What wall colour would you recommend for a kitchen with grey cabinets? I was thinking a feature wall on the the opposite side as well. Thanks
@NicoleSage12 күн бұрын
I'd go for something warm that is going to balance the darkness of the grey, I'd personally go for a warm white such as Natural Hessian or Almond White. If you're going to do an accent wall, just don't go for something too bold as it will create a really strong contrast rather than making the room flow well and feel cosy. Hope that helps!

@NicoleSage thanks Nicole. Almond white looks lovely. For the accent wall. Would sage green work?

Hello Nicole! Thank you so much for making these videos, they are very helpful! Wondering if you have any opinions on "White Cotton" for a small South facing top floor small flat (lots of UK sun!) (no pets, no kids). Going for a Scandinavian style decor. Any other whites (off-whites) you could recommend for me to consider? Thank you again :)

Thanks so much for your comment and glad you liked them! White Cotton has a slight yellow undertone so it may feel too warm in the sun, I would personally opt for a white with a light grey undertone which will help achieve that Scandic look, and it will balance the intensity of the sun. Look at Rock Salt, I'd still get a tester of the two so you can see how they both feel in the space; amzn.to/3OdODDG Hope that helps!

we have new sofas Royal blue and Mustard armchair, thinking ofr going with Jasmine white, what do you think although egyption cotton looks great, what are your thoughts?
@NicoleSage3 ай бұрын
Yes - Jasmine White is a great choice, much lighter in tone than Egyptian Cotton. I'd personally grab a tester of each, paint an A4 sheet of paper so you can move it around the room and put against your furniture so you can see what works best in your space. Egyptian Cotton has a more defining warmth to it, it is lovely in most settings :)

Hi..after watching your video,. I'm kinda hook up with cotton Egyptian, but I have light cherry timber flooring. Would it be suitable?
@NicoleSage4 ай бұрын
It is a lovely shade! I don't see why not as it will contrast well with the flooring, feel free to send me a photo through to hello@sleek-chic.co.uk so I can visualise it better, thanks.

Hi nicole enjoyed the videos.. currently deciding on what colours to go with! Any advice? Open plan kitchen / living room.. south facing .. lots of light and kitchen is whisper grey(light grey) with white worktop. Got a few testers... Egyptian cotton, polished pebble and timeless.. Would ideally like to do same throughout the house! Dont want it to feel cold.. will have to see how the grey kitchen looks against the Egyptian cotton.. black accents a good idea

Thank you! Apologies for the late reply, polished pebble and timeless will definitely feel cold in other parts of the house if you're planning the same colour throughout as you may have North facing or East,West spaces that have little light at certain times of the day. It does involve more paint, but I would strongly consider choosing a different colour for the rest of the house or rooms which doesn't directly flow from your kitchen. Polished Pebble and Timeless would work well in your sunny South facing kitchen as it will balance the intensity of the sun, however, I think the grey combined with the grey kitchen won't give enough warmth and variation of colour, so for me, try Egyptian Cotton and see what you think, it is a great colour that works well in most orientation of rooms. But YES always black accents, it will tie the space together and ground it, hope that helps! Nicole x

@@NicoleSage no problem, thanks for the reply! ok for the bedrooms thats dont get much light i will go for egyptian cotton, was thinking because they dont get light it woiuld be too dark! timeless for the open plan kitchen /living room but lke you say may not be enough colour variation from the light grey cabinets.. might end up being egyptian cotton there too! yes great tip on the black accents, door handles and table

Hi Nicole 👋 I really love your content 😊 would you use the blue on all walls floor to ceiling? I have a south facing living room. Many thanks Nikki 😊
@NicoleSage Жыл бұрын
Hi Nikki, thanks so much and for watching! YES! Colour drenching with it is totally effective as it will make the space feel cosier, despite it being a sunny south facing living room, it's a bold move but pays off! Nicole x
