Well to.fair to everyone else. Wario's existence in Nitendo is unstable, he just becomes whatever personality changes to match what they want. Wario and Waluigi being best buddies is probably the most stable factor of Wario's existence. Even his type of greed changes from game to game. Wario I'd say is indeed self-centred compared to Mario and Luigi, if we assume that they actually work for a living and not live off Peach's thanks for saving her. But he's supposed to be Mario's rival, just like Shadow is Sonic's and all the Sonic fan boys love either Shadow or Knuckles, why should Nitendo fans then hate Wario who doesn't go around shooting civilians, and has not in game ever directly helped Bowser?
