Great video! I don't follow the Zettelkasten method for similar reasons, but I repurpose the unique note creator for fleeting ideas that I have while working on something in Obsidian and the zettelkasten prefix allows me to quickly see that it is something to process later on.

Good use for it! I mainly just put it in the daily note, which essentially is a unique note as well anyway.
@cgromo Жыл бұрын
I use it similarly - I use it to microblog and then use dataview to embed all entries for a day in my daily note. I do write in the daily note too, but when everything is in a single file I feel like I need to spend the time to make everything flow well, and separate notes let me break free of that.

Great video, Nicole! You always motivate me to improve my note taking. :) It's not a core plugin, but have you ever tried the "3D Graph" community plugin? I would love to see your big knowledge graph when viewed in 3D in a future video/short of yours, tbh. (Sorry if you posted this already and I missed it.) My knowledge graph is comparatively tiny, but still it's pretty cool to see how all the notes connect in three dimensions. Still, I would be curious to see how a much bigger graph looks like in 3D.

One thing that having a recorder in obsidian is great for (I use a third party plug in though, something like "advanced media controls") is DM-ing. Set-up shortcuts for recording and playing. Make a 10-second voice sample for NPCs and use bone-conduction headphones or something else that lets to listen without interfering with listening to players. Then you can always have a quick prompt to help you snap into character. The record shortcut helps you record these on the fly as you introduce new characters in the game.

@nicolevdh thank you so much for the videos you share. Not only I learn but also I don't dispair!! I have a question about obsidian or any tool like it really. I see you speak several languages... I am wondering how to work when using several languages, should we keep different vaults? How to label or tag or link when things are in more than one language? I run in to this problem when making notes from different books I read not only in English... And for a second I got scare of messing up the vault...😂😂😂.... Do you have a video about it? It is a very interesting topic I think when mixing languages in the right way to not to collapse after trying to look for notes and stuff .... And thank you so much for everything you do for the community 😊

Do you have a method for prioritizing? I've used your advice now for several months and it has been a game changer for me. However I find that I now have so many notes and initiatives that I have to make a decision about what to work on. This step of deciding what to work on when I sit down is starting to become kind of burdensome because I need to explore my notes and make a decision. It requires some processing power before I've even started. I've found that a bottom-up approach to notetaking has been extremely valuable to me because it helps me discover problems and solutions rather than assume them. So I am hesitant to take a top-down approach to prioritizing where, I imagine, I would just decide up front what I think my priorities _should_ be rather than what they actually are through observation. I'm curious if you have an emergent method for managing priorities.

Suggestion: I would be interested in seeing how you refactor notes using “Note Composer” and “Note Refactor”. What strategies do you use to split notes ?

@@nicolevdh Would be great. Even on main page of obsidian, if I'm right, there is a mention that obsidian like IDE for your notes. What really differs ide from cli compiler + notepad is refactoring (imo of cause). So this would be a great discussion!
