I too have a garden like yours, about the same space. I too would love a bigger garden, but I do look at it in a positive way, that it is less to look after, and no grass to cut! I have trees and plants in pots, and with the hose pipe ban here in Devon, England, it means I have to water everything by hand, in the evenings, with the watering can, but I actually enjoy doing that, as I know it is helping the plants thrive, and it is good exercise for me, coming and going from the kitchen, which is not far from the garden, to fill the watering can up with water! I love your window boxes, they are so pretty. I buy ready planted hanging baskets, which come in a plastic hanging pot, then de camp them into wicker hanging basket, with chain to hang them up, instead of the plastic ones. You could also grow some tomato plants in pots, as they love the sunshine, and you can then pick fresh tomatoes for your lovely food that you make! xxx

love the rug, not too obtrusive but adds just the right softness. the purple campanula is a great color for the space. questions for your Q&A: 1. what would be the most people you’d entertain in your space? i also live in a small apartment and when i’ve had more than 4 i feel cramped although i do have an adjoining living room and dining room table that comfortably seats 6. 2. do you feel that a host should have to deal with others odd dietary restrictions when it comes to what they serve. if someone had a known allergy i wouldn’t serve that food, but these days it seems to go way beyond that. what’s a host to do? 3. i’d love to see more in depth your work with the producer of your candles and scent, and what that entailed. will you be showing us that in the future? 4. how would you define your current style and what are your decorating goals for the remainder of the year? thanks so much for your videos, they’re a calm in the storm.

I have a few of the soft magenta pink hydrangea. The blooms are large but they are made up of individual flowers that are smaller than the old fashion type. Of course, they would be blue in a different type of soil.

Try adding used coffee grounds or tea leaves to your hydrangeas soil, it will add acid to the soil and color to the blossoms.

I don't know if you know, but if the purple plants in your window boxes are perennials, they will come back every year. The garden looks wonderful. I just finished decorating my back deck, with both hanging plants and in pots this week and I am loving it. I'm happy seeing you add color to your garden. My deck is filled with many colorful plants. Thank you for the soup recipe. I'm going to make it and freeze for a family vacation in July.

The flowers really enhance your courtyard garden with beautiful color and texture! The flower box is stunning as a first impression when people come to visit as well as enjoyed from inside! I’m not sure how Great Britain’s tendencies for rain will do with your outdoor rug on the stone. I think they can dry out easier on wooden decks or those teak slatted pavers that connect to form a deck/patio (available at some Costcos or home improvement stores) and provide drainage and a bit of air circulation. Since you are working with the rug company, perhaps they can recommend what works best to prevent a soggy, moldy rug with the least amount of hassle. Regardless of the potential weather issues, the rug looks fantastic and makes everything feel homier and cozier. You’ve created a wonderful outdoor living space to fully enjoy! 😍🥰😍
