Malaysian street food tour in Kuala Lumpur- trying the *best* food in Malaysia!

Malaysian food has a reputation for being some of the best in Asia, and in today's video we get to try 13 different Malaysian street foods to eat the country's most popular dishes! We were most excited to try Nasi Lemak which is Malaysia's national dish, and is said to be one of the best foods in Malaysia!

In our opinion, the best way to get to know a country and culture is through it's food, which is why we booked a street food tour in Kuala Lumpur for the first week of our visit. During our tour, we got to try sala, mangosteen, Malaysian roti with curries, mee goreng, bihun soup, mee kari, durian, cendol, putu, ikan kampung, malaysian style satay, otak otak, and the famous nasi lemak. Our best advice if you want to do a food tour is to schedule the tour early in your visit to a country so you can enjoy the food during your entire visit, and also, arrive to the food tour hungry! It is always a real challenge trying to have enough stomach room to fit everything during an amazing street food tour.
During our street food tour, we got to explore the communities of Chow Kit and Kampong Bharu. Walking around these communities in Kuala Lumpur is an experience in itself, and we loved taking in the views and feel of the neighbourhoods as we tried many of the best food in Kuala Lumpur.

The food you eat is mostly simple food that is easily available everywhere in Malaysian street food, the top list is Roti Canai, Satay, Nasi Lemak, Mee Goreng (fried noodles), and Cendol/ABC (Malaysian ice cream). If you want other food besides this, you can eat at the mall food court, food truck, or night market (at night only) it has hundreds of menus available from various countries.

India - Paratha Singapore - Roti Prata Malaysia - Roti Canai All looks the same but made differently with different texture and in the case of Paratha from India - a different flour even! Btw Roti Canai from Malaysia was voted no 1 bread in the world by TasteAtlas this month. Roti Prata came in at no 12 and Paratha I believe at number 29.

sometimes you say things for the sake of impression like everythign you're trying is so 'out of the ordinary' but soemtimes the thigns that you're not used to, are things that youre actually used to. like vegetables for dessert! what's wrong with that if the vegetable is sweet? of the top of my head... a sweet potato pie which u guys love and cherish... still unusual? pumpkin pie... carrot cake.. candied yams..
