As I agree with you as to getting your fingers all messy when making scones, I highly recommend a pastry blender. Not only does the butter not warm up with the touch of your fingers, there's no mess to you and the ingredients get combined as they should be. I even put my pastry blender in the freezer a little bit prior to using it. Scones come out best when all of the ingredients are cool. I've been doing this for years with much success.

I make that type of arrangement every year to give to neighbors. I save tin cans during the year and put that in the center to hold water. Putting a thin layer of petroleum jelly on the outside extends the life of the pumpkin after I soak them in water with a small amount of bleach. I make 15-20 every Fall. Hope this helps

I, too, am Cynthia Wilson and enjoy your videos so much here in Las Vegas, NEVADA, USA. You make me feel as if I'm spending time with a friend. You are so relaxed and relaxing. I love your grace and little asides. It was cute, your reaction to the removing of the insides of the pumpkin and when you hand kneaded the butter into the dry ingredients. The glimpses into your life are refreshing and feel uncontrived and natural even if you script them a little beforehand. You are the breath of fresh air I look forward to every week. Always my best wishes.

This was wonderful. I especially like the idea of cheese scones. A few tips for you: use a glass jar inside the pumpkin (or even trim down a plastic disposable water bottle). I do this inside a chinoiserie ginger jar when I use it as a vase. Rose stems are supposed to be trimmed whilst submerged completely in a dish of water. This prevents the freshly cut edge from drying out and preventing water absorption. Don’t hate me - used to work in the flower industry. P.S. I have seen that book and love it too.

The pumpkin looks beautiful. Another easy craft you can do is to just draw your house number on a pumpkin then get the gold or silver thumb tacks and push them in. You don’t even empty the pumpkin so they last longer. Put it at your front door and your done. I always get compliments on mine.

Nicolas, thank you for this elegant yet relaxed time with you. One tip if you don't like touching the flour and butter with your hands: Crisscross 2 butter knives and put them into the flour and butter. Pull them apart repeatedly until the butter is in small pieces and mixed well with the flour. In baking terms they call it cutting butter into flour.

Greetings Nicolas! Your video was awesome, waiting for me to watch when I got back from Church. This morning was a little something different for my wife's Sunday School class. For an example of answered Prayer, she took in "Dude" our kitten, who was returned to us by awesome golfers from the local Golf Course last month. Dude had stowed away under my Brother In Law's car, and went missing for a day and a half. The children were thrilled by the rescue story. Love your Channel! A 🇨🇦

Thank You Nicolas!! This is a pretty terrific idea but I think you should have cooked this pumpkin and made the soup recipe on your website. This pumpkin with its deep red-orange flesh is great for soups. We eat this variety here in NYC [and North East US] in the Fall and Winter months. This variety is also great roasted in the oven with cinnamon , nutmeg and honey and toast the seeds as well. FYI: if the pumpkin is labeled as "organic", its' highly likely it can be eaten. There are pumpkins that cannot be eaten so easily that this design idea can used for. Cheers and Hugs from NYC!!!
