder to just jump in and play through the game once.
